Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band set fall 2025 tour dates

Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band have revealed Fall 2025 tour dates, mainly comprised six dates at the Venetian in Las Vegas.

The run kicks off on September 10th in Chicago with stops in Milwaukee, Louisville, and Murphys, California. The Vegas dates run September 17-27 at The Venetian Theatre with a show on September 23rd to be announced. The new shows will feature the same lineup, with Starr backed by pals Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette, as well as Buck Johnson on keyboards.

These new live dates come after Starr’s release of his latest album Look Up, in January 2025 — his second country-themed record, and first in more than 50 years. Look Up also marked Starr’s first record of new original material since 2019’s What’s My Name, and featured 11 original songs recorded throughout 2024 in Nashville and Los Angeles – nine of which were co-written by Starr and T. Bone Burnett, while one was penned by Billy Swan and another a co-write from Starr and Bruce Sugar. Look Up also included contributions from Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, Molly Tuttle and more.

Thoughts on an 'American Scandal'? Ashley McBryde covers Toby Keith & The Chicks

What does Ashley McBryde make of the supposed feud between The Chicks and the late Toby Keith? While it’s hard to say for sure, she does seem to be bringing up the topic in her new Apple Music Nashville Sessions EP.

The four-track collection starts with Toby’s 1993 hit, “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action.”

“Toby Keith didn’t just write country songs. He wrote anthems,” Ashley commented in a marketing email from her record label.

The EP continues with the title track of Ashley’s latest album, 2023’s The Devil I Know. From there, she covers The Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice” from 2006, which was their response to the controversy.

Perhaps somewhat slyly, Ashley closes with her own “American Scandal” from 2018’s Girl Going Nowhere.

The particular “American Scandal” Ashley seems to be referencing started in 2003 when Toby and The Chicks clashed after lead singer Natalie Maines criticized then-President George W. Bush at a London concert.

Chase Rice cruises in with 'Two Tone Trippin''

Chase Rice co-wrote one of the most successful “truck” songs in country music history, “Cruise,” and now he’s back with another.

“Two Tone Trippin'” features singer/songwriter Wyatt McCubbin and was inspired by a trip to Rollinsville, Colorado.

“We kept noticing two-tone trucks everywhere,” Chase remembers. “[Co-writer] Oscar [Charles] finally said, Man, this must be where two-tones go to die.' Then out of nowhere, he goes, We should write a song called Two Tone Trippin'.'”

“I had just bought a 72 two-tone Chevy, so I was all about it,” Chase continues. “I think we wrote the whole thing in about 45 minutes – no rules, not even a chorus. We just straight up had fun on this one. And everything you hear in the recording – the playing and the singing – was all one take.”

“Two Tone Trippin'” is the first taste of new music from Chase coming later this year and the follow-up to 2024’s Go Down Singin‘.

The Opry returns to the Ryman to recreate historic show in July

The Opry will make a rare summertime return to the Ryman Auditorium on July 17 in honor of its 100th birthday. The cast will recreate the final show that was performed there before it moved to the then-new Grand Ole Opry House on March 15, 1974.

Nineties hitmaker Lorrie Morgan, whose father George Morgan was the final performer that night, is set to take part, as well as the Opry’s longest-running member, Bill Anderson, who played that night as well.

“That night in 1974 I stood alongside many of my heroes from those earlier days, smiling down at my parents, and saying so long to the only Opry home I had ever known … definitely a moment I will remember for the rest of my life,” he reflects.

Anderson will sing the same songs he did on the original show, alongside The Band Perry, Mandy Barnett and Chuck Mead. Look for more artists to be revealed as the date approaches.

NY Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani wins NYC’s Democratic mayoral primary to advance to general election

NY state Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani has officially won the Democratic mayoral primary for New York City, in a stunning victory by the 33-year-old socialist over former-NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani was elected to the New York state Assembly in 2021, and he launched his campaign for mayor last fall.

The New York City Board of Elections released the latest election results Tuesday, showing Mamdani with 56% of the vote. Mamdani will face incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who opted to keep his name on the ballot as an independent, in the November general election.

Mamdani declared victory on election night last week after his closest competitor, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, conceded. Early results showed Mamdani leading with 43.5% support in the first-choice count, however, he did not clear the 50% mark, which forced additional rounds of tabulation with city officials counting second- and third-choice votes. During his victory speech on election night, Mamdani said: “I will be the mayor for every New Yorker, whether you voted for me, for Governor Cuomo, or felt too disillusioned by a long-broken political system to vote at all. I will fight for a city that works for you, that is affordable for you, that is safe for you. I will work to be a mayor you will be proud to call your own. I cannot promise that you will always agree with me, but I will never hide from you.”

After Tuesday’s official results were announced, Mamdani posted on social media : “I am humbled by the support of more than 545,000 New Yorkers in last week’s primary. This is just the beginning of our expanding coalition to make New York City affordable. And we will do it together.”

Cuomo also released a statement after the results were posted, thanking his supporters and saying, “We’ll be continuing conversations with people from all across the city while determining next steps.”

Vice President JD Vance casts tie-breaking vote to pass ‘big, beautiful’ megabill in Senate

The Senate narrowly passed President Donald Trump’s policy bill on Tuesday, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote after a 50-50 tally. Three Republicans voted against the sprawling, nearly 900-page package dubbed the “One, Big Beautiful Bill”, which is packed with tax cuts and immigration policies. The bill will now go back to the House for final approval, where its outcome remains uncertain.

The Senate embarked on the debate late June 28, when Democrats forced clerks to read the 940-page bill out loud overnight for the next 16 hours. A voting session nicknamed a “vote-a-rama” began June 30 for another all-night session with a total of 41 votes on the bill. GOP Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Susan Collins of Maine joined all Democrats in voting against the bill.

Speaker Mike Johnson and top Republican leaders announced in a statement that the House will consider the bill “immediately for final passage” — with renewed intent to put the measure on President Trump’s desk by July 4: “The House will work quickly to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill that enacts President Trump’s full America First agenda by the Fourth of July. The American people gave us a clear mandate, and after four years of Democrat failure, we intend to deliver without delay. This bill is President Trump’s agenda, and we are making it law. House Republicans are ready to finish the job.”

If the Senate signs off on the bill, it would give former President Trump the chance to solidify key parts of his second-term platform. This includes following through on pledges to reduce taxes on tips and overtime pay, ramp up immigration enforcement, and lock in the tax cuts passed in 2017. At the same time, the proposal would significantly slash funding for Medicaid and is expected to add roughly $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next ten years.

Move over, America: It's Justin Moore's wife's birthday, too

Justin Moore is all about marking America’s birth on Independence Day, but there’s also one more birthday to celebrate: his wife’s.

Though he still lives in his hometown of Poyen, Arkansas, Justin typically heads to Florida with his wife, Kate Moore, and their four kids for the Fourth.

“Once we got our house down there, we always spend the holiday down there and typically have friends or family there with us,” he says. “And Kate's birthday's the 5th.”

“So, Fourth of July has always been my favorite holiday because summertime I love, and warm weather I love. And certainly, it's one of her favorites because of her birthday. You know, she gets the whole week, according to her,” he adds.

Justin should have plenty of time to celebrate. He doesn’t head back on the road until he plays the Waukesha County Fair in Wisconsin on July 17.
