Federal judge denies Ghislaine Maxwell’s latest request for bail

On Monday, a federal judge denied bail to Ghislaine Maxwell for a second time. Maxwell is the British socialite facing charges of acting as an accomplice of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Judge Alison Nathan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York again ruled that Maxwell, 59, poses a flight risk, citing the severity of the charges she faces. In July, Nathan first denied her bail, siding with prosecutors who said that her wealth and dozens of overseas bank accounts make her an “extreme” flight risk.

Earlier this month, Maxwell’s attorneys proposed a $28.5 million bail package secured with $8 million in property and $500,000 in cash. Additionally, Maxwell’s relatives and friends have agreed to give an additional $5 million.

Maxwell pleaded not guilty to eight counts related to accusations that she helped Epstein sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls as young as 14 from 1994 to 1997. The charges include conspiracy, perjury, enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sexual acts and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

If convicted, Maxwell faces up to 35 years in prison. She is set to stand trial in July.

Brad Paisley Replaces Taylor Swift On Nashville Mural

Taylor Swift has been removed from a well-known downtown Nashville mural located on Legends Corner, a bar located next to the Ryman Auditorium.

The mural includes country artists such as Blake Shelton, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and more. Swift has been replaced on the mural by Brad Paisley, with his image sitting in the chair where Swift previously appeared.

The mural is the work of artist Tim Davis, who is in the process of overhauling the mural. David wrote in an email to USA Today that “ultimately, the changes are not up to me, but up to the owners of the Legends Corner bar. … They have had the intention from the start to change it up once in a while, taking some artists off and adding others.” Davis is a fan of Swift, but added, “I have heard many complaints here in Nashville about Taylor being on the wall with country legends since she is currently focused mainly on pop.”

Cardi B Settles $30 Million Lawsuit With Former Manager

CARDI B has settled a $30 million lawsuit against her by former manager KLENORD “SHAFT” RAPHAEL.

Back in 2018, Shaft filed a $10 million breach of contract lawsuit against Cardi, claiming she broke the agreement to sign with Quality Control. His original lawsuit claimed he helped with Cardi’s breakthrough by securing her appearance on “Love & Hip Hop” and connecting the rap star to publishers and producers who created her breakthrough hit “Bodak Yellow.”  However Cardi denied these allegations, later filing a $30 million counterclaim accusing him of signing her to a deal without her lawyer present. She claimed he breached their agreement by not providing accurate accounts of her earnings, as well as stealing her earnings.

Now after two years, the lawsuit has been entirely dismissed with prejudice, meaning neither party involved can bring the other back into court over this dispute.

Halsey apologizes for sharing Instagram photo of her depicting eating disorder

Halsey had to delete a photo she posted on her Instagram stories that was triggering for some fans. When asked to share a photo of her “lowest point,” the singer shared a mirror selfie of her body from when she was struggling with an eating disorder. Followers began calling her out for not having a proper trigger warning before the photo.

Halsey wrote on Twitter, “TW: disordered eating I am very sorry for posting a photo of myself depicting my struggle with ED without a sufficient trigger warning. I was very nervous to post it and didn’t think properly. I had positive intentions. I would never want to harm someone who shares my struggle.” She said that the post was immediately taken down, and continued, “I don’t need to be yelled at in the name of being educated right now. I made an honest mistake because I was nervous to share one of the worst times of my life with tens millions of people. My desire to be confident overshadowed my knowledge of how to share triggering content.”

Safety is top priority for Brett Young in 2021

Riker BrothersThough Brett Young is looking ahead to a brighter 2021, he’s remaining conscious of the COVID-19 pandemic, and going into the new year with the mindset that the world will not suddenly return to “normal.”

“I think one thing that I’ve really been focusing on is that there’s not gonna be a day where we go, ‘All of this is gone. Back to business as usual,’” Brett says. “And so I think with that, January 1st, there’s not gonna be one thing that takes us all the way back to where we were.  There isn’t. It’s impossible.”

Safety is still the number-one priority for the singer as he returns to work, but with the well-being of his wife Taylor and one-year-old daughter, Presley, at top of mind, as well as the health and safety of his co-workers.

“I think our responsibility is to continue to be safe because we all have a limited understanding of what this is and what’s going on, and so, I wanna be responsible to myself and my family and their wellness, but also to the stranger that I’m walking by on the street,” says Brett.  “So, we’re just trying to do our best as a family and as a group and a band to work as much as we can, to make sure we’re sharing music whenever it’s possible, but to be responsible and safe about it at the same time.”

In addition to releasing a new album in 2021, Brett also has a string of tour dates lined up in the spring, beginning with a show on April 8 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Taylor Swift replaced by Brad Paisley in country music mural

Taylor Hill/FilmMagicTaylor Swift has been replaced by Brad Paisley on a mural in Nashville.

A portrait of country music legends including Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson and more is situated at Legend’s Corner next to the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. The original piece featured Taylor sitting between Johnny and Willie, but she was recently painted over with Brad in her place.

USA Today reports that the swap comes in response to tourists’ complaints about Taylor’s presence on the mural — disgruntled by her transition from country to pop music — prompting the bar’s owners to swap out the megastar with the “Letter to Me” singer.

“I have heard many complaints here in Nashville about Taylor being on the wall with country legends since she is currently focused mainly on pop. Some inebriated bar hoppers have spit on her image specifically, feeling betrayed by her venture from country,” artist Tim Davis says.

“I guess this is to be expected, but by in large, the people of Nashville love her, as do I,” he adds.

Taylor’s removal is not the only change happening to the mural, as Tim has been tasked with adding three new stars to the piece, including a female artist who will be placed in between Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks

Tim plans to create a mural dedicated solely to Taylor and her vast music legacy and has started a GoFund Me page to cover the costs.
