“She crushed it”: Luke Bryan brings young fan on stage to sing with him

Luke Bryan is more than happy to share the spotlight with his fans. In fact, some share it by invitation.

Over the weekend, the hitmaker shared a video from his Farm Tour that shows him performing “Waves” alongside a young fan wearing a white cowgirl hat adorned with a yellow feather boa. Luke kneels beside her as the two sing the hit.

The two then turn to the packed crowd, the young girl raising her arm in the air as Luke closes his eyes and sings the final notes.

“You did good!” Luke tells her, and gives her a hug.

“A natural. She crushed it,” Luke praises in the caption.

“Love it. So special,” one fan comments on the sweet moment, while another adds, “Oh my goodness this is the cutest.”

The American Idol judge continues on his Proud to Be Right Here Tour through October 28.

“I'll be back soon”: Ashley McBryde offers update following horse riding accident

Ashley McBryde is providing more insight into her horseback riding accident last week that landed her in the hospital.

In a note posted to Facebook over the weekend, the singer shared that she and some friends went for a horseback ride in Montana hours before her scheduled show at The Wilma on Wednesday. Ashley says she was at first enjoying a smooth ride on a young female horse named Jenny. But on the way back to the barn, something spooked the horse, and Ashley’s foot had slipped out of the stirrup and wasn’t able to correct it in time.

“We passed the ranch owner to whom I yelled, ‘I lost the stirrup I may go over,’ and I did. Jenny wasn’t trying to throw me at all. But she was moving faster than I could stay on with one stirrup and a loss of center balance,” she explains.

Ashley says that when she hit the ground, she thought she’d only struck her shoulder. But during a trip to the ER, the scans showed that she had a “pretty harsh” concussion and had to have her scalp stitched.

“You know me, I wouldn’t postpone a show for bumps and bruises. But at the moment, I am not able to walk without assistance. We are in contact with my doctors and following everything they say seriously,” she continues. “And as soon as I am able to walk across a stage again, that is exactly where you’ll find me. Y’all take care of yourselves. I’ll be back soon.”

Ashley postponed two of her shows last week due to the accident. She’s in the midst of her headlining This Town Talks Tour and will open for Luke Combs on his What You See is What You Get Tour.

Mom and 2-year-old son fall to their deaths at Petco Park prior to San Diego Padres game

A mother and her 2-year-old son fell to their deaths at Petco Park before the San Diego Padres’ home game against the Atlanta Braves. The San Diego police department said that shortly before 4 p.m. PT Saturday, police said they were notified that two people had fallen from the third-level concourse level, equivalent of six stories high, to the sidewalk. Two officers found the bodies of the woman, 40, and her son. The woman and boy were declared dead at the scene at 4:11 p.m. They were not identified but lived in San Diego.

Police Lt. Adam T. Sharki said that the mother and son had been at a dining/concession area on the concourse level while the child’s father was at the ballpark. A man told the San Diego Union-Tribune that his wife witnessed the fall, saying it appeared a toddler fell from an area with picnic tables, and the woman also fell trying to grab him.

The team said in a written statement Sunday:  “We are deeply saddened by the loss of life at Petco Park last evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of those involved. We will continue to refrain from comment on the nature of the incident as it is an ongoing investigation by the San Diego Police Department.”

Police said the deaths “appeared to be suspicious” and that the San Diego Police Homicide Unit were called to the scene “out of an abundance of caution.”  Investigators are looking for evidence and possible witnesses, and they are hoping to speak with people who were present when the fall happened, according to the statement.

Jimmie Allen sees “room to grow” heading into the first elimination on 'Dancing with the Stars': “I love fives!”

Jimmie Allen may be going into Dancing with the Star‘s first elimination tonight with the third-lowest score of the contenders, but he’s not letting that get him down.

In fact, he has a pretty positive view of how he and partner Emma Slater did doing the Tango.

“I’ve never danced before,” he explains, “so one, I’m just trying to remember myself that this whole, you know, Dancing with the Stars thing is like professional dancers paired up with celebrities that can’t dance, being judged by people that judge professional dancers.”

“So what I loved is, though,” he tells ABC Audio, “I love that they didn’t grade me like Jimmie Allen, the country singer. They graded me like a dancer, which was cool.”

After his first dance of the season, Jimmie sees nowhere to go but up.

“It showed the weaknesses, showed things I need to work on. It was fun and what I love about getting fives — after [judge] Len [Goodman] gave me a five, I was like, ‘I love fives!'” Jimmie laughs.

“But it’s room to grow… ” he reflects. “I figure the first week [if] you come out getting eights and tens and all that stuff, you know, you got a lot to live up to the next week. I got room to grow! That’s how I look at it.”

See how Jimmie fares tonight doing the Rumba to his hit, “Make Me Want To,” starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

The manhunt for Brian Laundrie continues as the family of his fiancé Gabby Petito gather in New York for her funeral service

Family and friends gathered to mourn at the funeral of Gabby Petito in New York on Sunday, as a manhunt for her fiancé Brian Laundrie continues. In North Port, Fla., where Petito lived with Laundrie and his parents, mourners set up a memorial across from City Hall, leaving balloons, teddy bears and signs in her memory.

At the service held at Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home in Long Island, N.Y., Petito’s father remembered her passion for travel: “I want you to take a look at these pictures, and I want you to be inspired by Gabby,” her father, Joseph Petito said. “If there’s a trip you guys want to take, take it now. Do it now while you have the time. If there is a relationship that you’re in that might not be the best thing for you, leave it now.”  Joseph Petito on Saturday also announced the formation of ‘The Gabby Petito Foundation,’ which will aim to provide resources and guidance to families of missing children.

Prior to the ceremony, Petito’s mother Nichole Schmidt posted to Facebook sharing a series of family photos as she thanked people who have shared support for the family online. “As I scroll through all the posts, my heart is full of love,” she wrote. “I wish I could reach out and hug each and every one of you!!! Your support has been so overwhelming and we are so filled with gratitude.”

Petito’s body was found in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park after her family reported her missing while she and Laundrie were on a cross-country road trip. Her death has been ruled a homicide. Laundrie, 23, has been named a person of interest by North Port Police after he returned home on Sept. 1 without her and the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued an arrest warrant against him Wednesday after a federal grand jury indicted Laundrie on a single count of unauthorized access to a debit card and two bank accounts.
