Jameson Rodgers marries singer-songwriter Sarah Allison Turner

Jameson Rodgers is a married man!

The “Some Girl” hitmaker tied the knot with fellow singer-songwriter Sarah Allison Turner on September 5 at The Venue at Birchwood in Spring Hill, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, People confirms.

The couple shared their personally written vows with one another, and Sarah asked her mother and sister to write a motivational message on the bottom of her shoes.

“I’ve never felt more loved than I did last Sunday with all our friends and family in one place celebrating Sarah and me. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Sarah,” Jameson raves.

The couple met at a songwriting workshop at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville in 2011 and dated for six years before Jameson popped the question in 2020. They plan to honeymoon in Mexico later this year.

Jameson will release his debut album, Bet You’re from a Small Town, on Friday. He continues on his Cold Beer Calling My Name Tour through December, with his new bride serving as a supporting act on select dates.

“One of my favorites”: Thomas Rhett is “Country Again” at #1

Thomas Rhett proves it’s good to be “Country Again,” as his latest single reaches the top of the country charts.

The singer woke up to the news on Monday morning that “Country Again” has become his 18th #1 song. To celebrate, Thomas turned to Instagram to share his gratitude in a video, and reveal that he spent the morning watching Moana with his youngest daughter, Lennon.

“I wrote this in my basement in the dead center of 2020 and never imagined that it would be the #1 song in the country,” Thomas says, citing the track as “one of my favorites.”

“So thank y’all,” Thomas declares. “Thank you for everything, for all the support.”

But the video didn’t end without some parting words from one-year-old Lennon, who was sitting by her dad’s side on the couch, with Thomas coaching her to say “bye bye” and “love you.”

“Country Again” is the title track of the singer’s latest album, which also features previous #1 hit, “What’s Your Country Song.”

Thomas continues on his Center Point Road Tour through October 9.

“It's fun to be back!”: Carrie Underwood delivers new 'Sunday Night Football' intro

Carrie Underwood is ready for Sunday night with a flashy new Sunday Night Football intro.

The video finds Carrie strutting through a digitized tailgating scene while delivering her powerhouse vocals on the theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” set to the tune of Joan Jett‘s “I Hate Myself For Loving You.”

The clip opens with Carrie singing outside of a football stadium as fans enter waving flags in the air. That’s followed by clips of dancing NFL players and past game highlights. Carrie then enters the stadium, taking a stage that lifts her off the ground as she’s surrounded by twirling spotlights.

“It is always a pleasure to get to do the Sunday Night Football open,” the superstar says in a statement, adding that the “super high-tech set” was a “cool environment” to perform in. “I felt like I was in a stadium being on a set in L.A. It was super cool, and I feel like it turned out that way as well,” Carrie continued. “But we're all about bringing the hype and energy and getting people ready for a great game. So, it's fun to be back!”

This marks Carrie’s ninth year singing the Sunday Night Football theme song.

Kacey Musgraves sets fire to the VMAs with “star-crossed”

Kacey Musgraves set the scene with the live debut performance of “star-crossed” at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The country star called on fire and hearts to tell the story, making her way to the center of the stage, where she was surrounded by lit candles and neon hearts with a dagger struck through the middle. Later, a larger-than-life heart was lit on fire behind Kacey during her performance, with projected flames in the background adding to the affect, illuminating the dark venue and igniting cheers from the crowd.

This marked Kacey’s first performance on the VMAs. “star-crossed” is the title track and lead single off her new album, which dropped on Friday.

FBI releases declassified document into Saudi links to 9/11

On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the FBI released a newly declassified document about the 9/11 attacks Saturday, which reveals details about the logistical support given to two of the Saudi hijackers in the lead-up to the terrorist operation. The 16-page document is the first investigative record to be shared since President Joe Biden ordered a declassification review of files about 9/11 last week.

The heavily redacted document provides a summary of an FBI interview in 2015 with a man who had regular contact with Saudi nationals in the U.S. The man aided Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, the first hijackers to arrive in the U.S., once they arrived in the country. It also details contacts the hijackers had with Saudi associates in the U.S,; however, it does not provide evidence that senior Saudi government officials were complicit in the attacks.

The document was released shortly after Biden marked the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks; victims’ families issued a statement last month saying Biden would not be welcome at any memorial events as long as the documents remained classified. Biden has ordered the Justice Department and other agencies to review which documents can be declassified over the next six months.

Before the document was released, the Saudi Embassy in Washington said in a statement Thursday that it welcomed the full declassification of records to “end the baseless allegations against the Kingdom once and for all.” It added that any suggestion that Saudi Arabia was complicit in the attacks was “categorically false.”

Why Ashley McBryde's serving up “Whiskey and Country Music” as a taste of her next record

Ashley McBryde is one of the most-nominated artists at the upcoming 55th Annual CMA Awards, competing for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single and Song of the Year for her top-10 hit “One Night Standards.”

But the “Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega” hitmaker is not just sitting back waiting for her next trophy. She’s already hard at work on the follow-up to last year’s Never Will.

“We jumped back in the studio August 8th,” she recently told ABC Audio backstage at the Opry. “So this is our first time to make a record this way.”

“We usually get everything together,” she explains, “get our ducks in a row, go rehearse it, talk to [producer] Jay [Joyce] about it, select which ones we’re gonna keep, and go cut ’em. And we’re not able to do that right now ’cause we’re on the road.”

That means historic venues like the Grand Ole Opry are often testing grounds for the new tunes from Ashley and her band Deadhorse.

“We’re using soundchecks to kind of test and arrange a song, and then we may throw it in the set that night and see if it sinks or swims,” she says. “And that’s how we’re choosing what’s going on this record right now. So it’s a little bit nerve-racking, but the first three I’m very happy with.”

She adds, “We’re gonna do one of them tonight. We’re gonna do ‘Whiskey and Country Music’ tonight.”

This fall, you can listen for new music from Ashley as she’s on tour with longtime pal Luke Combs. Meanwhile, the Grand Ole Opry is counting down to its mammoth 5000th show on October 30.

4 injured after explosion at apartment complex near Atlanta

Authorities said that four people were injured after an explosion at an apartment complex in an Atlanta suburb Sunday afternoon. The Dunwoody, Georgia police department received a call at 1:24 p.m. about the explosion at the Arrive Apartments, a luxury apartment approximately 15 miles north of downtown Atlanta. At least 15 to 20 units of the three-story building were damaged in the blast, Dunwoody Deputy Fire Chief Melvin Carter told reporters at a news conference Sunday afternoon. Jaeson Daniels with DeKalb County Fire Rescue confirmed that four people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department completed its search and evacuation of the building and confirmed no one is trapped, the department said in a statement on Facebook on Sunday night. The structure was stabilized after rescue teams shored up the parts of the building that were structurally unsound so they could be searched, the fire department said.

According to the Dunwoody Fire Department, a leasing manager called Atlanta Gas prior to the explosion about a reported gas order, but the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
