Joe Jonas posts TikTok with snippet of new music; shares news of DNCE comeback

Joe Jonas is teasing new music.  The 32-year-old Jonas Brother took to TikTok to tease a “new era” of music involving “many different” projects. In the short video, he also teases a snippet of a new song, though it is unclear whether it’s a possible DNCE reunion, or a solo project.

The caption on the TikTok reads: “It’s go time…There’s so many different projects in the works that I can’t wait to start to tell you about. I’ve had such an amazing holiday break spending time with family and friends and now I’m ready to get back to it. My goal for the next few months is to get you up on your feet dancing and make you move,  New music. New vibes. New flavors. New collaborators. All of this on the way and will be here….soon. New era incoming….let’s get it.”

Jonas recently did an interview with Rolling Stone where he announced his group DNCE would be making a comeback. Joe formed DNCE in 2015 with drummer Jack Lawless and guitarist JinJoo Lee while the Jonas Brothers were on a break; bassist Cole Whittle rounded out the quartet.  Shortly after Joe posted his TikTok, the DNCE Instagram account posted new artwork to its grid and updated its bio to read: “WE’RE BACK TO MAKE YOU MOVE.”

‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ from Disney’s Encanto makes history, spends second week at No. 1

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Disney’s “Encanto” made history by becoming just the second song from a Disney animated movie to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart (following “A Whole New World” from Aladdin). Now “Bruno” is once again making history as it spends a second week at No. 1  — the track is now the first song from an animated Disney movie to spend multiple weeks at No. 1.

“Bruno” and the Encanto soundtrack are now the first soundtrack song and album to simultaneously top their respective charts for multiple weeks since Eminem “Lose Yourself” and the 8 Mile soundtrack in 2003. Additionally, “Colombia, Mi Encanto” debuts on the chart at No. 100, making it the eighth song from Encanto to appear on the chart. “Surface Pressure,” the second-biggest hit from the movie, also rose to No. 8 this week.

Elvie Shane sings to the “wild and restless souls” in new single “County Roads”

Elvie Shane is exploring “County Roads” in his new single.

The singer has unveiled the follow up single to his #1 hit, “My Boy,” is the rock-infused country song that’s inspired by his youth growing up in Caneyville, KY filled with “young love,” “good music” and “cheap gasoline.”

“Here’s to the wild and restless souls/Who got their street smarts running down them/County roads,” Elvie chants in the chorus.

“The story in ‘County Roads’ is the American graffiti that painted my coming of age years,” Elvie describes in a statement. “Knowing where you came from is important to understand where you are and where you could go. All the full-throttle mistakes made, lessons learned, and good times had are equally important. The choice for next single was a no-brainer after showing my better sides with ‘My Boy.'”

“County Roads” is featured on Elvie’s debut 2021 album, Backslider, the same year “My Boy” became his first #1 single.

The hit singer is about to head out on his headlining My Kinda Trouble Tour that kicks off February 17 in Chattanooga, TN.

Florida Georgia Line are “taking a break”

Florida Georgia Line is going on hiatus.

Following speculation that the duo of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley was breaking up after Tyler temporarily unfollowed his band mate on social media in the midst of the 2020 election and canceling their 2021 tour over COVID-19 concerns, FGL is setting the record straight.

“I think ‘taking a break’ is the proper term, as opposed to breaking up,” Tyler tells PeopleBrian, who has moved back to his home state of Florida, insists that they’re not parting ways, but rather focusing on their personal passions. The Ormond Beach native recently released his debut solo album, Sunshine State of Mind, and will be embarking on the headlining Made by the Water Tour this spring and summer.

“We’re taking a break from recording our music,” Brian says. “We’re being artists. We love creating. And so a couple years back, we started writing without each other and trying different writers, and now we’re both doing that with our music.”

FGL currently has a handful of shows scheduled on the calendar this year, which Tyler refers to as a chance to “celebrate” their legacy and fans.” He says that he and Brian will “then support each other on the next chapter of our musical and creative journey, which is going to be individually for a while,” adding, “So we’re excited.”

On Sunday, the duo reunited for the opening of their new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Florida Georgia Line: Mix It Up Strong, which is on display until January 1, 2023.

Luke Bryan would consider doing a residency in Nashville one day

Luke Bryan is days away from launching his first Las Vegas residency, but he’s also open to the idea of doing a residency in Nashville in the future.

Vegas has long been home to country artists’ residencies, including Garth Brooks, Shania Twain,Reba McEntire and Brooks and Dunn. In recent years, modern superstars like Carrie underwood and Florida Georgia Line have also booked residencies in Vegas, with Luke now following suit with his nine-date show at Resorts World.

The singer notes that with Nashville’s growing popularity and tourism rate, the idea of a future residency in his home city is not out of the question.

“As the number of those fans flock to Nashville, I think the ability to do a residency becomes more and more a possibility. I’m a never-say-never kind-of person,” Luke explains to the Tennessean. “I think the interesting part about that is sittin’ there with a piano and guitar and telling stories about how you wrote this song and why you wrote it. How it changed your life. A residency in Nashville is something I would always take very seriously, if I wanna do that one day.”

In the meantime, Luke is set to light up Resorts World when Luke Bryan: Vegas opens on Friday night, promising a “high-energy show” that is “energetic” and will “hit on all the sensories.” The show continues throughout the month.
