Dolly Parton to star in 'Run, Rose, Run' film co-produced by Reese Witherspoon

Dolly Parton‘s new book is getting the feature treatment — with a little help from Reese Witherspoon

Two weeks after the release of Run, Rose, Run, which Dolly co-wrote with author James Patterson, the novel is now being adapted into a feature film co-produced by Dolly, Reese, James and Hello Sunshine, a media company founded by the Academy Award-winning actress.

Dolly is set to star in the film, which follows an aspiring country singer who moves to Nashville with a collection of songs inspired by a dark secret from her past. The book was released on March 7 and became a New York Times bestseller, debuting at #1. It was accompanied by an album of the same name featuring original songs by Dolly.

“I’m proud, excited and honored to be working with my good friend Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine on the movie of Run, Rose, Run from the novel I co-wrote with James Patterson. James and I love Reese and look forward to working with her and her wonderful team,” Dolly says in a statement.

“Growing up in Nashville, I've loved Dolly since the moment I heard her magical voice and saw her luminous personality shine onstage. Beyond her magnetic presence as an artist and performer, she is one of the greatest songwriters and storytellers of our time,” praises Reese, calling the fellow Tennessee native an “icon.”

“My admiration for her grew to even greater heights when reading Run, Rose, Run, a gripping and heartbreaking book I couldn’t put down,” Reese continues. “I couldn't feel more honored to be working alongside her and James to bring this remarkable story to the screen.”

Luke Combs looks ahead to “Tomorrow Me” in unreleased song

Luke Combs is starting the week off right by dropping an unreleased song, “Tomorrow Me.”

Sitting on a couch in his studio, the singer is accompanied by just his voice and his guitar, as the acoustic number finds him rejecting the advances of a former lover. Similar to “Hurricane,” the lead character is tempted to fall back into their arms, but this time, he’s summoned the will power to walk away, knowing it’s the right decision.

“‘Cause tomorrow me ain’t gonna like the way things go tonight/If I let you in and think that it’ll be different this time/So maybe we should let yesterday be/’Cause I gotta live with tomorrow me,” he sings with his rugged vocal chops.

“Let me know what y’all think!” Luke beckoned in the caption of the video, and his fans didn’t hold back with their positive reviews. “Love this! You have an amazing way of telling stories through your music,” one wrote, while another shares, “Just like all the songs before, this one is just as amazing!” “Unreleased, but a hit. Throw it out there,” yet another fan encouraged.

“Tomorrow Me” is the one of many unreleased songs the superstar has shared over the past year, including “See Me Now,” “The Kind of Love We Make” and the fan-favorite, “Five-Leaf Clover.”

Luke shares the new track as his single, “Doin’ This,” is climbing the charts, and is currently inside the top 10.

U.S. Supreme Court issues statement that Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized with infection

The Supreme Court announced in a statement that Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized with an infection.  Supreme Court spokesperson Patricia McCabe said that Thomas was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., on Friday evening after experiencing flu-like symptoms. He was diagnosed with an infection after undergoing tests and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics. McCabe did not provide more details on the nature of the infection, saying: “His symptoms are abating, he is resting comfortably, and he expects to be released from the hospital in a day or two. Justice Thomas will participate in the consideration and discussion of any cases for which he is not present on the basis of the briefs, transcripts and audio of the oral arguments.”

Thomas does not have a known history of health issues. He, along with the other eight justices, has been vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, according to the Court.

Thomas is the second-oldest justice on the Supreme Court at 73 years old, after Justice Stephen Breyer, and is the most senior conservative.  The Court is reconvening Monday at 10 a.m. for two weeks of oral arguments.  As of press time, it appears Thomas will not be participating in the arguments remotely, but will still vote in the cases.
