Trisha Yearwood meets Dr. Anthony Fauci: “I almost asked him to sign my vaccination card!”

Country power couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were in Washington, D.C. last weekend, as Garth was celebrated as a Kennedy Center Honoree. But during their time in the city, Trisha got a surprise of her own: She got to meet Dr. Anthony Fauci.

On social media, Trisha shared a snapshot of herself with the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “The opportunity to meet him and thank him in person was not lost on me,” she wrote in the caption, along with a message of encouragement to her fans to consider their vaccination options.

“I almost asked him to sign my vaccination card!” the singer added.

Trisha recently received her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine after coming down with the virus in February. She subsequently explained that while she fortunately made a full recovery, her lack of taste and smell were lingering symptoms that persisted even after she tested negative.

Shania Twain teases a high-energy return to Vegas: “It's going to be a little nutty, but it'll be a fun nutty!”

Shania Twain has plans to resume her Let's Go! Las Vegas residency in December 2021 and February 2022, and the singer is pulling out all the stops for a fun, high-energy return to the stage.

“It'll be a lot of fun,” the singer tells People. “I think, particularly, because we've been isolated, apart so long. I think once we're reunited, it's going to be a little nutty, but it'll be a fun nutty!”

Shania is also the creative director of her show, and she says it'll continue to be a colorful, immersive experience on every level. “There's a lot of visual art going on. It's high energy because I'm hyperactive anyway, so I'm everywhere. And then I feed off the audience,” she adds.

Plus, the upcoming Vegas sets are taking place during some big holidays: For example, Shania's got a show booked for February 14 — Valentine's Day — that she hints will be “very romantic.” Earlier in the run, she's got something festive planned for her December dates, too.

“…I'm going to do something special for the holiday spirit as well,” the singer explains. “I mean, I just got to go all out because I have not seen my fans in a year and by the time I'm back onstage, it'll be almost a year and a half.”

Tickets for Shania's Vegas residency go on sale to the general public on June 1 at 10AM PT.

Jordan Davis is launching his headlining, 17-date Buy Dirt Tour in September

Just days after releasing his Buy Dirt EP, Jordan Davis has revealed plans for a headlining fall 2021 club tour that takes its name from the project. The Buy Dirt Tour launches September 9 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and runs through mid-December.

Joining him on tour will be rising country group Seaforth as well as Mackenzie Porter, the latter of whom currently has a duet with Dustin Lynch, called “Thinking Bout You,” climbing the country charts.

Tickets for the shows are on sale now. You can pick up yours on Jordan’s website.

Speaking of all-star collabs, the title track of Jordan's EP — and the song that lends its name to his tour — is a duet with none other than Luke Bryan. Jordan and Luke will perform that song during the June 1 episode of NBC's Today.

It's been an exciting few weeks for Jordan, who had some personal news to share along with his new music and touring plans. He and his wife, Kristen, are expecting their second child, a baby boy. He'll continue to juggle music and family as the year progresses: The singer recently told People that his wife's due date is in September, the same month that his tour is slated to begin.

Dierks Bentley's Seven Peaks Festival will return for Labor Day weekend 2021

Dierks Bentley will be back in the mountains of Buena Vista, Colorado in 2021. The singer announced the return of his Seven Peaks Festival during a livestream show on Twitch Tuesday night.

Once again, Seven Peaks Festival will close out the summer with a three-day event over Labor Day Weekend. The fun takes place September 3-5, 2021.

It'll be the third year that Seven Peaks has taken place. The festival launched in 2018 and returned the following year, but COVID-19 shutdowns forced the event — along with much of the rest of the live music industry — to take a break in 2020.

More details for the 2021 event, including lineup info, will be revealed over the weeks ahead. Previous performers at Seven Peaks have included artists like Maren Morris, Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan and Tenille Townes. Of course, Dierks can be expected to perform at his festival, and his own 90s cover band, the Hot Country Knights, will more than likely make an appearance, too.

President Biden asks to have intelligence agencies further investigate origins of COVID-19

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden said he has asked the intelligence community to “redouble their efforts” to find the likely origins of COVID-19 and provide him with a report within 90 days. Biden said that questions continue to grow about whether the coronavirus was caused by an accident in a Chinese laboratory or if it developed from human contact from an infected animal. Biden said in a statement, “I have also asked that this effort include work by our national labs and other agencies of our government to augment the intelligence community’s efforts.”

Biden said he’s asked for further inquiries that may be required, including specific questions for China. The President added that the U.S. intelligence community has “coalesced around two likely scenarios,” but “had not reached a definitive conclusion.” Most of the intelligence community lean toward the likelihood that the virus emerged from human contact with an infected animal, however others lean towards the possibility of a laboratory accident.  Said Biden: “The majority of the intelligence community members do not believe there is sufficient information to assess one to be more likely than the other. The United States will also keep working with like-minded partners around the world to press China to participate in a full, transparent, evidence-based international investigation and to provide access to all relevant data and evidence.”

Republicans senators questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, about the lab leak theory at a Senate appropriations committee hearing Wednesday. Fauci said he still believes the virus occurred naturally, but supported the idea that investigations should continue to determine what happened.
