So nice it's happening twice: Garth Brooks' Stadium Tour returns to Salt Lake City for the second year in a row

Garth Brooks announced the one and only return date on his Stadium Tour this week, booking a stop in Salt Lake City for June 2022.

He also made it to the city in 2021, as part of a slate of Stadium Tour shows that took place that year before the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to halt his touring plans for the second time. Garth's 2021 show happened last July at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the same venue that hosted his Stadium Tour last time around.

The stadium — which can hold over 51,000 fans, according to Utah Athletics' website — sold out in just under 30 minutes the first time Garth booked the venue. This time around, tickets for the show go on sale beginning Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. MT.

The event takes place Saturday, June 18 beginning at 7 p.m. It's one of several Stadium Tour dates on the books for this spring and summer; Garth's also hitting stadiums in Alabama, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee and more states.

Luke Combs sets a date for his next album release

The long-awaited new Luke Combs album is officially on its way. The singer posted an update on Twitter this week, and while he didn't spill any details about its title or track list, he did give fans a timeline.

“Excited to let y'all know my new album will be out June 24!” Luke wrote.

When it arrives, this will be the singer's third studio album. It's been in the works for quite a while, and he's been teasing new music along the way. Earlier this month, Luke shared a snippet of an unreleased song called “The Kind of Love We Make.”

He's been trying out other unreleased songs at his live shows, like “Tomorrow Me” and “Five-Leaf Clover.” The new album’s lead single,”Doin' This,” is already inside country radio's top ten.

Luke’s new batch of tunes follows his smash hit 2017 debut, This One’s for You, and the equally popular follow-up, 2019’s What You See is What You Get. Both of those projects spawned deluxe versions.

NYPD name person of interest in subway shooting that injured 29

The New York City Police Department announced a person of interest in connection with the Tuesday morning subway shooting in Brooklyn, with investigators saying they are looking for Frank James. The NYPD released a photo of the person, asking the public to call NYPD Crime Stoppers with information, video or photos related to the shooting at 800-577-TIPS.

The shooting was reported just before 8:30 a.m. local time on a Manhattan-bound N subway car as it approached the 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park in Brooklyn. The gunman donned a gas mask, detonated a smoke canister and fired 33 times with a .380 caliber handgun, shooting 10 people during the rush-hour commute. Twenty-nine victims went to Brooklyn hospitals with various injuries — five people were critically injured, but have since stabilized.

New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said at a news conference that the NYPD are piecing together clues about the suspected shooter: “At this time, we still do not know the suspect’s motivation. Clearly this individual boarded the train and was intent on violence.”

Investigators recovered the gun, three extended magazines, a hatchet, gasoline, four smoke grenades and a bag of consumer-grade fireworks, according to police.  A credit card was recovered from the scene and investigators said the card was used to rent a U-Haul, which led them to identify the suspect at large. Police later said James rented the van in Philadelphia. There is a $50,000 reward for information that leads to his whereabouts.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said police are working on getting as much evidence and clues from the vehicle as they can, saying: “We want to make sure that all of the evidence that is gathered is going to assist us in apprehending this person. We must make sure that we have it protected correctly so that we can convict this person for.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin says peace negotiations with Ukraine have reached a “dead end”

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that peace negotiations with Ukraine have reached a “dead end,” and accused Kyiv of violating previous agreements. Putin made the comments during a joint news conference at the Vostochny Cosmodrome with Belarusian President Alexander Lukaschenko, where the two were meeting at the spaceport to talk with rocket and space industry representatives.

Putin accused Ukraine of breaking agreements the two countries made during talks in Istanbul back in March. Russia agreed to reduce military activity around Kyiv and the northern city of Chernihiv during those peace talks, and ahead of the talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was open to declaring neutrality and a possible compromise over the disputed separatist-held regions in far eastern Ukraine known as the Donbas.

During Tuesday’s remarks, Putin said regarding the war with Ukraine that “there was simply no choice, it was only a matter of time when it will begin. That’s it.” Putin justified the offensive in eastern Ukraine by saying that Russian forces must protect separatists there.

Dolly Parton starts her work day at 3 a.m.: “I don't need a whole lot of sleep”

Turns out Dolly Parton is up before the sun.

As a woman who’s busy managing an empire, Dolly wakes up at 3 a.m. each morning to begin her hectic work day. But, it turns out, it’s a family tradition, as her father, Robert Lee Parton, was also up before the crack of dawn as a farmer and sharecropper.

“I don’t need a whole lot of sleep. I go to bed pretty early, but even if I’ve been up late — it’s just kind of like a little clock inside of me that says ‘it’s 3 o’clock!'” Dolly shares with ?Insider?”I do some of my best work there, but I get enough sleep. I don’t require as much sleep as a lot of other people do, that’s kind of a Parton family trait. I’m like my daddy. He was always up early, even if he had to go to bed late.”

Dolly recently released a novel, Run, Rose, Run, and an accompanying album of original songs. She’s set to star in a movie based on the book that she and co-author James Patterson will produce with Reese Witherspoon.
