“What Makes You Country”: Luke Bryan helps change fan's tire on the side of the road

It’s not every day that Luke Bryan fixes your tire, but for one lucky fan, that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity became reality.

Courtney Potts, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee just outside of Nashville, revealed she was driving down a Tennessee backroad with her young children when her tire blew out. Luke happened to be driving by at the same time and saw Potts parked on the side of the road and jumped into action to help.

Potts shared a video on TikTok that shows the country star lying down on the road, replacing the tire with the help of another bystander. Potts also posted a video on Instagram of the singer on his hands and knees, using a tire iron to detach the faulty tire from the vehicle.

“When my tire blew in small town Tennessee, who stopped to help? LUKE BRYAN He deserves all the praise!” Potts captions the TikTok video that has amassed more than three million views.

“Thank you again @lukebryan I cannot thank you enough for helping me and my kids! It really made our day so much better!” the mother of two writes in the Instagram caption alongside the post, that’s set to the tune of Luke’s hit “What Makes You Country” and includes a photo of her and her infant daughter, Ellie, posing with the superstar.

U.S. to begin lifting restrictions for fully vaccinated international travelers on Nov. 8

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Monday that the Biden administration will lift a nearly two-year travel suspension early next month, allowing fully vaccinated travelers from 33 countries to fly into the United States. The CDC said in a press release Monday that beginning Nov. 8, non-immigrant travelers will be permitted to travel to the United States if they are able to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated along with a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days before boarding their flight.

President Biden said in a proclamation announcing the order: “I have determined that it is in the interests of the United States to move away from the country-by-country restrictions previously applied during the COVID-19 pandemic and to adopt an air travel policy that relies primarily on vaccination to advance the safe resumption of international air travel to the United States.” The CDC added there would be “very limited” exceptions to the vaccination requirement for certain non-U.S. citizens who are not immigrants, including children younger than 18. For travelers who are not fully vaccinated, regulations will tighten to require that they provide a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before traveling to the United States.

“If I Didn't Love You”: Jason Aldean teases the first live performance of his fastest-rising #1

Jason Aldean grabs his 26th career #1 this week, as he and Carrie Underwood claim the top spot with their duet, “If I Didn’t Love You.”

“As cliche as it sounds, it really never gets old…” he reflects, “I feel really fortunate. I mean, I’ve been around since 2005. It means a lot to me. I think this song is the fastest song that I’ve ever had to reach #1.”

“We’ve put out a lot of songs over the years,” he adds, “and every time we get one, if anything, it probably means more to me now than it did in the earlier days.”

Now, it’s just a matter of time before Jason and Carrie get to share the stage.

“We haven’t had a chance to do this live,” he explains. “We kind of acted like we played it live about 100 times when we shot the video.”

“We’ve got some award shows… coming up here in the next couple of months,” he teases, “and looks like we’re gonna be doing the song together on some of those.”

Jason goes on to compare singing with Carrie to collaborating with Kelly Clarkson on 2010’s chart-topping “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”

“My biggest fear with people like that is, I kind of set myself up for failure,” he admits. “I keep doing these songs with these great female vocalists and then I have to go and try to match ’em every time we do it live.”

Ultimately, Jason credits Carrie with elevating an already-great song.

“Having her get onboard with it just took it to a different place for sure,” he says.

“If I Didn’t Love You” is the lead single from Jason’s tenth album, Macon, which arrives November 12.

Two killed, four injured in shooting at mall in Boise, Idaho

Officials confirmed that two people were killed and at least four others injured — including a police officer — after a shooter opened fire in a mall in Boise, Idaho, on Monday afternoon. Boise Police Chief Ryan Lee said during a press conference that officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Boise Towne Square Mall at 1:50 p.m. where they exchanged gunfire with a person matching the description of the suspect.

Police Chief Lee added that the suspect was taken into custody following the shootout and police did not believe there were any additional suspects, saying: “At this time, the majority of the mall has been cleared. We’re still actively clearing the mall to both look for any additional concerns and any additional victims, but at this time we believe that there was only a single shooter involved and that there is no ongoing danger to the community at large from this incident.”  Lee did not provide any additional details regarding a potential motive for the shooting or the conditions of the injured victims, citing an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little offered condolences to the victims on Twitter, writing: “Those injured in today’s unthinkable shooting at the Boise Towne Square mall are in my prayers. The state of Idaho stands prepared to assist the Boise Police Department as they investigate the shooting.” Boise Mayor Lauren McLean also offered thanks to first responders and mall employees, saying during a press conference: “I want to thank the shopkeepers, the people in the mall that reacted so quickly to take care of folks that were there. You showed in a tough and chaotic moment how much you care and what you’re willing to do to support and care for strangers.”

Adele’s “Easy on Me” reaches No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Adele has scored another No. 1 song with her comeback single “Easy on Me” which landed at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting last week at No. 68 just hours after it was released.  That feat marks the eighth-biggest jump to No. 1 in Hot 100 history; Kelly Clarkson’s 2009 single “My Life Would Suck Without You” still holds the title after leaping from No. 97 to the top spot over a decade ago.

Easy on Me has become Adele’s fifth chart-topper in the U.S. after its first full week of streaming, and marks her first No. 1 since “Hello” was on top of the charts between 2015 – 2016.

Easy on Me earned 65 million radio airplay audience impressions, 74,000 downloads, and 53.9 million streams in the U.S., dethroning Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby,” which topped the Billboard 100 chart last week.
