Kelsea Ballerini releases video for “I Quit Drinking”

Kelsea Ballerini had shared the music video for her duet with LANY, “I Quit Drinking”, co-written by Ballerini alongside LANY frontman Paul Klein and Nicolle Galyon,

In the music video, directed by Blythe Thomas, the two sing together in the pouring rain, “washing away the hangover of a past relationship and the memories of an ex.” Ballerini said about the collaboration: “I’ve been a fan of LANY for a long time. It was really amazing to work together on ‘I Quit Drinking.’ We’ve all got Tennessee in common, and we found this sweet spot between rock, pop, and country for the song. It’s a little different for the both of us.”

Ballerini is set to hit the road later this year on the Remember This Tour with The Jonas Brothers while LANY recently released their album, Mama’s Boy (Deluxe), which is available now everywhere.

Dierks Bentley pays tribute to fan who passed away from cancer

Dierks Bentley is paying homage to a young fan who passed away from cancer.

In May, Dierks shared photos and videos from his visit with Baylee Barradas, a fan in his home state of Arizona battling sarcoma, who he performed a private concert for at her home. The “Riser” singer revealed in a social media post on Monday that Baylee has passed away.

“The phrase honored and humbled gets used a lot but it is the only one appropriate for how it felt to be included by this family and be able to spend this past weekend with them, Baylee, her friends, and her dogs Arlo and Arnie,” Dierks shares in a sentimental letter alongside photos of him performing at Baylee’s bedside, surrounded by her family.

“Baylee’s father said to me, ‘it’s never too late to make a lifelong friend.’ Nothing could be more true for me and my friend Baylee. God bless,” he concludes.

Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Tyler Hubbard and Cole Swindell also made videos for Baylee.

Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves & more sign letter supporting Equality Act

Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves are among the more than 300 artists who have signed a letter supporting the passage of the Equality Act.

Created by The Ally Coalition and the Equality Time Coalition, the “Music In Action for The Equality Act! is a letter on behalf of the music community in support of the Equality Act, legislation introduced by Congress that would prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, protecting members of the LGBTQIA+ community from facing discrimination in the workplace, housing, education and more.

“As musicians and artists, we strongly believe that all people should be welcomed and celebrated as their true, authentic selves,” The Ally Coalition states. “We believe that the passage of the Equality Act is an essential part in protecting trans youth and all LGBTQ people by providing full protections to the most marginalized communities from discrimination.”

Brothers Osborne and Tenille Townes are among the other country artists who have signed the letter. T.J. Osborne made history earlier this year when he became the first openly gay artist signed to a major country label.

Taylor Swift, Bebe Rexha and James Taylor are also part of the vast list of artists who have added their names to the letter.

American Airlines cancels 100s of flights due to maintenance issues and staffing shortages

American Airlines has canceled hundreds of flights scheduled for the weekend and Monday due to staffing shortages, including employees out sick, as well as maintenance issues.  The airline, the world’s largest, canceled 123 flights scheduled for Saturday, 178 for Sunday, and 97 for Monday, mostly involving Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
American Airlines spokesperson Sarah Jantz said: “We made targeted changes with the goal of impacting the fewest number of customers by adjusting flights in markets where we have multiple options for re-accommodation. The first few weeks of June have brought unprecedented weather to our largest hubs, heavily impacting our operation and causing delays, canceled flights and disruptions to crew member schedules and our customers’ plans.”

American said it also may continue to cancel at least 50 to 60 flights per day during the remainder of June and 50 to 80 flights per day in July, but that it will try to notify customers far ahead of their scheduled flight. American’s flight cancellations and schedule changes come amid a surge in travel as vaccine rates slowly rise and people become more comfortable getting on planes, causing staffing shortages at a number of major airlines and the TSA.
