Kane Brown teases “Blessed & Free” collaboration with H.E.R.

Kane Brown just teased his new collaboration, “Blessed & Free,” with H.E.R. Kane shared a snippet of his new tune with the R&B star on social media, ahead of the tune’s September 30 release date.

This is far from Kane’s first collaboration outside of country music. He previously joined with R&B star Khalid for a remix of “Saturday Nights,” and with Khalid and Swae Lee for “Be Like That.” He also sang with John Legend on “Last Time I Say Sorry,” and had a chart-topping hit with EDM DJ Marshmello on “One Thing Right.”

Kane is currently out on his Blessed & Free Tour. He had to unexpectedly cancel a show scheduled for Saturday, September 25, in Tupelo, Mississippi, due to maintenance issues at the BancorpSouth Arena, where the concert was slated to be held.

Kane’s current single, “One Mississippi,” is sitting in the top 30 at radio.

Dolly Parton TikTok account exposed as fake

Sorry Dolly Parton fans, it looks like the country star hasn’t joined TikTok after all.

On Monday, many rejoiced after it appeared that Dolly joined the growing social media platform, but as it turns out, the account was a hoax.

The inaugural post showed the “9 to 5” singer stepping into the frame and declaring, “Woohoo! Well hello, I guess I'm on TikTok!” before taking a seat on a piano bench and adding, “I just dropped in to say everything's gonna be OK. You keep the faith.”

Many applauded her introduction to the platform, however, a rep for the 75-year-old icon confirmed on the Today show that the account was fake and encouraged fans to “take a closer look” at the “doctored” footage, which was actually a taken from an old video used to promote her Imagination Library website.

The account amassed over 700,000 followers and five million views before TikTok deleted it for violating community guidelines regarding impersonation.

Jarrod Ramos, gunman in Capital Gazette shooting, is sentenced to multiple life terms

A judge ordered on Tuesday that Jarrod Ramos, the 41-year-old man who opened fire in an attack at a Maryland newspaper three years ago that killed five journalists, will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Ramos took a gun to the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Md., in June 2018 and began indiscriminately firing at employees inside. Prosecutors said at trial that the attack was revenge for a story the paper published about him harassing a former classmate a decade ago. Ramos pleaded guilty in 2019 to five counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree assault and 11 counts of using a firearm in a felony crime of violence.

Ramos’ attorneys argued at trial that he should not be held criminally responsible due to mental illness. On Tuesday, Ramos was sentenced to five life sentences without the possibility of parole, plus 345 years. Judge Michael Wachs said before sentence: “To say the defendant showed a callous and cruel disregard for the sanctity of human life is simply an understatement. What I impose is what the defendant deserves.”

“Till There's Nothing Left”: How 50 Cent, 'Kelly & Ryan' are pushing Cam back onto the country airwaves

The week after her performance on Live with Kelly & RyanCam‘s new single, “Till There’s Nothing Left,” is breaking into the country airplay chart.

The “Burning House” hitmaker jokes a famous rapper may deserve some of the credit. But since the California native’s already worked with big names in the pop world like Sam SmithDiplo, and Harry Styles, you never know.

“We joke. [Writer/producer] Jeff [Bhasker] calls it the 50 Cent guitar,” she explains, while starting to sing “In Da Club,” before slipping into her own hit. “‘Go shorty, it’s your birthday!’ But that’s happening… ‘I wanna steal every breath of fire.'”

“It has like a chug to it,” Cam continues, “and you’re like, ‘Okay. This is going somewhere.’ So it’s a banger.”

Lyrically, the song Cam co-wrote with Bhasker, Tyler Johnson, and Hillary Lindsey focuses on an all-consuming love.

“The thesis statement of this song and the heart of the song, it’s like a love that is just all-encompassing,” she tells ABC Audio. “Like, ‘But I just gotta give you everything. I gotta sit in my desires, and I’m not embarrassed by it. I’m just like everything, I want to give everything I am, and disappear into you.'”

“Like it’s very ‘I don’t want the date to end at the [end of the night]’ with your boyfriend or whatever in high school,” she adds.

“Till There’s Nothing Left” is from Cam’s sophomore album, The Otherside. Later this week, she plays the Austin City Limits Festival in the Texas capital.

Tresury Secretary Yellen warns U.S. may run out of money by Oct. 18 if debt ceiling is not raised

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned Congress on Tuesday that the U.S. government could run out of money to pay its bills by Oct. 18 if lawmakers fail to raise the debt ceiling. Powell and Yellen said there would be a “devastating” impact if the United States defaults on its debt during testimony before the Senate banking committee. They said that any economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic could come to a halt.

Yellen said in her opening statement: “While our economy continues to expand and recapture a substantial share of the jobs lost during 2020, significant challenges from the Delta variant continue to suppress the speed of the recovery and present substantial barriers to a vibrant economy. I remain optimistic about the medium-term trajectory of our economy, and I expect we will return to full employment next year. A rebound like this was never a foregone conclusion. In fact, the American recovery is stronger than those of other wealthy nations.”

Yellen warned: “It is imperative that Congress address the debt limit. If not, our current estimate is that treasury will likely exhaust its extraordinary measures by October 18. At that point, we expect treasury would be left with very limited resources that would be depleted quickly. America would default for the first time in history. The full faith and credit of the United States would be impaired and our country would likely face a financial crisis and economic recession as a result….It would be disastrous for the American economy, for global financial markets, and for millions of families and workers.”

Powell told senators in his opening statement that “inflation is elevated and will likely remain so in coming months before moderating…As the economy continues to reopen and spending rebounds, we are seeing upward pressure on prices, particularly due to supply bottlenecks in some sectors. These effects have been larger and longer-lasting than anticipated, but they will abate, and as they do, inflation is expected to drop back toward our longer-run 2% goal.”

Zac Brown tests positive for COVID-19, cancels shows on ‘The Comeback Tour’

Zac Brown Band has canceled four upcoming dates on their headlining 2021 “The Comeback Tour” after Brown tested positive for Covid-19. Brown made the announcement on the group’s social media on Tuesday, saying: “I am deeply disappointed this has happened, as touring is our life and performing live for our fans is the best part of our job. The bottom line is that I want to take every precaution to put the health and safety of our fans and crew first. We will resume the tour as soon as I have finished the CDC-mandated quarantine and it is safe for our band members and crew to do so.”  He added: “I am grateful to our fans for understanding this decision, as well as everyone on the front lines who can’t stay at home because their work is essential. I believe we can all overcome this together.”

The tour kicked-off in early August, and just last week Brown performed at the opening of Justin Timberlake’s new Nashville restaurant and bar the Twelve Thirty Club alongside Eric Church and Morgan Wallen. The canceled dates of the The Comeback Tour include: September 30th in Clarkston, Michigan; October 1st in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania; October 2nd in Syracuse, New York; and October 3rd in Saratoga Springs, New York. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

As of press time, Brown’s quarantine and recovery will not interfere with the Zac Brown Band opening for the Rolling Stones on the Atlanta stop of the Stones’ No Filter Tour, scheduled for November 11th at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Eminem set to open ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ restaurant in Detroit

Eminem is preparing to open ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ restaurant, inspired by the lines in his 2002 hit “Lose Yourself”: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,” he raps in the first verse. “There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

The Detroit native will open the Mom’s Spaghetti diner in Downtown Detroit, offering dishes like the s’ghetti sandwich and, of course, spaghetti and meatballs. Patrons can also shop at “The Trailer”, an attached retail spot filled with Eminem merchandise. Commercials for the new restaurant began airing on Detroit TV stations last week, with the 30-second spot provides a glimpse of the new eatery, with Eminem holding the fare while standing over the Detroit skyline. You can check the commercial out here.

Mom’s Spaghetti opens at 5 p.m. local time on Sept. 29. It’s located at 2131 Woodward Avenue, between the Fillmore and the Union Assembly.
