Kane Brown will head overseas for his fall 2022 Drunk or Dreaming Tour

Kane Brown is putting an international tour on the books.

This September, he'll launch his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, a string of dates that will take him to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the U.K. and Europe. It's the first time that the country star has ever brought a tour to New Zealand or Australia.

Restless Road — the group that Kane signed to his own label, and duetted with on the 2020 release “Country Roads” — will join him on most of the overseas dates. Other opening acts appearing on the shows include Jessie James Decker, Chris Lane and Blanco Brown.

News of the overseas trek is part of an exciting few weeks for Kane, as the singer has been teasing the release of his new single, “Like I Love Country Music.” That song is due out Friday, and is expected to also appear on his much-anticipated, as-yet-unannounced third studio album.

Tickets for Kane's Drunk or Dreaming Tour go on sale on Friday, May 13, but there's a pre-sale going on now.

Gabby Barrett casts her husband to help her tell a decades-long love story in her “Pick Me Up” video

Gabby Barrett shared the music video this week for her current single, “Pick Me Up,” and it's a mini-movie that tells a love story dating back to 1962.

Things start off with a high school-aged girl, played by Gabby, who goes for a ride in the shotgun seat of her boyfriend's truck. Fans will probably recognize the guy behind the wheel: It's Cade Foehner, Gabby's real-life husband, whom she met while the two were contestants on American Idol.

The next scene flashes forward to 1978, with the same couple — now married, with a young daughter running around the house. It’s another nod to Gabby’s real-life love story: She and Cade share a daughter named ?Baylah May?, who was born in early 2021.

Though there are bills marked “past due” on the table, the pair still find time for each other, with Cade turning on the radio and leading Gabby in a dance around the living room.

Their love story stays strong into the present day: By the end of the video, Gabby's an elderly woman in a nursing home, but Cade — also wearing makeup that makes him look older — still shows up with flowers.

“Pick Me Up” is one of four new tracks Gabby released on the deluxe version of her Goldmine album in late 2021.

Dolly Parton hints at how she'll honor the rock genre if she attends the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction

Dolly Parton may not consider herself a rock n' roll great, but now that she's a 2022 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she says she'll just have to live up to the title.

The singer says she still isn't sure if she'll be able to attend the November induction ceremony, “but if I do, I'm going to sing the hardest style rock n' roll song I could ever muster up just to show that I can do it,” she tells Billboard.

Dolly's inclusion in the Hall's class wasn't without challenge. She initially declined her nomination, saying that — as someone who's primarily worked in the country genre — she didn't feel she'd earned it. But the Hall disagreed, leading Dolly to amend her statement, saying she'd misunderstood the criteria for inclusion.

The superstar says her husband is the “rock freak” of the house, but she's still a fan of the genre. “I love the Rolling Stones. I always wanted to do the song, Satisfaction,'” she continues, hinting that any Hall of Fame induction ceremony performance she'd give just might have to feature Stones frontman Mick Jagger.

“I may have to drag Mick's guys up there to help me sing it,” says Dolly. “…I may do a version of something like [Lynyrd Skynyrd's ] Free Bird' and do my own versions of some classic things that I think would make good rock n' roll songs.”

Dolly adds that she's always wanted to make a rock n' roll album, and her induction might be the push she needs to make it happen. “Now I may have to call my album Rock Star!” she says.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Gala is set for November 5 in Los Angeles.

Former President Trump’s oldest son Donald Trump Jr. voluntarily appears before Jan. 6 committee for interview

Reports reveal that Donald Trump Jr., the former president’s oldest son, voluntarily testified on Tuesday before the Jan. 6 select committee investigating last year’s attack on the Capitol. Trump Jr. reportedly appeared by videoconference for two hours, and according to multiple sources, the outcome was ‘uneventful.’

Last month it was reported that Trump Jr. was expected to appear before the committee as it wraps up its investigatory phase and prepares for at least eight public hearings next month. Sources say that Trump Jr.’s text messages are among those that former chief of staff Mark Meadows turned over to the committee.

The president’s oldest son was the latest member of the Trump family to meet with the committee; daughter Ivanka Trump, and her husband Jared Kushner — both of whom served as senior White House advisers to former President Donald Trump– were also interviewed in recent weeks.  In addition, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle has also met with the committee twice. Sources said those interviewes focused in part on the fundraising efforts around Trump’s “Save America” rally on Jan. 6, 2021.

To date, the Jan. 6 panel has conducted interviews with more than 800 witnesses since beginning its investigation.

Alabama corrections officer and inmate remain missing as authorities allege the officer assisted in the inmate’s escape

As authorities entered the sixth day of the search on Wednesday for Lauderdale County Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White, 56, and inmate Casey White, 38, the local sheriff in charge of the investigation in Alabama said it is believed that the corrections officer “willingly” participated in the escape of the capital murder suspect, who remain on the run as of press time.

The pair — who authorities said are not related — went missing from Florence, Alabama, last Friday. That morning at the Lauderdale County Detention Center, Vicki White allegedly told her colleagues she was taking Casey White to the local courthouse for a “mental health evaluation,” though he didn’t have a court appearance scheduled. Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said in an interview: “The pieces of the puzzle just came together. I think all of our employees and myself included were really hoping that she did not participate in this willingly. But all indications are that she absolutely did. We’re very disappointed in that because we had the utmost trust in her as an employee and as an assistant director of corrections.”

Casey White was charged with two counts of capital murder in September 2020 for the stabbing of 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway. He could face the death penalty if convicted, according to the sheriff.  He was already serving a 75-year sentence for a 2015 crime spree that involved home invasion, carjacking and a police chase. Casey White previously planned an escape from the Lauderdale County Detention Center in the fall of 2020, but authorities thwarted the plot before he could attempt it. He was subsequently transferred to a state prison, where he remained until February 2022, when he returned to the Lauderdale County facility for court appearances related to the murder charge.  Investigators have since learned that Casey White and Vicki White had a “special relationship” and were communicating after he was transferred from the county jail to state custody.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the pair “should be considered dangerous and may be armed with an AR-15 rifle, handguns and a shotgun,” and may be driving a 2007 orange or copper Ford Edge with minor damage to the left back bumper. Casey White is 6 feet, 9 inches tall. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to $10,000 reward for information leading to Casey White’s capture and a $5,000 reward for information leading to Vicky White.

Vince Gill announces four-night residency at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville

Vince Gill announced a four-night residency at the Ryman Auditorium from Aug. 4-7, featuring special guest Wendy Moten. Gill’s shows are part of the Ryman’s 130th anniversary celebration, and will mark his first solo performance there since his back-to-back sold-out shows in 2007.

Said Gill in a statement: “Of all the great concert halls in America and throughout the world, the Ryman is by far my favorite. I knew it was a unique venue the first time I set foot on the stage over 30 years ago. It was just me and an acoustic guitar and to this day that moment was like nothing I’ve ever experienced.”

Chrissy Hall, Director of Concerts for Ryman Auditorium, added: “To have Vince be a part of our 130th-anniversary year with a four-night Ryman Residency is so incredibly fitting and such an honor. He has a deep love for the building and the magic that happens here. We are beyond excited to welcome him back to the Ryman stage for such a historic milestone.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. CT at ryman.com.

Dolly Parton named as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductee, along with Eminem, Lionel Richie, and more

Dolly Parton is among the list 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, announced on May 4. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame unveiled the list which includes Parton, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Eurythmics, Carly Simon, Judas Priest, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine, Sylvia Robinson, Elizabeth Cotten, and Harry Belafonte. The 2022 ceremony will be the first time that six female acts will be inducted in one class.

Parton originally turned down her nomination for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March, saying on social media: “Even though I’m extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.” However, in a recent interview with NPR, Parton clarified that if voted in, she would gracefully accept.

To be eligible, artists must have at least a 25-year span since their first commercial recording came out. Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame John Sykes said in a press release:  “This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll. Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”

The Class of 2022 will be inducted on Nov. 5 at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater. The event will also air on a later date on HBO and stream on HBO Max.  Ticket information for the 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be shared in the coming weeks.
