One adult, three children killed in Philadelphia house fire

Authorities confirmed that at least four people died in a house fire in Philadelphia early Sunday morning. The Philadelphia Fire Department said three children were among those pronounced dead after both floors of a two-story rowhome in the neighborhood of Kensington caught fire at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel said in a news conference on Sunday afternoon that 38-year-old woman jumped out of a window to escape the blaze and was taken to a hospital to be treated for burns.  The fire was placed under control at 2:28 a.m.  Officials said the house did not have working smoke detectors and encouraged those without working smoke detectors to call 311 to have the department install them.

The Philadelphia fire department tweeted: “Despite a strong response by the PFD it has been a devastating morning in Kensington. Please keep the community and our members in your thoughts. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the medical examiner’s office will work to determine the causes of death.”

Barr joined the Cayce Police Department in 2016 and was promoted to the K-9 division in 2020. He worked with a dog named, Molly, that performs tracking and narcotics functions.  Police Chief Cowan said:  “He loved his dog, Molly, and he loved his job. “Don't Come Lookin'” for Jackson Dean in the woods, but you can find him cruising up the country charts

Jackson Dean's fast-rising debut single is the wild-and-proud anthem of a young guy setting out on an adventure.

The song's free-wheeling lyrics follow him to the rural landscapes of Utah, Kentucky, the Rockies and the Great Salt Plains, but offer a word of warning: When he heads out on the road, don't bother trying to find him.

That's a sentiment the singer comes by honestly. It dates back to his childhood, when he used to worry his mother by disappearing without a word as to where he could be found.

“Don't Come Lookin'' is something I used to say to my mom before I left the house,” Jackson tells ABC Audio. “I spent more time in the woods than I did with the humans. It's just how I was when I was younger. Right before I would walk off, I'd just be like, Mom, if I don't come back, don't come lookin' for me.'”

Sarcastically, he adds, “She, as you can imagine, loved that.”

But these days, Jackson's free-wheeling spirit is paying off. Not only has “Don't Come Lookin'” already cracked the top thirty at country radio, but it's featured on an episode of the hit TV show, Yellowstone.

True to form, Jackson was out on the road when he first saw the episode that featured his song. “We were in Española, New Mexico,” he recounts, adding that he watched the episode “in the hotel room with a bottle of Jack Daniels” by his side.

“I was just like, Whew, wow,'” the singer reflects. “It was a pretty surreal moment for me.”

Jackson's new album, Greenbroke, is out now.

George Strait adds Parker McCollum to a stadium show, and hints that he's readying new music

Parker McCollum is joining the lineup for an upcoming George Strait-helmed stadium show in Kansas City.

That means the show will be bookended by Texans: Parker is the first opening act, followed by Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton before George's headlining set. A limited quantity of tickets remain for the event, which will take place July 30 at the city's GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

It's George's first time playing the venue since 2001. During a rare interview, George recently told Pollstar that playing about eight shows a year is his sweet spot. “That's about perfect,” he says. “I'll have plenty of time off and still be able to scratch that itch I have for live shows.”

Even though his touring schedule isn't as rigorous as it used to be, George’s fan base doesn't seem to have diminished. Reports from Pollstar Boxoffice indicate that George has sold some 12 million tickets, dating back to 1983.

“It's definitely not easy to process,” the singer says, when asked to reflect on his massive live appeal. “I've always said I have the best fans out there. They've been extremely loyal throughout my career — and they don't seem to be slowing down any.”

When he's not mounting his live shows, though, the King of Country is working on another aspect of his career. “I also want to make another record soon,” he notes. “I just re-signed with MCA Records, and I'm really excited about that and the fact that they still want me around.”

George's most recent studio album was 2019’s Honky Tonk Time Machine. It was the singer's 30th studio album.
