Brantley Gilbert's wife and daughter co-star in his introspective “How to Talk to Girls” video

Brantley Gilbert enlisted two very special co-stars to act in his latest music video: His wife Amber and the couple's young daughter, Braylen.

It's an intimate, autobiographical peek into the country star's family life, featuring shots of Brantley on the road joined backstage by Amber, followed by family scenes of little Braylen toddling around under her dad's watchful eye.

Putting the spotlight on Amber and Braylen was fitting for this particular song, which was written with the two of them in mind. In the lyrics of “How to Talk to Girls,” Brantley confesses that he still can't always find the right words to express his love for his wife and daughter.

“I've known Amber since we were kids. I've been married to her for six years now and I'm still in awe of her,” the singer comments. “Then my daughter came along, and I realized I still struggle to find the right words to say to the girls I love.”

The music video for “How to Talk to Girls” premiered this week.

Dierks Bentley opens a dialogue about masks in schools on his social media

Dierks Bentley has thoughts on masking rules in schools, and he's taking to Instagram to share his viewpoints and hear from fans.

On Friday, the singer posted a screenshot of the headline of a New York Times opinion piece, which is titled “Let Kids Take Their Masks Off After the Omicron Surge.” Written by columnist Michelle Goldberg, the article navigates the downside of long-term masking of children, and calls for a removal of mask mandates in schools after the current COVID-19 surge ends, even if future mandates have to be implemented in the future.

Dierks didn't offer any lengthy thoughts on the issue, aside from writing “Seems like common sense” in the caption, and asking fans for their thoughts.

In addition to being a country superstar, Dierks is a father of three. His kids range in age from eight to 13 years old, so all of them are currently in school.

In musical news, Dierks has been teasing a new album that he's working on for 2022. His current single is “Beers on Me,” a duet with Hardy and Breland.

Keith Urban is one of Dolly Parton's dream duet partners, and she thinks he's cute, too

If you ask Dolly Parton, Keith Urban's got it all: Looks, musical talent — and a gorgeous, talented wife.

Dolly recently made a stop on ABC's Good Morning America to discuss her new Duncan Hines line of cake mixes, and when asked who she'd choose if she could pick anyone to sing and bake with, she named the guitar-slinging Aussie.

“I love Keith Urban. I always thought he was one of the most talented and cutest guys in the world,” she tells GMA. “I'm not trying to hit on him cause he's got Nicole Kidman, and who could beat that.”

Dolly adds, “She's Jolene,” in a reference to the red-haired, ivory-skinned beauty in her own iconic country song.

But even more important than his good looks is Keith's personality and talent, Dolly goes on to say. “I love his writing and I just think he's dear,” she continues.

“He reminds me so much of my brothers and my own family back home. He's from Australia but he has that feel of our mountain southern people — he'd fit right in,” Dolly says. “I'd be happy to make him a big ole cake and spend all afternoon singing songs.”

As it happens, Keith and Dolly have already collaborated once. They came together for a version of “The Twelfth of Never” in 2005.

Luke Combs keeps teasing unreleased songs as he readies album three

Luke Combs just keeps rolling out peeks and hints into his next album. The singer shared rough mixes of two as-yet-unreleased songs this week on Twitter.

One, “Five-Leaf Clover,” is a gratitude-filled ballad that Luke's been trying out live during his tour stops recently. The other is “Tomorrow Me,” a song he debuted with just his acoustic guitar on social media in summer 2021.

“Another little taste of something y'all may or may not have heard,” Luke wrote when he shared the snippets of the two songs.

Around New Year's, Luke told fans he was hard at work on his third studio album, and in the weeks since, he's been making good on his promise to get new music ready for fans' ears. Meanwhile, his current single, “Doin' This,” is inside country radio's Top 30.

Suspect who shot three Houston police officers is taken into custody after standoff

Houston police took a man suspected of shooting three officers into custody, after an hours-long standoff ended Thursday evening.  Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner confirmed that the suspect, who police have not identified, came out at 7:45 p.m. CT with his hands raised and surrendered.  Houston police tweeted that the officers who were shot are being treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital, and all are in stable condition.

After fleeing the shooting scene in a Mercedes he carjacked, the suspect barricaded himself in a home for hours. Chief Finner said: “Officers surrounded that house. The suspect fired multiple times. Thank God he did not strike any of the officers. Officers returned fire. Again, we don’t know if that suspect is injured.” Finner said at a later press conference that authorities believe the man lived at the house and he fired multiple times at a SWAT team.
