At least 6 dead in highway crash involving passenger van on Georgia interstate

At least six people died in a highway crash involving a passenger van in Georgia on Sunday. According to police, the crash was reported at about 7 p.m. on Saturday in the northbound lanes of I-85 at the split to I-985 in Georgia’s Gwinett County, about 35 miles north of Atlanta.

Police Sgt. Michele Pihera said callers initially reported a vehicle on it side engulfed in flames as passersby attempted to pull victims to safety. Pihera said six people died at the scene and several others were transported to local hospitals. A bystander sustained a minor injury and denied hospital transport. There were 16 people in the van at the time of the crash and they were from a sober living group.

Those at the scene did not provide additional information on how the crash occurred but said another vehicle may have been involved. The crash caused I-985 to be shut down for several hours on Saturday evening before reopening at 11 p.m.

ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan is headed back out on the road.

He’ll launch his Proud to Be Right Here Tour July 8 in Syracuse, New York, with Dylan ScottRunaway June, and Caylee Hammack joining him along the way.

“There is nothing more gratifying about writing and recording music than getting to play it live for the fans,” Luke says. “There's several songs off my new album that I've never performed live.”

“I can't believe this moment is nearly here when we get to hop on the tour bus and roll into towns across America and get back to doing what we do best,” he adds. “What we live to do!”

The tour’s name, of course, is a tip of the hat to Luke’s latest album, Born Here Live Here Die Here, which was just re-released as deluxe album earlier this month.

Pre-sales start on Tuesday, before tickets become available to the general public on Friday.

You can check out the complete list of dates here, with the trek set to wrap October 16 in San Bernardino, California.

Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood see major streaming hikes after ACMs performances

Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood are two of the artists who saw the biggest bumps in streaming numbers for songs they performed at the 2021 ACM Awards, according to data from Billboard.

Keith performed “Tumbleweed,” off his latest album, The Speed of Now Part 1. That song saw the biggest streaming gain of any song performed at the show: a 64% increase compared to the three days leading up to the awards show.

Meanwhile, Carrie saw big boosts for her versions of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace,” both of which she performed on the ACM stage. Those two songs are from her recently released album My Savior, Carrie's first-ever gospel collection.

Ashley McBryde, Chris Stapleton, Ryan Hurd, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and more also made big impressions with their ACMs performances, notching significant hikes in streaming numbers after the awards show.

The ACM Awards took place last Sunday, April 18 in Nashville.

Luke Bryan's Crash My Playa 2022 sells out during the pre-sale

Tickets for Luke Bryan's Crash My Playa 2022 were supposed to go on sale to the general public on Friday, but there's been a change of plans: The event has already sold out in record time during the pre-sale, which began on Wednesday.

The pre-sale offered returning Crash My Playa attendees and Luke's fan club members the first chance to access tickets. But 24 hours before sales were supposed to open to the public, all tickets had been claimed.

That's the fastest sell-out of any Crash My Playa in the event's seven-year history, though all of the previous six festivals eventually sold out too. Fans still hoping to head to Crash My Playa next January can join a waiting list for tickets.

Crash My Playa 2022 is set to take place January 19-22 at Mexico's Moon Palace Cancun. Along with two headlining sets from Luke, Jason Aldean will also join the party to perform on one of the four nights. An additional headliner, plus a full schedule of performers and activities, will be announced in the coming months.

Miranda Lambert + Elle King dial up the party vibes once again with a Goldhouse Remix of their “Drunk” duet

Back in February, real-life pals and former tour mates Miranda Lambert and Elle King teamed up for a dizzying new party anthem, “Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home).”

The track quickly became a fan favorite, shooting to the top of the Billboard Country Digital Sales and Rock Digital Sales charts and also finding a spot within the top 30 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The country-rocker pair also opened up the 2021 ACM Awards with “Drunk,” and their performance led to even more gains as the song saw a significant sales boost in the 24 hours after the show.

Now, the twosome are dialing up the party vibes even more, sharing a new Goldhouse Remix of “Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)” that further leans into the song's potential as a club-ready, danceable hit. The new version of the song is out now.

Miranda is continuing to show off her musical versatility with “Drunk,” which is in stark contrast to another collaborative project she has in the works. The singer teamed up with longtime songwriting partners and fellow Texans Jon Randall and Jack Ingram for The Marfa Tapes, a stripped-down, acoustic album of songs they wrote in the town of Marfa, Texas.

“Fill Them Boots”: Chris Lane's next chapter kicks off with a big-hearted, swagger-filled single

Chris Lane puts a positive spin on heartbreak in his newest single, “Fill Them Boots,” an endearing and swagger-heavy offer to help a new love interest recuperate from a breakup.

Chris co-wrote the song, which he says is rooted in real-life experience: He drew from his early memories of dating his now-wife, former The Bachelor personality Lauren Bushnell.

“I had the idea for a long time, and I'm incredibly proud of the way it turned out. It makes me think of how my wife and I first met, so I hope it's a song people can easily relate to as well,” the singer explains. “I can't wait to play it live and hear y'all sing it!”

It's not the first time Chris has drawn inspiration from his own love story for his music. His latest chart-topper, “Big, Big Plans,” was also inspired by Lauren, and Chris even filmed his proposal to Lauren for the music video of the song. The couple are currently expecting their first child together.

Chris further brings the “Fill Them Boots” story line to life with a summer-ready music video, filmed on the Florida beaches of Madeira and St. Petersburg.
