Dolly Parton teams up with Barry Gibb for reboot of Bee Gees classic ‘Words’

Dolly Parton has teamed with Barry Gibb for a new version of the Bee Gees classic tune “Words.”  The reboot of “Words” is from the upcoming all-star album Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1.  Parton posted a video teaser on Twitter of “Words,” which Gibb and his late brothers Robin and Maurice first recorded in 1967.

The album will be released on January 8, and is a collection of reimagined songs with a country twist (for the official album trailer, click here.)

In addition to Parton, Greenfields also features Gibb songs redone by Jason Isbell (“Words of a Fool”), Little Big Town (“How Deep Is Your Love”), Olivia Newton-John (“Rest Your Love on Me”), Sheryl Crow (“How Can You Mend a Broken Heart”), Alison Krauss (“Too Much Heaven”), Brandi Carlile (“Run to Me”), Keith Urban (“I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You”), and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (“Butterfly”).

Bipartisan Group Proposes $900B COVID-19 Stimulus Plan

On Tuesday, a bipartisan group of lawmakers unveiled legislation for a new coronavirus stimulus worth more than $900 billion, hoping to break months of deadlock between the House and Senate. The group specified their “COVID Emergency Relief Framework,” which calls for $288 billion in small-business support and $180 billion for extended unemployment insurance, among other fiscal appropriations.

The new proposal follows months of failed negotiations between House Democrats and Republican White House officials. The bipartisan group said the pitch is a way to resolve the months-long deadlock between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican leaders, who have not wavered for months on their separate proposals.

An agreement on a new stimulus plan is becoming increasingly urgent, as part of the $2 trillion CARES Act are nearing their expiration, including expanded unemployment insurance and eviction moratoriums, which will vanish at the end of the year.

Justin Bieber Announces Release Of New Single ‘Holy’

Justin Bieber has confirmed that he’ll release his new single “Holy” this Friday, the first new music from the singer since his fifth album Changes arrived earlier this year.

Bieber wrote on Twitter:  “FOUR DAYS”, alongside a link to a website titled jbsoon.com. When clicking through to the site, the track title appears in large white lettering. Bieber also shared a photo from the song’s video shoot, sitting next to director Colin Tilley – who most recently directed the video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘WAP’.

Many fans are speculating that Chance the Rapper may feature on “Holy”, as Bieber also retweeted a post by Chance in which he wrote, “I know he made you a snack like Oscar Proud” – in reference to the character on The Proud Family who sells his own line of snack foods.
