Listen to the new single from Kim Petras ‘If Jesus Was a Rockstar’

Kim Petras has dropped the new single “If Jesus Was a Rockstar,” the follow-up to her hit single, “Unholy” with Sam Smith.

In a recent interview, Petras shared with The Daily Beast: “I think the point of this song [“If Jesus Was a Rockstar”] is taking away the bells and whistles and the extreme, over-exaggerated characters that I’ve created in the past, especially on Slut Pop and Turn Off the Light. It’s the first time that it’s not an escapist song, and it’s about how I feel as a human in the world right now. It’s the first time that I just felt like the song was meaningful enough to stand by itself.”

Garth Brooks sells out every show of his 2023 Las Vegas residency in just one day

Just days after Garth Brooks announced his Garth Brooks/Plus ONE Las Vegas residency, all shows for the 2023 run sold out in the first day of presale.

The singer shared the news on this week's installment of his Facebook Live series, Inside Studio G.

“First of all, thank you. What an unbelievable day this was for us,” Garth told viewers. “Every show in 23 is pretty much…done. A whole year in one day. That's nice.”

The singer also said that he'd been “on the phone all day” with people associated with his Vegas residency, and that he’s hoping to be able to accommodate the fans who weren't able to snag their tickets due to the rapid sell-out. According to CMT, over 60,000 fans — all of whom had to register through Ticketmaster to participate in the sale — weren't able to secure their seats.

“How do you take care of those people who weren't taken care of?” Garth continues.

Garth mused that the remedy for that might be to extend the residency into 2024, but he stressed that nothing is confirmed just yet.

“If 24 comes around and Caesars [Palace] is sweet enough to want to do this for another year…[I] wasn't planning on it, but hey, I got nothing to do!” he said, adding that he’d like the verified fans who tried to get tickets this time around will have first priority for any subsequent shows.

Garth's residency is set to launch in mid-May at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and will continue through December. He previously played a multi-year Vegas residency, which ran on and off from December 2009 to November 2013, at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.

Amid sobriety journey, Charles Kelley pens his “goodbye letter to alcohol” in a new song

Charles Kelley documents his sobriety journey in an intimate new song called “As Far as You Could.”

The Lady A vocalist shared the demo on social media, posting a stripped-back, raw recording that features only his vocals and a piano. In the caption of his post, Charles shared just how personal this track is to him.

“This song is my goodbye letter to alcohol,” he wrote. “…This song was very therapeutic to write and I hope it can meet someone where they are.”

“Cause you took me high but you sure as hell brought me down / We said goodbye but I'm gonna see you around / And to tell the truth, I thought I never would / But it's time I finally put you down for good / Cause you've taken me as far as you could,” Charles sings in the chorus.

In August, Lady A announced that they were postponing their scheduled Request Line Tour to 2023 in order to support Charles as he worked toward sobriety. Lady A’s Dave Haywood co-wrote “As Far As You Could” with Charles and songwriter Jimmy Robbins.

John Legend thinks Carrie Underwood should replace Blake Shelton on 'The Voice'

Blake Shelton might be leaving The Voice, but that doesn't mean country music is leaving the show.

In fact, Blake's fellow coach John Legend is hoping that another superstar from the format replaces the Voice veteran once he steps down. “I think it should be someone in country,” John told Extra on the red carpet before the live shows kicked off.

“We've never had another country coach before, because it's only been Blake,” John points out. “You know, I could see Carrie [Underwood] doing it.”

Of course, Carrie's already pretty familiar with NBC, the network that airs The Voice — as John notes, she’s performed the Sunday Night Football theme for nine years now. “She could be good,” he adds.

Of course, John might be just a tad biased, as he and Carrie have collaborated together in the past. Carrie's 2020 holiday album, My Gift, includes a duet they recorded called “Hallelujah,” which John co-wrote.

Blake announced last month that he's leaving The Voice. The show is currently in his 22nd season, and the next season — Season 23, in the spring of 2023 — will be his last.

Which country star hosts the best Thanksgiving dinner? Justin Moore, Riley Green + more make their case

Their songs might be easy on the ears, but how do country stars stack up when it comes to cooking Thanksgiving dinner? Well … that depends on what kind of turkey day meal you're looking for.

Justin Moore's Thanksgiving sounds pretty traditional – and pretty delicious. “I fry turkeys, and then I do a big pot of white beans,” the singer explained in a recent interview with his label.

But the best part of dinner at the Moores? A family dressing (aka stuffing) recipe that's been passed down to the singer's mom. “She got the recipe from her sister, which, she's passed unfortunately, but she kind of ruled the roost in our family on that side … and now my mom has taken over that role,” he continues.

If a slightly more rustic Thanksgiving is more your taste, perhaps Riley Green is the perfect host – at least, theoretically. The Alabama native would ideally prefer to shoot his own Thanksgiving turkey, if not for one pesky logistical issue.

“The problem in Northeast Alabama is turkey season does not fall during Thanksgiving,” he points out. “We only have a spring turkey season. So if I've got one in the freezer, yes.”

Of course, you can't go wrong with Trisha Yearwood. Not only is she a seasoned pro in the studio, she's also a famously excellent cook who even has her own Food Network show and several cookbooks.

If you didn't score an invite to Trisha's Thanksgiving table this year, take a peek at the turkey recipe she shared with Good Morning America in 2019 – she says it will “change your life.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham testifies before Georgia grand jury in 2020 Trump election probe

On Tuesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., testified before a special grand jury investigating whether President Donald Trump and others illegally meddled in the 2020 election in Georgia. Graham’s appearance before the panel came after a drawn-out legal fight that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court as Graham tried to avoid testifying. He had argued that his position as a senator shielded him from questioning. The courts rejected his assertion but did rule that prosecutors and grand jurors could not ask him about protected legislative activity.

Graham’s office said in a statement he testified for just over two hours and answered the grand jury’s questions: “The senator feels he was treated with respect, professionalism and courtesy. Out of respect for the grand jury process he will not comment on the substance of the questions.”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is heading the investigation, is seeking details about phone calls Graham made to top election officials in Georgia amid disproven allegations from then-President Donald Trump about widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. Willis’ office is probing a pair of post-election phone calls Graham made to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff. Raffensperger, a Republican targeted by Trump and his allies, alleged that Graham suggested that he had the authority to reject certain legally cast ballots. Graham denied having made such a suggestion, saying he was trying to understand the state’s process for verifying ballot signatures.
