Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch were among those honored at the second annual Apple Music Awards.
Rapper Lil Baby took home the top honor, hand-selected by the streaming service’s global editorial team to win artist of the year. Lil Baby topped the charts this year with his sophomore album “My Turn” and reached the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his hit “The Bigger Picture.”
Taylor Swift was named songwriter of the year after her 2020 album “Folklore” set the record for the most streamed pop album on release day and became the first album of the year to sell more than a million copies.
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is Apple Music’s breakthrough artist of the year. Her two No. 1 singles, “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé and “WAP” with Cardi B, have collectively racked up more than 300 million plays on Apple Music.
The Apple Music Awards will stream a week-long celebration beginning Dec. 14, featuring performances, fan events, interviews and more.
