Ty Herndon shares details on a new album ahead of Wednesday night's Concert for Love and Acceptance

Ty Herndon's Concert for Love and Acceptance returns tonight for its 2021 iteration, featuring performances from Brothers Osborne, Tenille Townes, LoCash and many more artists.

Created by Ty and GLAAD in 2015 shortly after the “What Mattered Most” singer revealed he’s gay, the annual event raises money to support LGBTQ youth and families. The event will stream on CMT's Facebook and YouTube channels on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.

Ahead of the show, Ty is offering up some details about his new album, Jacob, which is slated for release later in the year. The album's title is inspired by a Biblical story, Ty tells CMT, though he wouldn't classify it as Christian music.

“It's just about changing your ending. There's not a song called Jacob' on the record and I've never done a concept album before, but this is a collection of songs about changing your ending, healing and survival,” the singer clarifies. “It's a very important piece of work and probably the piece of work I was born to do.”

In addition to benefiting GLAAD and Nashville-based youth crisis intervention organization Oasis Center, tonight's event will also support MusiCares, in order to help those in the entertainment industry who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reba McEntire is celebrating the 30th anniversary of 'For My Broken Heart' with a special vinyl re-release

It's been almost 30 years since Reba McEntire released her 18th studio album, For My Broken Heart, in the fall of 1991.

The project produced hits like “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” “Is There Life Out There” and “The Greatest Man I Never Knew,” and that's not all: It also has the deeply personal significance of being the first album Reba put out after a devastating plane crash killed eight members of her band and crew earlier that year.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of For My Broken Heart, Reba is teaming up with Vinyl Me, Please, a club that presses and delivers a “Record of the Month” for its listeners. For My Broken Heart will be VMP's July 2021 “Record of the Month.”

The special vinyl re-release features new packaging and liner notes written by freelance writer Natalie Weiner, and the record itself was pressed on exclusive Magenta Galaxy vinyl.

Reba also took to social media recently to give fans an update on her upcoming Lifetime Christmas, movie, Reba McEntire's Christmas in Tune. Announced earlier this year, the film will be part of the 2021 “It's a Wonderful Lifetime” lineup, and features an original song recorded by the singer for the project.

Brad Paisley is lending some twang to Shark Week this year with 'Brad Paisley's Shark Country' special

If you've ever wondered whether sharks are fans of country music, you're not the only one: Brad Paisley will be answering that question this summer as part of Discovery's annual Shark Week programming.

Shark Week kicks off July 11, and on July 13 at 9 p.m. ET, Brad will take his guitar underwater for Brad Paisley's Shark Country, a special that also features Curb Your Enthusiasm comedian JB Smoove. With marine biologist Dr. Austin Gallagher along for the ride, the two entertainers will bring a stacked bill of music and comedy to a toothy underwater audience.

The special, which was filmed in the Bahamas, is one of a robust lineup of celebrity appearances coming to Shark Week this year. Actor and comedian Tiffany Haddish will get in on the fun, as well as the cast of beloved early-aughts reality stunt show Jackass.

According to Deadline, this year marks Shark Week's 33rd iteration, and with 45 hours of programming planned, it's the largest-ever lineup of shark-themed content to date.

Cody Johnson delivers some “not so exciting news:” He's been placed on vocal rest for three weeks

Cody Johnson is asking for fans' prayers as he begins three weeks of doctor-ordered vocal rest. The singer shared the news on social media after a weekend of live shows.

“God willing, this will be an isolated incident, and as of right now, there is no concern about long-term damage,” the “Dear Rodeo” singer assured his followers. “However, I would appreciate y'all keeping me in your prayers for a safe and speedy recovery. I can't wait to get back out there doing what I love. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.”

When Cody broke the tough news to fans that he's not going to be able to see them in person for a few more weeks, he got a comment from Jon Pardi, who knows exactly what he's going through.

“I FEEL THIS!!!!!” wrote Jon, who's in the middle of his own doctor-mandated vocal rest, which will last until July 1. “You can do it!”

Cody's bump in the road comes just days after he expanded his summer touring schedule, adding a string of headlining dates that are set to begin in August and run through September.

He's also gearing up to release a double album in October, and plans to share two new songs each month until the project comes out. The most recent of those, “Longer Than She Did” and “Til You Can't,” dropped earlier in June.

Death toll rises to 12 as search and rescue operation continues in Florida building collapse

As of Tuesday evening, at least 12 people have been confirmed dead, with 149 others unaccounted for, after a 12-story residential building partially collapsed in South Florida’s Miami-Dade County last week. A massive search and rescue operation entered its sixth day on Tuesday, as crews continued to comb through the pile of debris in hopes of finding survivors. So far, 125 people who were living or staying in the condominium at the time of the disaster have been accounted for.

The partial collapse occurred at around 1:15 a.m. local time last Thursday at the Champlain Towers South condominium in the small, beachside town of Surfside, about 6 miles north of Miami Beach. Approximately 55 of the oceanfront complex’s 136 units were destroyed, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Raide Jadallah. Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said during a press conference in Surfside on Tuesday: “Nobody is giving up hope here. Nobody is stopping. We are dedicated to getting everyone out of that pile of rubble.”

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will travel to Surfside on Thursday, according to a statement from the White House. Last week, the president approved an emergency declaration in Florida and ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local response efforts in the wake of the partial building collapse.

President Biden travels to promote his $1.2T infrastructure deal

President Joe Biden traveled to Wisconsin on Tuesday to promote a bipartisan infrastructure proposal that would spend $1.2 trillion on various upgrades and repairs across the United States, including work on roads and bridges.  Biden told an audience in La Crosse that “America has always been propelled into the future by landmark national investments. This is a generational investment to modernize our infrastructure, creating millions of good-paying jobs, and position America to compete with the rest of the world in the 21st century.”

The investment includes $48.5 billion for public transportation, $109 billion for road and bridge projects, as well as funding to replace lead water pipes in the state and expand access to broadband Internet. The bipartisan proposal was reached last week among a group of centrist Democratic and Republican senators. The bipartisan agreement is effectively a compromise to Biden’s original infrastructure proposal, the American Jobs Plan, which was estimated to cost far more and had no Republican support.

Naomi Judd inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame

Country legend Naomi Judd has been honored after being inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame. Naomi, a member of the hit making mother-daughter duo ‘The Judds,’ earned Grammy honors and a string of country hits through the ’80s and ’90s with her daughter, Wynonna Judd.  Naomi was also a co-writer behind the anthem, “Love Can Build a Bridge,” and went onto a successful acting career.

Said Naomi: “It’s always gratifying when someone acknowledges your best efforts. I love expressing my deepest feelings as I did in writing ‘Love Can Build a Bridge.’ Not only was I being celebrated at this auspicious event in Washington, D.C., I was among other accomplished songwriters. It was fun to reconnect with Valerie Simpson of Ashford & Simpson fame. We met years ago. A good time was had by all!”

Other women honored for their songwriting were Valerie Simpson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Roberta Flack, Tawatha Agee, Klymaxx, Deniece Williams, Jeri Keever “Bunny” Hull and Veryl Howard. Along with Judd, they became the first artists to be enshrined in the new Hall, which is located inside the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
