Little Big Town to host first-ever Peoples Choice Country Awards

Little Big Town will host the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards, taking from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and airing live on September 28th at 8 pm ET/PT across NBC and Peacock. The People’s Choice Country Awards will recognize the biggest and best country music has to offer chosen entirely by the fans across various categories, with several honorary statuettes also being handed out that evening.

The group, who were inducted as Opry members in 2014, will also perform a medley of their greatest hits at the iconic venue during the two-hour ceremony. They shared in a statement: “We are honored to host the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards, especially on one of our most beloved stages in the entire world. We look forward to welcoming so many of our talented peers to take the Opry stage for this magical night of music.”

Cassandra Tryon, Senior Vice President, Entertainment Live Events, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said: “Little Big Town is a force in country music and a beloved staple on Music Row. As Opry members, they’ve delighted fans for years on the world-famous stage and we’re honored to have them host, perform and bring this inaugural ceremony to life for our NBC and Peacock audiences.”

Lukas Nelson drops the music video for “Alcohallelujah”

Lukas Nelson has released the music video to his new song “Alcohallelujah,” just ahead of Nelson’s forthcoming album Sticks and Stones, the follow-up to his 2021 LP, A Few Stars Apart.

Sticks and Stones, Nelson’s forthcoming 12-track country/rock album, will feature Alcohallelujah as well as the previously released duet with Lainey Wilson, “More Than Friends.”  Nelson shared in a statement: “This album is about celebrating the human connection, joy and excitement. We went from quiet and introspective on ‘A Few Stars Apart’ to something big and fun to really showcase the band’s talent and performance. You can listen to the album ‘Sticks and Stones’ from start to finish and get the songs to dance to and then the quiet, poignant songs. To me, this album is the perfect setlist.”

Charlie Puth reunites with ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise for “Angel Pt. 2”

Charlie Puth has re-entered the Fast & Furious franchise with “Angel Pt. 2,” the follow-up to “Angel Pt. 1” Angel Pt. 2 also features BTS’ Jimin, Muni Long and social media star Jvke of the soundtrack of Fast X, the latest installment in the Fast & Furious action film series. Puth said via Billboard: “I owe so much to this franchise and have always been so proud to be a part of the Fast Family. I’m thrilled to come back and collaborate with all of these fantastic artists on ‘Angel Pt. 2.’”

Puth’s massive hit “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa was featured on the soundtrack of Furious 7. It was written in tribute to late actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in 2013. “See You Again” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, serving as Puth’s first No. 1 on the chart and Khalifa’s second.

Kim Petras hitting the road on her ‘Feed The Beast’ world tour

Kim Petras is hitting the road on the 34-date Feed The Beast World Tour produced by Live Nation.

The North American leg kicks off September 27 in Austin, TX, and will see Kim traveling coast-to-coast, making stops in Miami, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Nashville, Houston, and San Diego. Kim will then embark on a UK/European run of shows beginning February 13 in Birmingham, UK, hitting cities including Manchester, London, Brussels, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, and Milan.

Petras is also slated to perform at festivals around the world, including Osheaga in Montreal on August 6, The Town in São Paulo on September 10, Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas on September 24, and Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 18.
