Kacey Musgraves premieres video for new single “simple times”

Kacey Musgraves’ has released her latest video from her new album, “star-crossed.”  The video for “simple times” is from Musgraves ‘star-crossed: the film’ which will be streamed exclusively via Paramount+.

The video takes place near the conclusion of the first of three segments of a 50-minute film, which is a collaboration between Musgraves, director Bardia Zeinali, and Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born, Black Swan).  ‘star-crossed: the film’ was shot over ten days in Los Angeles and features cameos from Emmy Award-winner Eugene Levy, Victoria Pedretti, singer-songwriter Princess Nokia, Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race winner), and comedian Megan Stalter.

Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney charged with DUI after car crash

Rascal Flatts’ lead guitarist Joe Don Rooney was recently charged with driving under the influence following an incident in Williamson County, TN, early on September 9, just outside of Rooney’s home in Nashville. Rooney was arrested by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office at roughly 4 AM local time after crashing his vehicle into a tree near Fieldstone Park, TN. Rooney was booked into the Williamson County Jail around 7:20 AM local time and released on a $2,500 bond at about 10:17 AM local time.

Rascal Flatts’ did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The group, founded in 1999 by Rooney, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus, announced last year that they were retiring; however, the COVID pandemic forced the group to cancel their planned farewell tour last year.

Jason Derulo drops the music video for his latest single ‘Acapulco’

Jason Derulo is back with a new music video for the song “Acapulco.” The video, directed by Derulo, shows the singer and a group of friends get stranded on a beach where they are met by a mysterious blue-haired woman, who leads them into the jungle to party.

“Acapulco” is Derulo’s third song to be released this year; he released “Lifestyle” featuring Adam Levine in January and “Jalebi Baby” with Tesher in May. The 31-year-old also recently introduced the track to his fans by unveiling the official “Acapulco (Instrumental)” on his massively popular TikTok account. Derulo is among TikTok’s biggest superstars and the most popular active platinum-selling musician across the entire platform, boasting more than 49M followers and over 1.1B likes.

J Balvin announces 2022 ‘José’ tour during appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, J Balvin announced a new world tour kicking off in 2022.

The 36-year-old Balvin performed his song “In Da Getto” with Skrillex, which appears on Balvin’s new album, José, which also features the singles “Otra Noche sin Ti” with Khalid, “Qué Más Pues?” with María Becerra, “Otro Fili” with Jay Wheeler, “Que Locura” and “Perra” with Tokischa.

Balvin confirmed plans for a new North American tour; the José tour begins April 19, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas, and concludes June 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Tickets will be available for presale Sept. 13 at 12pm local time and for general sale on Sept. 17 through Ticketmaster.

Dan + Shay resume The (Arena) Tour with sold-out show

Dan + Shay are back, and better than ever. The duo, made up of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, celebrated the return of their highly-anticipated The (Arena) Tour with a sold-out show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, in Greenville, SC.

“Just wanna say thank y'all for the love tonight,” Dan + Shay said after the show. “We needed it more than you know.”

Dan + Shay were one of the first acts last year to announce they were canceling their tour, as cases of COVID-19 began to rise, vowing even then to make their shows better than ever in 2021.

“This tour is so important to us,” Dan said on Twitter at the time. “We've worked our entire lives to get to this position … We promise when we come back in 2021, the shows will be even bigger and even better than they were before.”

It’s a big week for Dan + Shay. In addition to resuming life on the road, they also received a CMA Award nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year, a category they share with Brothers OsborneFlorida Georgia LineBrooks & Dunn and Maddie & Tae.

Cole Swindell forms “Some Habits” with new single

Cole Swindell just dropped a brand-new song, and video! After his “Single Saturday Night” song became his 10th number-one hit, Cole has released the romantic ballad “Some Habits.” The song is from his upcoming studio album.

“I think a lot of people can relate to a song like ‘Some Habits’ — it’s a love song about being rough around edges but meeting someone that changes you for the better,” Cole says. “I feel like I have a deeper appreciation for getting to make music these days, especially with this opportunity to be back out on the road performing and sharing this music face-to-face with the fans.”

Cole is an established songwriter, but he didn’t write “Some Habits,” although he is grateful for those who shared his talents with him.

“Since I moved to Nashville, I have always had such deep respect for Scooter Carusoe and his body of work,” Cole notes. “Getting to record this song he co-wrote with two of the newest go-to songwriters, Josh Miller and Chris LaCorte, is really special.  I can’t wait for my fans to hear the song and see this video!”

Rascal Flatts' Joe Don Rooney arrested for DUI in Nashville

Rascal Flatts‘ Joe Don Rooney was arrested in Nashville early on the morning of Thursday, September 9.

According to The Tennessean, Joe Don, 45, crashed into a tree on Hillsboro Road, near Franklin, TN, located just outside of Nashville.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sharon Puckett confirmed Joe Don was arrested. He was booked into the Williamson County jail at 7:20 a.m. and released almost three hours later, at 10:17 a.m. He currently remains free on $2,500 bond Friday, online records show.

Last year, Rascal Flatts announced their Farewell Tour, though they’ve subsequently tabled it due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carrie Underwood was full of nerves during son Isaiah's baseball debut

In some ways, Carrie Underwood is just like everyone else, especially when it comes to her children. The country music superstar shared a video of her son, Isaiah, making his baseball debut, revealing that she was incredibly anxious about his performance.

“Isaiah made his baseball debut tonight!” Carrie captioned the sweet video. “I got more nervous watching him than I used to get when I watched his daddy play hockey!”

Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are proud parents to two sons, six-year-old Isaiah and Jacob, who is two. Mike played hockey for both the Ottawa Senators and the Nashville Predators before retiring for good in 2018.

Isaiah also made his album debut last year, joining his mom on “The Little Drummer Boy” from her holiday My Gift album. Three new songs will be added to her upcoming My Gift (Special Edition) album, out on September 24.

Jimmie Allen reveals elaborate disguise for Dancing with the Stars rehearsals

Jimmie Allen was well into Dancing with the Stars rehearsals before the cast was revealed. In a new post on social media, he shows off the elaborate disguise they used to hide his face prior to the cast announcment, leading some to believe he was a professional athlete instead of a singer.

“Back when people thought I was a football player walking into rehearsal. Haha Before the cast reveal of [Dancing with the Stars] we had to wear these face shields. I about tripped and fell like 8 times.”

Jimmie has already reached out for advice to several of his famous friends who have competed on DWTS.

“I talked to Chuck Wicks, he did it,” Jimmie shared on Good Morning America. “Lauren Alaina. I actually talked to AJ [McLean]Rashad JenningsBobby Bones. I know Nelly did it last season. They said it’s gonna be difficult, but it’s fun, and they’re not lying. These rehearsals … I never ballroom danced a day in my life. It’s rough.”

Walker Hayes gets “Fancy Like” a pop star with Kesha

Walker Hayes‘ viral crossover hit “Fancy Like” is getting some extra pop star power. The country rapper has just released a new version of the song, featuring Kesha

“It's going down.I'm yelling timber. I do words for a living and I don't even how to communicate my excitement,” Walker said on social media ahead of the song’s release. 

Kesha also sang the praises of “Fancy Like,” saying, “This song speaks to me on a very deep level.  I'm fancy like.. A southern b**** who loves a Waffle House after a night at the dive bar n karaoke.. How u fancy like?”

Walker included “Fancy Like” on his latest Country Stuff album. The song, which went viral thanks to a TikTok dance Walker posted with his daughter, Lela, has inspired two Applebee’s commercials, and the return of the restaurant chain’s famous Oreo shake.
