Kelsea Ballerini files for temporary restraining order against alleged hacker who released her songs

Kelsea Ballerini has filed for a temporary restraining order against an alleged hacker for illegally sharing her music online.

As reported by People, the alleged hacker, Bo Ewing, is accused of unlawfully obtaining and releasing “still-in-production, unreleased masters and demos” of Ballerini’s music, per court documents reviewed by the publication. Ballerini, her label home Black River Entertainment and producer Alysa Vanderheym are listed as plaintiffs.

The Ohio-based alleged hacker is identified as “a former member of Ms. Ballerini's fan club” and “a supporter of her career in the past” who “has since become disenfranchised with Ms. Ballerini.” Court documents state that Ewing got hold of the files “through gaining back-door access to the device of either, or both, of Ms. Ballerini or Ms. Vanderheym.”

The plaintiffs also posited Ewing “had already shared the files with multiple third parties and that the music in question was unfinished,” per People.

An injunction to protect the recordings has been secured by the country star, Black River Entertainment and Vanderheym to protect the recordings, citing “continued, irreparable harm” on the plaintiff’s end.

“Protection of an artist's music is of the upmost importance,” a spokesperson for Ballerini told People exclusively. “Artists spend countless hours perfecting their craft and telling their stories through their music. Stealing and sharing unfinished music is illegal and harms the integrity of the creative process.”

Ballerini’s latest project is her seven-track Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good) EP, which was preceded by 2022’s SUBJECT TO CHANGE. She’s currently working on and gearing up to release new music.

Anne Wilson + Lainey Wilson drop faith-inspired “Praying Woman”

Rising country artist Anne Wilson has teamed with Lainey Wilson for a new duet, “Praying Woman.”

Anne and Lainey co-wrote the powerful song with Trannie Anderson, Jeff Pardo and Christian singer Matthew West, and it chronicles a woman’s unwavering commitment to prayer.

“That’s the power/ The power of two folded hands/ Bowed head, bended knees/ When she whispers dear Jesus/ Heaven can hear it/ And that devil gets back to Hell running/ That’s the power/ The power of a praying woman/ Oh, a praying woman,” goes the soul-stirring chorus.

“Praying Woman” is off Anne’s debut country album, REBEL. Out now, the 16-track project also includes collabs with Jordan Davis (“Country Gold”) and Christian superstar Chris Tomlin (“The Cross”).

“When I think about this new album and this set of songs, all I see is the faithfulness of God,” Anne shares with the press. “He called this little 15 year old girl from Kentucky out of the tragic loss of her brother and has brought me on the most incredible journey. I would be nowhere without Jesus.”

“My hope is that you all absolutely love these songs and that you feel Jesus in all of them,” she adds. “I pray this record impacts your life for the glory and honor of Jesus. That it brings you JOY and peace. That it inspires you to be a REBEL.”

Chris Janson + The Rock bask in the outdoors in “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get” video

Chris Janson has dropped the music video for “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get” with surprise guest star and longtime friend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The lighthearted visualizer opens with Chris hanging at Bass Pro Shops before being mentally transported to the outdoors. There, Chris performs his autobiographical song while having a good time with Dwayne on a classic Ford pickup truck.

“We had a great time making this video. Tons of genuine real fun. From TN to TX, we made it happen,” shares Chris. “Can't thank DJ enough for starring in it and for being a great friend to me.”

Dwayne says, “We bonded so quickly in a parking lot waiting for our cars to pull around – talking about ‘The Blues Man,’ talking about the Opry.what really moved me was Chris' humility, his love for not only Country music, which I love as well, but his desire to work hard and take care of his family.”

“He does it with such a grace and style – again, his humility, gratitude and always bringing some fun to the mix made us fast friends and I'm happy to be a part of his video,” adds The Rock.

“Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get” is Chris’ new single, preceded by the #1 hit, “All I Need Is You.” His latest album is 2023’s The Outlaw Side Of Me.

Megan Moroney loves how self-empowering “I'm Not Pretty” is

Don’t be fooled by the self-deprecating title of Megan Moroney‘s latest single, “I’m Not Pretty.” It’s actually a self-empowerment song that transpired from an experience Megan had.

“I just love it because it’s a confident anthem. I wrote it, obviously, about my ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend accidentally liking a photo from 2016,” Megan says in a press interview, before talking about the vibrant music video.

“I feel like I got to tell the bigger story of this song. When I sing ‘I’m Not Pretty,’ I’m not thinking about my ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. It’s more so just like, ‘Keep telling me I can’t do things,'” she says. “That’s the message of the song.”

“I just like how the music video is like, ‘If you’re nice, you’re really good at baking cakes and you’re really good at doing things. And if you’re mean, you burn your cakes and look unhappy all the time,'” adds Megan.

“I’m Not Pretty” is now approaching the top 15 of the country charts. You can find it on Megan’s debut album, Lucky, out now.

Megan’s currently opening for Kenny Chesney on his Sun Goes Down Tour. Tickets and the full tour schedule are available now on her website.
