Alan Jackson announces 2022 ‘Last Call: One More For The Road Tour’

Alan Jackson has announced a new run of shows on his ‘Last Call: One More For The Road Tour’.  Jackson will launch the tour this summer, playing arenas through the fall.

Said Jackson: “I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, and Charley Pride who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could. I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow. I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me….”

Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, and more to pay tribute to Merle Haggard at the Grand Ole Opry

Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson lead the lineup of performers set to pay tribute to the late legend Merle Haggard during “Opry Salutes Merle Haggard,” which includes performances from Suzy Bogguss, Joe Nichols, Eli Paperboy Reed and Haggard’s son, Marty Haggard.  The one-night show takes place April 6 at the Grand Ole Opry House, coinciding with the anniversary of Haggard’s birth in 1937 and death in 2016.

Per a new release, fans attending the show can expect to hear cuts from Haggard’s famed songbook, as well as original numbers inspired by his legacy. Those unable to make the show can expect to catch highlights later this spring on “Opry Live,” airing on the Circle network.

Listen to Charli XCX’s new single, ‘Every Rule’

Charli XCX has shared her latest song, ‘Every Rule,’ ahead of the release of her new album ‘Crash‘, due out this Friday, March 18. You can listen to Every Rulehere.

Last week, Charli XCX shared the full track listing for ‘Crash’, which is made up of 12 songs including ‘Every Rule’ and the previously released tracks ‘Good Ones‘, ‘Baby‘, ‘Beg For You’ and ‘New Shapes’.

Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, BTS and more set to perform at 2022 GRAMMY Awards

The Recording Academy has announced the first round of performers for this year’s show, including BTS, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo and more.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Trevor Noah.  The ceremony will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

Nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards were announced back in November, and include artists such as J. Cole, Drake, Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Olivia Rodrigo, and more received multiple nods. Jon Batiste leads all nominees with 11 nominations.

Nashville notes

Carrie Underwood has revealed the title of her new single, “Ghost Story,” which drops on Friday.  

Kenny Chesney‘s latest album, Here and Now, and Cody Johnson‘s single “Dear Rodeo” have been certified gold by the RIAA. 

Craig Morgan is releasing a memoir about his life on September 27. God, Family, Country: Soldier, Singer, Husband, Dad — There’s a Whole Lot More to Me will chronicle his country music career, his time in the military and the impact of the death of his 19-year-old son, Jerry

Applications for the upcoming CBS series Superfan are due tomorrow. The game show focuses on artists’ loyal fans to see if they can prove they are the #1 super fan. Kelsea Ballerini, Shania Twainand Little Big Town are slated to take part in the show.

“I Like It, I Love It”: '1883' cast joins Tim McGraw on stage at Boots in the Park festival

It was a (TV) family affair for Tim McGraw during his headlining set at the weekend Boots in the Park Festival. 

The country star performed at the festival in California where members of the cast of 1883 were in attendance not merely as spectators, but active participants. 

During Tim’s performance of his classic hit, “I Like It, I Love It,” several of his cast mates including LaMonica Garrett, Alex Fine, Amanda Jaros, Emerson Miller and James Landry Hebert joined him on stage to sing the chorus.

Dressed in cowboy hats and boots, the cast of the hit Paramount+ series jumped around onstage in excitement before walking down the catwalk as a group into the crowd, cheering all the while. 

“Got the band back together last night! Huge thanks @thetimmcgraw @faithhill and the @1883official fans for making us feel like rockstars,” shares James, who portrays the character of Wade.

“This was insane. Thanks to my tv mom and dad @thetimmcgraw @faithhill. You guys have a really cool side hustle,” praised Alex, aka Grady. “@1883official is an awesome family to be apart of.” 

LaMonica also shared live footage of an intro video Tim used during his set that showed a series of clips from ?1883. “And it was in this moment, that me and my #1883TV castmates felt like rock stars backstage… Got chills watching that @1883official footage on all those screens in front of thousands of screaming fans,” the actor reflected.

1883 is the prequel series to the wildly popular Paramount+ series Yellowstone. Tim and his wife Faith Hill play the lead roles of James and Margaret Dutton, respectively.

Kelsea Ballerini shares video of her performing “Needy” as she prepares for new album

Kelsea Ballerini is getting ready to close the chapter on her self-titled album, but not before offering up a special live performance one of her fan favorites from the project. 

On Monday, the songstress shared a video on her Instagram of her energetically performing “Needy,” one of the deep cuts on her last album, 2020’s kelsea. The pop-country number allows her bubbly personality to shine on stage as she sings in front of a cheering crowd, “You never needed anybody/ But now you need me/ I was the same, but things have changed/ I’m needy.”

In an accompanying note alongside the video, Kelsea declares, “I couldn’t let the kelsea album chapter come to an end without playing this one (FINALLYYYY) here’s neeeeedy!!!!”

In the comments, the song’s co-writer Julia Michaels writes, “Awwwwww our song babyyyyyy,” while Kelsea’s husband, Morgan Evans, praises, “Damm, this is sick.”

As Kelsea prepares to bid adieu to her previous album, she’s been actively posting videos and videos on socials from writing retreats for her new project.

'For Love & Country': Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton & more to appear in Amazon's country music documentary

Jimmie Allen and Mickey Guyton are among the many artists taking part in a new documentary chronicling country music through the perspective of Black artists. 

Directed by Joshua KissiFor Love & Country will feature performances and interviews from the new generation of Black artists helping to shape country music as they share their personal stories. 

“There are certain barriers that are there. One way to always get past it is great music,” Jimmie remarks in the trailer.

“We deserve to be here. Our dreams are valid,” adds Mickey.

Breland, currently in the top five on country radio as a collaborator on Dierks Bentley‘s “Beers on Me” says, “I just knew that there was a lane that was open and if the lane is open for one, then it’s open for everybody.” 

Blanco Brown, hit songwriter Shy Carter, Brittney Spencer — who recently made her ACM Awards debut performing “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” with Brothers Osborne — and Grammy nominees Allison Russell and Valerie June are among the other artists who appear in the doc.  

For Love & Country premieres on Amazon Music and Prime Video on April 7.

Carly Pearce to share the story of '29' at a filmed show in Nashville

Carly Pearce is offering an intimate look into the story of 29: Written in Stone with a special show in Nashville. 

On April 6, Carly will take the stage at Marathon Music Works for Inside 29: Written in Stone Live From Music City, an intimate, one-night-only concert where she’ll perform songs off the critically acclaimed album and share the in-depth stories that shaped the songs. The show will be filmed and released later this year. 

“I have been lucky enough to connect with y'all in times of heartache and joy, especially with 29,” Carly expresses on Instagram, noting how the songs “lead me to a place of growth and happiness.” The hit singer also hints that there may be a few surprise guests at the show.

Presale tickets are available now and general admission is on sale Friday.  

Last week, Carly was named Female Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards where she and duet partner Ashley McBryde performed their top 20 hit featured on 29, “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.”

Brothers Osborne performing at Grammy Awards

The first round of Grammy broadcast performers has been announced, and one nominated country act has made the list. 

Brothers Osborne will take the stage during the 64th annual ceremony,k where they’re up for two of the night’s awards: Best Country Album, for Skeletons, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, for “Younger Me.” 

“You won’t want to miss it…” the Brothers tease on Twitter about the performance. 

The duo performed at the Grammys for the first time in 2018, singing “Tears in Heaven” alongside Maren Morris and Eric Church as part of a tribute to the victims of the mass shooting at Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.

Brandi Carlile and Lil Nas X are among the other artists who will perform when the Grammy Awards air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
