1 Dead, 12 missing after ship capsizes off Louisiana Coast

The U.S. Coast Guard in Louisiana said that one body was recovered, six people were rescued and 12 people were still missing after a commercial lift vessel carrying 19 people capsized in the Gulf of Mexico.  The National Weather Service said a rare low-pressure system had formed Tuesday off the coast of Louisiana, which generated unusually rough seas in the area.

Sector Coast Guard Commander Captain Will Watson said at a news conference in New Orleans that winds were reported between 130 and 145 kph and seas were between 2 and 3 meters high at the time the Coast Guard believes the ship capsized late Tuesday. A spokesman for the owner of the ship, Seacor Marine transportation company, said the vessel was the 39-meter lift boat Seacor Power. Watson told reporters 19 people were aboard the vessel when it left port Tuesday.

The Coast Guard said two of its vessels arrived at the scene within 30 minutes and pulled two people from the water. Other vessels at the scene rescued four others.

Reba McEntire postpones ‘Reba: Live in Concert Tour’ until 2022

Reba McEntire has pushed back her scheduled headlining tour until 2022. The Reba: Live in Concert Tour — a new tour — includes 12 of the 13 cities on her summer 2021 Arena Tour. A planned show in St. Paul, Minn., has been fully canceled. The new tour will begin in Evansville, Ind., on Jan. 13, 2022 and take her through mid-March.

The tour was originally scheduled to begin in March 2020 but was pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Reba also had to cancel several Las Vegas shows with Brooks & Dunn that were scheduled for 2020. There’s no word on if, or when, those will be rescheduled.

“We cannot wait to get back out on the road and bring you our brand new show,” McEntire posted on social media. “If you’ve got your tickets, hang on to them — they’ll be good for the new dates. We’ve waited as long as we possibly could to make a decision, but unfortunately we’re not going to be able to play our 2021 Reba: Live in Concert dates. As much as I wish we could get back out on the road, it’s just not possible yet.”

Rina Sawayama teams up with Elton John for new version of “Chosen Family”

Rina Sawayama has released a new version of her song “Chosen Family,” featuring Elton John. The new track comes with a music video featuring Sawayama and Elton John performing together at the piano.

“Chosen Family” was originally released on the artist’s 2020 album SAWAYAMA. Sawayama said on the new collab: “It was such a joy and honour to rework “Chosen Family” with the legendary Elton John. The song means so much to both of us, and recording it together was such a special experience I will never forget. I got shivers when I heard his voice through the monitor and became emotional when he added the piano parts. Elton has been such a huge supporter from before the album, and when we finally met to record this song we clicked from the get go. I hope people can hear the magic!

Chris Janson is “back at it” with new tour dates for 2021

John Shearer/Getty Images for Academy of Country Music

After staying at home for a year, Chris Janson is among the country artists who will be heading back out on the road in 2021. The singer announced his Back At It Tour on social media this week, revealing 30 dates, with the promise of more to be added.

Kicking off on April 16 in Mississippi, the run will extend through early December, concluding in Detroit. A full list of dates and details is available on the singer's tour calendar.

Like many other country artists, Chris has largely had to halt touring since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020. In April of that year, he debuted an unreleased song called “Put Me Back to Work,” which spoke to the plight of the millions of Americans who’d lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

He's now among the first major country artists to announce new tour dates. Eric Church and Kane Brown are two more performers who've got tours on the books for this fall.

Chris Stapleton reschedules another batch of All American Road Show tour dates

ABC

Chris Stapleton has had to postpone another round of tour dates on his All American Road Show, due to continuing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tour’s start date has moved from June to July, with a large swath of shows now moved to 2022. The singer shared the rescheduled dates with his fans on social media, also letting them know that tickets will be honored on the new dates, and refunds for those unable to attend will be available for 30 days at the point of purchase.

The current iteration of Chris’ All American Road Show was first scheduled for 2020, but shifted to 2021 when COVID-19 shutdowns began. The tour was then planned to begin in April, but last month he postponed its first dates.

In addition to the rescheduled shows, one stop — in Atlantic City, New Jersey — has been cancelled.

As of the singer’s current tour calendar, the 2021 All American Road Show is expected to kick off in July in Milwaukee.

Reba McEntire reschedules this year’s shows to 2022, teases “big news” to come

ABC

Reba McEntire is moving a string of 2021 dates, which were scheduled to begin in July, to early 2022 due to continuing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tour will now kick off on January 13, 2022 in Evansville, Indiana, according to a social media update from the star.

“We've waited as long as we possibly could to make a decision, but unfortunately we're not going to be able to play our 2021 Reba: Live in Concert dates,” Reba explained. “As much as I wish we could get back out on the road, it's just not possible yet. However, don't worry…we are going to reschedule the dates for 2022.”

Reba added that tickets previously purchased will remain good for the new dates in 2022. The arena dates have already been rescheduled once; they were originally set for summer of 2020 before the outbreak of the virus.

Unfortunately, one date Reba had on the books for 2021 wasn't able to be rescheduled: That’s the July 16, 2021 stop she'd planned for St. Paul, Minnesota. Tickets purchased for that show will be refunded.

Despite the disappointment of the postponed tour, Reba did tease something exciting in the months to come.

“I've got some big news coming later this year that I hope will be worth the wait for all of us!” she added. “Stay tuned for some exciting announcements on tour, music and more coming soon.”

While she didn't share any additional details about the forthcoming news, her socials do offer a possible clue. Earlier this week, Reba posted a recent video from the studio of herself singing “Can't Even Get the Blues,” her first-ever chart-topping country hit, which she originally released in 1982.  It remains to be seen what that means.

Kane Brown’s Worldwide Beautiful’ takes the trophy for ACM Video of the Year

Jason Kempin/CMT2020/Getty Images for CMT

Kane Brown is an early 2021 ACM winner. During a CBS This Morning appearance Wednesday, Kane was surprised live on air with the news that he’s won ACM Video of the Year for “Worldwide Beautiful.”

Kane released the song in June of 2020 in the wake of George Floyd's death, amid a summer where protests across the United States were calling for racial equality and an end to police brutality against Black people. “Worldwide Beautiful” shares a poignant message of unity, but Kane says he actually created the song long before releasing it.

“The crazy thing is I wrote this a year before George Floyd,” he pointed out during his interview. “I lived it growing up, so this was just me saying [that] everybody should just love everybody. All this hatred and everything should just stop.”

Upon its release, both the song and music video benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, a national organization that advocates for after-school programs for young people across the country.

The “Worldwide Beautiful” video enforces the song's powerful message that unity can overcome violence and hate. It features a number of children, including the singer's own daughter, Kingsley Rose.

Kane is the first solo Black artist to win the ACM Video of the Year category. He's also nominated for Album of the Year at the ACMs, and he'll also perform during the Sunday telecast, which begins at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
