Kane Brown + his wife debut new tattoos they got for their daughter Kodi Jane

Kane Brown is showing off some new ink that he and his wife, Katelyn, recently got in celebration of their youngest daughter, Kodi Jane.

The singer posted a photo on Instagram, showing himself and his wife holding hands. Kane has got fresh ink on his left hand, with bold letters reading “KODI.” Meanwhile, Katelyn’s got the same name in a similar font, plus Kodi’s middle name, tattooed on her right forearm.

Kane and Katelyn welcomed Kodi late last year, after keeping Katelyn’s pregnancy a secret. Kodi is the couple’s second child: Their first daughter, Kingsley, arrived in October 2019.

Both Kane and Katelyn had tattoos already. Katelyn’s are relatively small, while Kane has long rocked full sleeves. After the couple got married, Kane got a tattoo of Katelyn’s name on his right hand, with the “y” stylized into the shape of an infinity symbol.

Of course, the country-star couple didn’t forget their oldest daughter: They’ve got matching “Kingsley” tattoos, too.

Dolly Parton now has her own cake mix line, and her custom baking collections sold out in just hours

Jason Kempin/Getty Images

Dolly Parton fans can have their cake and eat it, too. The singer just launched a partnership with baked-goods line Duncan Hines, offering two cake mix flavors and buttercream icing to match.

The mixes, Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix and Southern Style Banana Flavored Cake Mix, will hit shelves this March. Plus, Dolly has assembled special baking collection boxes, including both flavors of cake mix, plus buttercream and chocolate buttercream icings, a custom spatula and a tea towel. Those boxes went on sale Wednesday morning, and by 10:30 a.m. ET, they had sold out.

Dolly, who also recently announced the second round of her Jeni’s Splendid custom Strawberry Pretzel Pie ice cream flavor, tells People that sweets were a rare treat in her home growing up.

“Growing up poor, we didn’t have a lot of sugar, so we didn’t have cakes all the time,” she remembers. “So when Mama made special cakes, we loved being in the kitchen.”

The singer still loves cake, but she admits that her biggest culinary weakness isn’t necessarily a dessert.

“If I’ve been on a low-carb diet or something for a while, the first thing I want to do when I break it is have some cake — or potatoes. That’s my weakness,” she admits. “Usually that’s why I fall off any diet, is for the love of some sort of a potato.”

Dolly’s also got a new book coming out. Her first novel, Run Rose Run — which she co-wrote with James Patterson — will be published in March. She’s also releasing a companion album of the same name.

“Maybe I wasn't so cool”: Tim McGraw reacts to his old music videos

Mutton chops, “mad farmers who can't get to their fields” and “me trying to be GQ“: Tim McGraw takes a walk down music video memory lane in a new reaction video the singer posted to his YouTube channel.

The singer looks back at three videos — 1994's “Down on the Farm,” 2003's “She's My Kind of Rain” and 2016's “Humble and Kind” — in the clip. He takes plenty of cracks at his fashion sense and youthful sensibilities throughout the video, but Tim has some sentimental stories to share, too, like how Oprah Winfrey helped inspire the music video for “Humble and Kind.”

“I knew that when we did the video, we had to figure out some way to make it special,” he remembers.

He got inspired after watching the trailer for Oprah's Belief documentary series, which featured footage of people across the world, from a variety of different cultures.

“I thought, Boy, that's the way I want this video to look,'” Tim explains. So he sent the song to [producer, director and actor] Tyler Perry, a partner in Oprah's OWN network, asking if it would be possible to use some of the footage from Belief for his video.

“I sent him the song, and he called me back, and he was crying on the phone about how wonderful the song is,” the singer recounts. “And he said, I just sent it to Oprah, I hope you don't mind, and she said you can have any of the footage that you want.'”

Tim concludes, “I just think it's one of the most beautiful videos that we've ever shot.”

“Humble and Kind” won several awards, including Video of the Year at the 2016 CMT Music Awards.

Catch a day in the life of Old Dominion's tour with the return of CMT's 'On the Road' series

Fans can go behind the scenes on a late 2021 stop on Old Dominion's We Are Old Dominion Tour, thanks to a new episode of CMT's digital series, On the Road.

The cameras follow along as Old Dominion heads to St. Augustine, Florida for back-to-back sold-out shows. The concerts took place last December, and were the last two stops on the band's tour.

In the episode, Old Dominion share what goes on when they're not onstage, too: Viewers can watch the band mates golfing, riding motorcycles and spending time with their road family.

It's the return of CMT's On the Road series, which pivoted to an Off the Road spinoff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally, the show follows artists for a day in the life on tour, but amid pandemic-related shutdowns, it showed how touring artists were navigating the pandemic and life at home.

Old Dominion's On the Road episode airs Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET. You can watch it on CMT's social channels. Before it airs, check out the trailer on Facebook.

Miranda Lambert is ready to “just live my life,” though the pandemic has taught her to expect the unexpected

After a tumultuous couple of years of pandemic-related shutdowns and uncertain touring conditions, Miranda Lambert is getting back into the swing of her live show with the return of The Bandwagon Tour, a co-headlining run with Little Big Town.

The singer knows that another COVID-19 surge could affect those plans, but she's ready to get back to doing what she does best, she explains in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“There's constant changes. I'm constantly Googling things,” Miranda notes. “…The biggest point is, we're in control of nothing. For all those people who are planners like me, I have to really find my inner Zen.”

She's not downplaying the severity of the pandemic. In fact, the singer reveals, she's had a bout with the virus herself. “I know [COVID is] a real thing; I've had it,” she explains. Still, she adds, she's “ready to move ahead.”

“All the conversations and all the battles and all of that, it comes down to I want to do my job and I want to just live my life,” Miranda goes on to say. “I'm proceeding as if that's happening.”

The Bandwagon Tour will launch in early May.

Pfizer begins testing an omicron-specific COVID-19 vaccine

Pfizer and BioNTech announced on Tuesday that they have begun a clinical trial to evaluate a new, omicron-specific vaccine for COVID-19. People who are vaccinated and boosted appear to be better protected against severe disease and hospitalization from omicron, but the highly contagious variant has still led to breakthrough cases and a surge in overall infections.

Kathrin U. Jansen, Pfizer’s senior vice president and head of vaccine research and development, said in a statement: “While current research and real-world data show that boosters continue to provide a high level of protection against severe disease and hospitalization with Omicron, we recognize the need to be prepared in the event this protection wanes over time and to potentially help address Omicron and new variants in the future.”

The study will include over 1,000 participants divided into three groups — One group includes people who have already received two doses of the current Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and will also receive the omicron vaccine;  another group includes those with three doses of the current Pfizer vaccine who will also get the omicron vaccine; and the third group includes unvaccinated people who will receive three shots of the omicron vaccine.

Currently, the Food and Drug Administration authorized the current Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in people ages 5 and older. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for adults.

2nd NYPD officer, Wilbert Mora, dies from injuries in Harlem shooting

NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell announced Tuesday that NYPD officer Wilbert Mora, who was shot while responding to a domestic call in Harlem last Friday, has died from his injuries.  Mora was 27 years old. Commissioner Sewell said: “It’s with great sadness I announce the passing of Police Officer Wilbert Mora. Wilbert is 3 times a hero. For choosing a life of service. For sacrificing his life to protect others. For giving life even in death through organ donation. Our heads are bowed & our hearts are heavy.”

Mora is the 2nd NYPD officer to die as a result of the shooting. Mora’s partner, rookie officer Jason Rivera, 22, was struck first at the scene and died from his injuries.  The suspect, 47-year-old Lashawn McNeil, was shot in the head and arm and remained in critical condition until he died Monday from his injuries.

Mora, a four-year veteran of the NYPD, was shot in the head Friday night in Harlem during the incident.  NYC Mayor Eric Adams said: “Wilbert Mora was a hero. He served his city, protected his community and gave his life for our safety. Our hearts are heavy. Our city is in mourning. To his family, loved ones, and brothers and sisters in the NYPD: Your city is standing with you today and always.”

Jordan Davis recalls the “special day” writing “Buy Dirt” — and its connection to “Fancy Like”

Jordan Davis and Walker Hayes have a special connection thanks to Walker’s hit, “Fancy Like”: songwriter Josh Jenkins.

“One of the co-writers on ‘Fancy Like,’ Josh Jenkins, helped me write ‘Buy Dirt’ too, so I’m just over the moon for him,” Jordan praises.

For Jordan, writing “Buy Dirt,” his hit collaboration with Luke Bryan that is #1 at country radio this week, was a family affair, as he got to write the meaningful song with his own brother, Jacob Davis, alongside the brother duo of songwriters Josh and Matt Jenkins

“The brother duo, we had a special day that day. Those are three of the best songwriters, in my opinion, in Nashville, and so we don’t get that song if I don’t have those guys with me. I can’t write a song like that by myself. I kind of just got out of their way on that one,” Jordan describes of the writing session.

While Josh is one of the masterminds behind “Fancy Like,” it was his brother Matt who pitched the idea for “Buy Dirt,” Jordan knowing instantly that this story needed to be told.

“Matt Jenkins came in and was like, ‘what if it’s something, ‘Buy Dirt,’ like what you do with the piece of dirt that you have? What you do with your house, what you do with the way you raise your kids, what you do with the way you spend your time?'” Jordan recalls. “And when he said that, we all were just like, ‘that’s what we’re writing today.'”

“Buy Dirt” marks Jordan’s fourth #1 single following “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,” “Take It From Me” and “Singles You Up.”
