Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello announce break up after two years together

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello announced on social media they have broken up after two years of dating. The two shared a joint statement to their respective Instagram stories on Wednesday night, sharing that they plan to stay best friends. The joint statement read: “Hi guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”

The two met while on tour as opening acts for Austin Mahone in 2014, when Cabello was part of the band Fifth Harmony. Mendes and Cabello have collaborated on music over the years and released their first song together, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” in November 2015. They officially started dating in July 2019, and when they took the stage at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles later that year to perform a rendition of their collaboration, “Señorita,” that proved they were more than just friends.

There were no obvious signs recently that the couple were on the rocks; just this past Halloween, the duo shared pictures of their costumes together on social media, and shared a kiss while performing in New York in September.

The Kid Laroi has dropped his new video for “Still Chose You” featuring Mustard.  The video shows Mustard plays the piano as the Kid Laroi sings about “tripping” on a new love after swearing off falling for someone again.

The singer also wrote a letter to fans, thanking them on social media, saying. “I hope you all enjoy the ‘Still Chose You video! I know that record is a fan favorite so I felt that it was only right for that to be the video that finally closes the F*ck Love era. It’s been a wild year, to say the least. Seeing the impact of the project and hearing about how it’s helped and changed so many people’s lives is f*ckin’ beautiful but also incredibly surreal. It’s the reason why I do this sh*t. My life has also changed so much this past year because of it and I owe it all to every single one of you. There is no way I will ever be able to repay you.” LAROI added that he plans to take “some time away from everything” to work on his debut album.

Avril Lavigne returns with new pop/punk song “Bite Me”

Avril Lavigne is back with her latest single “Bite Me,” the first new music for Lavigne since she recently signed with Travis Barker’s DTA Records. Barker, Goldfinger’s John Feldmann and Mod Sun all serve as co-producers on the track.

Lavigne said, “I’ve always admired Travis and his work. The first time we worked together was 15 years ago on my album The Best Damn Thing and I have really enjoyed watching him develop into the producer that he is today. We spent a lot of time writing songs and working on this record together, and signing to his record label, DTA felt like the perfect home for me and my new music. Travis understands my vision as a musician, my creative process as an artist, and my goals at this stage of my career.  I am excited to be dropping ‘Bite Me.’ It’s an anthem about knowing your worth, what you deserve and not giving someone a second chance who doesn’t deserve you.”

Last month, Lavigne appeared in the video for Willow’s “G R O W,” from Willow’s recent LP Lately I Feel Everything. Lavigne’s new album, which has yet to be announced, will be the follow-up to 2019’s Head Above Water.

The new single follows Rosalía’s appearance on a remix of The Weeknd’s hit song “Blinding Lights” last year. La Fama will appear on Rosalía’s new album Motomami, set to arrive in 2022. The LP will be the follow-up to her Grammy-winning breakout El Mal Querer from 2018.
