HARDY‘s amplifying the rock in country-rock in his cover of Brooks & Dunn‘s “Hillbilly Deluxe.”
The full song won’t be out till Nov. 15, but Brooks & Dunn have shared a snippet of it on social platform X.
“If I ever get up and do a song in karaoke, it’s 95% of the time it’s ‘Hillbilly Deluxe,'” HARDY says in the opening of the clip. “I know every word.”
HARDY’s “Hillbilly Deluxe” rendition melds the nostalgic upbeat melody you’re familiar with with an added chest-thumping, hard rock-leaning production.
“The coolest thing about REBOOT is them giving these artists their blessing to record a version of their song the way that the artist wants to do it,” HARDY continues. “They brought … the rock ‘n’ roll they loved into their own sound and that’s pretty much a parallel to what I’m doing.”
Brooks & Dunn’s star-studded REBOOT II arrives Nov. 15 and is available for preorder and presave now.
Here’s the full track list for REBOOT II: “Play Something Country” with Lainey Wilson “Neon Moon” with Morgan Wallen “Rock My World (Little Country Girl)” with Marcus King Band “Ain't Nothing Bout You” with Megan Moroney “Brand New Man” with Warren Zeiders “Believe” with Jelly Roll “She Used to Be Mine” with Riley Green “She Likes to Get Out of Town” with The Cadillac Three “Boot Scootin' Boogie” with Halestorm “Ain't No Way To Go” with Mitchell Tenpenny “How Long Gone” with The Earls of Leicester “I'll Never Forgive My Heart” with Jake Worthington “She's Not the Cheatin' Kind” with Hailey Whitters “Hard Workin' Man” with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram “Hillbilly Deluxe” with HARDY “Indian Summer” with ERNEST “Drop in the Bucket” with Thousand Horses “Only In America” with Corey Kent
Leather Deluxe Edition is set to arrive Friday, but here’s a fun fact: dividing Leather into two wasn’t part of Cody Johnson‘s plan.
“Leather was supposed to be an album to follow up Human: The Double Album, but by the time I got through looking at all these songs that I just could not give up [and] had to have, there was, like, 24 or 25 of them,” Cody recounts to the press.
Dumbfounded, Cody thought, “Well, I don't want to do another double album. Like, how do we do this?”
That’s when Warner Music Nashville co-chair and co-president Cris Lacy came to the rescue.
“I'll credit [Cris Lacy]. It was her idea. She said, ‘What if we release half, come back later with the deluxe edition with the rest of it?’ And I was like, ‘Man, I really don't want to break this body of work up because I feel like all these songs complement each other,'” he shares.
“But after sitting down with a pen and a paper and really looking at separating, like, ‘This one's kind of the same tempo, OK, let's separate those. This one's kind of the same key, let's separate these. That one's kind of almost the same subject matter, let's separate these.’ And I looked, and I was like, ‘Wow, we have two albums here,'” Cody recounts of his little epiphany.
“So, it was by accident,” Cody says. “It was not a planned thing, and I really appreciate Cris bringing that idea to the table because it worked out pretty well.”
Cody’s currently making his way up the country charts with his Carrie Underwood-assisted single, “I’m Gonna Love You.”
Here’s the full track list for Leather Deluxe Edition: “Work Boots” “Double Down” “Watching My Old Flame” “That's Texas” “Dirt Cheap” “Jesus Loves You” “Whiskey Bent” (featuring Jelly Roll) “Leather” “People in the Back” “Long Live Country Music” (featuring Brooks & Dunn) “The Painter” “Make Me a Mop” “Overdue” “The Fall” “How Do You Sleep at Night” “Country Boy Singin' the Blues” “Georgia Peaches” “Damn Good Life” “C’mon Cowgirl” “I Wished It Was You” “Take It Like a Man” “I'm Gonna Love You” (with Carrie Underwood) “Made In the USA” “Over Missin' You” “The Mustang”
Being signed to the same record label as Randy Travis has given Cole Swindell a full-circle moment.
Sure, Cole grew up with the “Forever and Ever, Amen” singer’s music, like many of today’s country stars. But what makes it extra special is a Halloween memory from Cole’s childhood.
“I'll never forget being young and I grew up loving Randy Travis, and I had a poster of him from a concert that my grandparents took me to,” Cole recalls to the press. “He had on a leather jacket and had his hair slicked back and that's the only costume I could get.”
“So I got me a leather jacket and slicked my blond hair back and looked nothing like him, but was proud to tell everybody I was Randy Travis that I walked up to,” he shares with a laugh.
“I'm sure they looked at me like, ‘Wow! Nice costume,’ but I was proud of it,” recounts Cole. “I'll never forget just thinking that I could try to look like that poster and be Randy Travis.”
Many years later, grown-up and superstar Cole got to meet Randy.
In May, he shared an Instagram Reel of him and the country icon sitting down together to hear his AI-assisted song, “Where That Came From,” for the first time.
Cole’s currently in the top 30 of the country charts with his latest single, “Forever to Me.”
Megan Moroney has brought her longtime question “Am I Okay?” to life in a new music video.
Navigating romance, dates, glitz, glam and a cheater, the visualizer follows Megan as she experiences life’s unfolding events before arriving at the literal door of her happily ever after.
“The music video takes you through what love ‘always was’ – a lot of failed attempts at finding the ‘right one’ and reminds you that the ‘right one’ may have been there all long if you look real close,” says Megan, who also co-wrote “Am I Okay?” and co-directed its video with Alexandra Gavillet.
“I loved creating the concept for the video because it portrays what ‘Am I Okay?’ feels like to me- finally meeting the one that makes all the wrong ones feel worth it,” she adds. “And maybe that's happened or maybe it's totally made up in my head, I guess we'll never know!”
“Am I Okay” is the lead single and title track of Megan’s latest album, which arrived in June and received the deluxe treatment in October as Am I Okay? (I Am Fine).

Kelsea Ballerini recently clocked in some couch time with Jimmy Fallon on his namesake late-night talk show.
Kelsea reflected on her debut headlining show at Madison Square Garden, her first impression of her boyfriend, Chase Stokes, whether she’s seen Chase’s hit show Outer Banks and, of course, PATTERNS.
After their interview, the country-pop star took the stage to perform PATTERNS‘ autobiographical title track against a sunset display, while sitting atop a pile of luggage.
You can watch Kelsea’s full The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon interview and performance on YouTube.
PATTERNS‘ lead single, “Cowboys Cry Too,” is currently in the top 40 and ascending the country charts.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that Virginia can continue with its purge of more than 1,600 voter registrations ahead of next week’s general election, that state officials say are held by non-citizens. The emergency decision is considered a victory for conservatives in Virginia and can possibly affect other states.
In a 6-3 ruling, the high court reversed a lower court’s decision that put the program on hold and required the state to restore the voters in question to the rolls. The brief order noted that the three liberal justices on the court — Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor — dissented from the decision.
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin said in a statement: “This is a victory for commonsense and election fairness. Virginians can cast their ballots on Election Day knowing that Virginia’s elections are fair, secure, and free from politically-motivated interference.”
The Biden administration and purge opponents had won at the district court and federal appeals court levels before the Supreme Court reversed the injunction on Wednesday, allowing the purge to move forward. The DOJ and other challengers said the purge was against federal law because it actually stripped eligible voters of their ability to vote, while opponents said those purged never knew they were taken off the rolls.
Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday said she ‘strongly disagrees with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” with her remarks coming after President Joe Biden received backlash after his remarks in which he appeared to call Trump supporters “garbage” on a video call with Latino activists.
Speaking to reporters on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews before leaving for campaign events, Harris said that while Biden had “clarified his comments,” she added, “I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they voted for. You heard my speech last night and continuously throughout my career: I believe that the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not. And as president of the United States, I will be a president for all Americans, whether you vote for me or not.” (per NBC News).
In a video call with Latino activists Tuesday evening, Biden commented about the a joke made at a Trump rally Sunday at Madison Square Garden by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, in which Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Biden seemed to reply: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable.”
After Biden’s comments drew heavy criticism from Republicans, the White House went on to send out a transcript in an attempt to clarify that Biden was not saying that Trump supporters were “garbage”, but simply tripped over his lines while meaning to say he was condemning Hinchcliffe’s remarks specifically.
Later in a post on X later Tuesday, Biden reiterated that what he said was in reference to Hinchcliffe: “Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation.”
Jessie Murph‘s latest album features songs with some of music’s biggest names, including Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman and Teddy Swims.
So, what is it about cross-genre collaborations that appeal to Jessie?
“I enjoy doing it because I always think it’s better to have two voices as opposed to one. I think that’s so fun,” she tells ABC Audio. “[It’s] like merging two worlds together.”
“I also think the kind of music I make kind of lends itself to collabs because it is so genreless,” Jessie notes. “It leaves the door open to do so many different types of collabs, which is so exciting.”
“I’m not done yet. There’s so many collabs I could do and that’s exciting to me,” she adds.
One collab that’s been burning up the country charts is her Koe Wetzel-assisted “High Road,” which came about almost organically.
“Koe and I have been friends for a while when we worked together before, and this song kind of happened and I heard it and I was like, ‘Wow, I’m super about this,'” Jessie shares.
“It gives me almost like 2000s country, rock, and I love that s***. So I’m super down for it,” the Alabama native says. “But yeah, he’s a good guy.”
You can find “High Road” and Jessie’s collabs with Jelly, Bailey and more on That Ain’t No Man That’s the Devil, out now.
