Kacey Musgraves and Fancy Hagood team up for the song “Blue Dream Baby”

Kacey Musgraves has teamed up with country-pop singer Fancy Hagood for their newly-released single, “Blue Dream Baby.”  “Blue Dream Baby” will appear on Hagood’s forthcoming record, which follows his successful 2021 collection, “Southern Curiosity.” Hagood and Musgraves are longtime friends, but “Blue Dream Baby” is their first collaboration together. Hagood wrote the single alongside Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and songwriter Alysa Vanderheym.

In honor of pride month, Hagood and Musgraves have also released the animated music video for the song, featuring “gayliens” and Musgraves’ alter ego “Spacey Kacey.” Take a look at the video for Blue Dream Babyhere.

Hagood wrote on Instagram: “I want to thank @spaceykacey for being the sexiest cartoon I’ve ever seen and for throwing down on the track! It’s a dream come true when you get to put magic out into the world…but to get to do it with one of your besties is just next level of special I could stay high on!”

Hagood also made note of Musgraves’ support of the LGBTQ+ community: “Kacey is such a trailblazer and has created so much room in this town [Nashville] for queer expression and art. I have felt the effects of the change she has helped create not only in my career, but in my personal life as well. Kacey made me feel seen long before we were friends, and I’m so honored to share a track with such a legend.”

The Weeknd announces lineup of opening acts for the upcoming ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ Stadium Tour

As part of an interview with Variety, The Weeknd’s team announced the full lineup of opening acts for his upcoming 19-date ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ Stadium Tour. Mike Dean, Snoh Aalegra, and Kaytranada will join the tour on varying dates.

Doja Cat—who was originally billed as a “special guest”—was forced to drop out of the lineup in May due to surgery. She said in an Instagram post at the time: “Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils ASAP. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take awhile due to swelling. That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.”

The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour will kick-off on July 8 in Toronto, with Kaytranada and Mike Dean serving as support. Snoh Aalegra will appear on a number of dates starting with the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Aug. 11.  Mike Dean—who’s worked with Abel before — will appear at all 19 dates of this leg of the tour.

It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
