Gabby Barrett is “really excited” to bring daughter Baylah on tour

Gabby Barrett is ready to hit the road with a baby in tow!

The breakout country star and her husband, fellow American Idol season 16 contestant Cade Foehner, welcomed daughter Baylah May in January, and the couple is equipped to take her on tour this summer, when she hits the road as an opening act on Thomas Rhett‘s Center Point Road Tour beginning in August. In fact, Gabby refers to their tour bus as a “home on wheels.”

“She will definitely be with us,” Gabby tells Entertainment Tonight. “I’m really excited for her to be able to watch us on the side of the stage, and as she grows, become more aware of what we do and songs and things like that. And then eventually we can write songs about her and it will just be so sweet.”

The American Idol finalist adds that at five months old, Baylah is already a fan of music.

“I’m definitely looking forward to getting to now experience live shows and performances, and all of those things, with her with us,” the new mom continues. “She’s a very lullaby baby right now, so she loves music and falls asleep to little music.”

Gabby walked away with three wins at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, for Top Country Female Artist, Top Country Song for “I Hope,” and Top Collaboration for her remix of “I Hope,” featuring Charlie Puth.

“A riser indeed”: Dierks Bentley performs private concert for fan with cancer

Dierks Bentley recently helped raise the spirits of a fan who has cancer.

After a friend from Dierks’ hometown in Arizona reached out about a fan named Baylee Barradas who’s battling sarcoma, the country star treated her to a private concert in her living room.

Dierks posted the heartfelt moment on Instagram, sharing a photo of he and Baylee, who’s wearing a Dierks Bentley T-shirt, alongside a video of an acoustic performance of his motivational hit, “Riser.”

“Didn't think anything could top the recent club shows we did but that was before I got to play a private concert for my new friend Baylee Barradas. One of my hometown friends brought Baylee's fight with cancer to my attention,” Dierks writes alongside the video where Baylee can be seen mouthing along to the lyrics. “Sweet girl really going thru it. hard hard stuff. Could use all the prayers.”

Dierks also gave a shout-out to Kelsea Ballerini, who appeared on a surprise video call to chat with Baylee.

“Loved meeting sweet Baylee!!! A riser indeed. So glad you called,” Kelsea writes in the comment section, with Little Big Town‘s Karen Fairchild, Brothers Osborne, Chris Lane and Tenille Townes among those sharing their support for Baylee.

Dierks recently wrapped up his five-date High Times & Hangovers Tour. He’ll embark on the Beers on Me Tour this summer, kicking off on August 13 in Salt Lake City.

Gwen Stefani steals one of Blake Shelton's shirts while cleaning his closet

Looks like Gwen Stefani did a little shopping inside of Blake Shelton‘s closet instead of doing some spring cleaning.

Over the weekend, the “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” singer shared a snap to her Instagram stories of her gleefully wearing one of her fiancé’s plaid shirts.  “Cleaning out @blakeshelton closet,” Stefani captioned the update and added a red heart emoji, according to screenshots taken by Entertainment Tonight.

The Grammy winner then modeled herself wearing the oversized, bright orange and blue flannel and joked, “We’re for sure keeping this shirt.”

Shelton, 44, has not reacted to his soon-to-be wife swiping one of his signature plaid shirts but it’s only a matter of time before he returns the favor.

Stefani, 51, and Shelton met in 2015 on the set of The Voice and became engaged last October.  The two have yet to announce a wedding date but the country crooner previously revealed that the song the two will have their first dance to will be “If You Leave” from the Pretty in Pink soundtrack.

President Biden to double federal funding for extreme weather events

The White House announced on Monday that the Biden administration is doubling federal funding to better prepare for hurricanes and other severe weather events and asking NASA to collect more climate data. The announcement came ahead of Biden’s visit Monday to Federal Emergency Management Agency headquarters to receive a briefing on the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season.

During the FEMA visit, Biden outlined $1 billion in added funding to help communities prepare for severe weather and other disasters. The money will shift the federal focus from “reactive disaster spending” to research-supported community preparedness. The money will go to the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program that helps areas prepare in advance for natural disasters, such as hurricanes and wildfires. A portion of the money will focus on disadvantaged areas.

NASA will also launch a new mission for an Earth System Observatory to better understand and track how climate change is impacting weather and communities.

U.S. warns against travel to Japan ahead of Olympics amid surge in COVID-19 cases

The State Department and health officials are warning Americans against travel to Japan — which is preparing to host the Olympics in just two months — due to a of a surge in coronavirus cases in the country. The alerts don’t ban U.S. citizens from visiting the country, but they could have an impact on insurance rates for travelers and may factor into decisions by Olympic athletes and spectators on whether to compete in or attend the games, which are due to start in July. There was no immediate indication as to what effect the warnings might have on would-be Olympic-goers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a new COVID-19 update: “Travelers should avoid all travel to Japan. Because of the current situation in Japan even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants and should avoid all travel to Japan.”  Following the CDC alert, the State Department announced: “Do not travel to Japan due to COVID-19.”  The State Department’s warning raised the department’s travel alert from a Level 3 -“Reconsider travel”, to a Level 4 “Do not travel.” The previous Level 3 alert was issued on April 21.

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee said in a statement it still anticipates that American athletes will be able to safely compete at the Tokyo Games: “We feel confident that the current mitigation practices in place for athletes and staff by both the USOPC and the Tokyo Organizing Committee, coupled with the testing before travel, on arrival in Japan, and during Games time, will allow for safe participation of Team USA athletes this summer.”

Tokyo and Osaka and several other areas are under a state of emergency until May 31 that is likely to be extended. There is fear of new variants spreading with only a tiny percentage of the Japanese — estimated at 2% to 4% — vaccinated.
