Luke Bryan “couldn't be happier” with his Las Vegas residency

Luke Bryan is thrilled with how his Las Vegas show turned out.

The singer launched his first Vegas residency in February with nine shows at Resorts World, and he says it’s among the best performances he’s done in his two-decade career.

“It was great! I couldn’t be happier with how it all went. The show felt like it was one of the best shows I’ve been able to put on and perform,” the country superstar raved to Entertainment Tonight

During the extravagant set, Luke delivered some of his biggest hits, including “Country Girl (Shake It for Me),” “Crash My Party” and “Waves.” The hitmaker plans to go bigger and better with his next round of Vegas shows, kicking off in June.

“I always want to build on the Vegas show. Even if we have repeat people that come out multiple times, I always want them to be able to see different things,” Luke said. “But the Vegas show will morph and become even something I’m more comfortable with.”

Between Vegas dates, Luke will headline the Raised Up Right Tour that runs from June through October.

Kane Brown is dropping hints about his new album

Kane Brown is dropping all sorts of knowledge about his upcoming album.

During a recent Twitter Q&A with fans, Kane shared some insight into his next album that sounds like it’ll be arriving sooner rather than later.

The hitmaker revealed that he finished recording the songs for the album a couple weeks ago and it’s currently in the mixing process and is about to be sent off to get hard copies made. “Just waiting for the label to wrap up the album,” he confirms.

Kane also dropped the title of two tracks, “Give Me a Go Around” and “Drunk Dreaming,” the latter of which he describes as “a feel-good beach song that I do not have in my catalog.”

“They're all my babies,” he describes of the songs. “I will say this album, I've been very picky though with lyrics, so picky that I would [have] held my album even longer if I didn't love you guys.”

The singer notes that while he’s “super pumped” about the new dates on his Blessed & Free Tour that kick off in May, he’s “more pumped about the album and the next tour to add a lot of the songs.”

The new project will follow Kane’s 2020 EP,Mixtape, Vol. 1.His previous studio album was 2018’s Experiment. During the ACM Awards Monday night, Kane performed his new single, “Leave You Alone,” the first track off the forthcoming project.

Maren Morris' 'Humble Quest' features a song about her son: “He's precious”

Maren Morris has a particularly special song on her new album, Humble Quest.

?The singer revealed that the song “Hummingbird” is about her son, Hayes, who turns two on March 23. “He’s doing good,” Maren tells Entertainment Tonight about her son that she shares with husband Ryan Hurd. “He’s precious. He’s honestly the sweetest kid. I don’t know how we got so lucky with such a sweet baby, but he is.”

While fans will have to wait to hear “Hummingbird,” Maren has dropped two tracks from the album: lead single “Circles Around This Town” and the follow-up, “Background Music.” The former track was co-written with Ryan, and while the couple doesn’t have plans to soon release another duet following the success of “Chasing After You,” Maren says that her husband’s handprint is an important part of the project.

“Maybe we’ll do another duet someday, but he actually is all over my album. He is singing and writing all the songs, so it kind of feels like in any capacity, we’re going to be collaborating, no matter what. We’re married and have a child,” Maren explains about their partnership. “It’s been a long time coming. The record’s been done for a while, so, I’m just ready to give birth to it.”

The superstar singer just announced a nationwide headlining tour in support of Humble Quest that runs from June through December.

Gabby Barrett on meeting Dolly Parton: “She was wonderful”

Like most people, Gabby Barrett was charmed by Dolly Parton when they met for the first time.

Gabby and Jimmie Allen got to work alongside Dolly when they all co-hosted the ACM Awards on Monday night, but Gabby met the legendary singer for the first time the night before the ceremony, and had nothing but kind words to say.

“She was wonderful, of course,” Gabby shares with Entertainment Tonight. “When I stood next to her to practice and rehearse, I gave her a hug. I’m like, ‘am I hugging her too tight? Am I not hugging her tight enough?,’ just thinking of all these things.”

Both singers made history at the show in Las Vegas, as 76-year-old Dolly became the oldest host in ACM Awards show history, while Gabby is the youngest at the age of 22. But Dolly put any worries the former American Idol contestant had to rest with her friendly demeanor.

“It went really good, she’s very sweet, very kind,” Gabby describes. “She made me fee very comfortable so I’m thankful for that.”

Gabby took the stage multiple times during the show, performing Faith Hill‘s “Let’s Go to Vegas” during the opening number with Jimmie, and later singing a cover of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.”

Shooting outside Des Moine, Iowa high school leaves 1 dead, 2 critically injured

One teenager was killed and two others were in critical condition after a shooting on Monday afternoon outside a high school in Des Moine, Iowa.  A 15-year-old boy did not survive his injuries, said Des Moines Fire Department spokesperson Ahman Douglass. Two others, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old girl, were hospitalized in critical condition.

The shooting happened outside on the East High School campus. It has not been confirmed whether the victims were students at the school. East Principal Jill Versteeg said “I think we can all agree an event like this is everyone’s worst nightmare. Tonight, hug your students and love them.”  A statement from Des Moines Public Schools said that East High School will be closed Tuesday, adding: “The DMPS grief team will be available at East High for students and staff beginning tomorrow through the remainder of the week. School counselors will be available at our other schools for students who need additional support.”

Des Moines confirmed the shooting took place on school grounds, but outside the main building before 3 p.m on Monday.  Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said potential suspects were detained, but no charges had been filed as of press time: “We’ve got some potential suspects detained. That will be a piece that moves through the night that we’re going to have to be working on. The kids in that school are our community’s most precious cargo. So the medics and the firefighters did an outstanding job getting up here.”

Ukraine cites modest progress on humanitarian corridors after third round of peace talks with Russia

Ukraine side cited progress in establishing humanitarian corridors, despite negotiators from Ukraine and Russia failing to reach a breakthrough during a third round of peace talks on Monday.  Safe corridors meant to allow Ukrainian civilians to flee the country, which were negotiated in the second round of talks, failed to materialize earlier in the day. The cease-fire began early Monday to allow refugees to flee in four Ukrainian cities — Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and the southern port city of Mariupol — but was quickly shattered.

Lead Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podolyak said there had been small but “positive” movement in “improving the logistics of humanitarian corridors” under which local cease-fires could be set up to facilitate the evacuation of civilians as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine entered its 12th day. Podolyak said in a Twitter post: “Intensive consultations have continued on the basic political block of the regulations, along with a ceasefire and security guarantees.”

His Russian counterpart, Vladimir Medinsky, however, said no substantial progress had been made in Monday’s talks, telling reporters: “Our expectations from negotiations were not fulfilled. We hope that next time we will be able to take a more significant step forward.”  Medinsky said he “hoped there would be progress” in an upcoming fourth round of talks at an unspecified date and location.
