Garth Brooks to release 'Anthology 2' featuring Trisha Yearwood duet in the fall

Garth Brook‘s Anthology 2: The Next Five Years is coming later this year.

Following the release of the inaugural Anthology set, which covered the first five years of his career, and Anthology 3, which featured never-before-seen live concert moments, Garth is going back in time again with Anthology 2. The project chronicles the next five years of his early career, dating back to the late 90s.

The set contains half a dozen CDs with many of his hits and some unreleased tracks. It also includes a 300-page book with almost as many photographs and interviews with Keith Urban and Bob Dylan, the latter of who originally wrote and recorded Garth’s eventual #1 hit “To Make You Feel My Love.”

“It's like a music box [set] with killer liner notes,” Garth describes on Inside Studio G. “I just love it. There are a lot of cool stories.”

Garth’s cover of “To Make You Feel My Love” was released as part of the Hope Floats soundtrack; the new Anthology set will feature a long-lost version of the song featuring Garth’s wife, Trisha Yearwood.

“She claims there was a duet with just strings and a guitar. And we dug in the vault, and sure enough – there it was!” the hitmaker reflects. “This thing is gorgeous! It's beautiful.”

Anthology 2 is slated for release in November.

At least 46 migrants found dead inside a tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas

At least forty-six migrants have been found dead inside a tractor-trailer found near Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, along with 16 others — 12 adults and four children — who have been taken to hospitals, local officials in San Antonio said on Monday evening.

The grim discovery was made late Monday afternoon, when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) responded to a call on Monday regarding an alleged ‘human smuggling event.’  According to officials, there was no working air-conditioning on the tractor-trailer, or water, and that those transported to hospitals were hot to the touch. The victims are suffering from heat exhaustion, the San Antonio Fire Department said.  Temperatures in San Antonio reached up to 100 degrees on Monday, per the National Weather Service.

San Antonio Police Chief William P. McManus said in a video posted on San Antonio Police Department’s Facebook that that three people were in custody. He stated that they do not know if the three people in custody are absolutely connected with human trafficking, adding that Homeland Security Investigations has now taken over the investigation.

At least 3 dead, dozens injured after Amtrak train hits dump truck in Missouri

Three people were killed and dozens injured in northern Missouri on Monday after an Amtrak passenger train collided with a dump truck and derailed. Officials said Southwest Chief Train 4 was carrying 207 passengers and additional crew members from Los Angeles to Chicago when it hit a truck near Mendon, Missouri, at approximately 12:43 p.m. local time. An official from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crossing was “uncontrolled” and had no lights or crossing rails, which is common in more rural areas.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Justin Dunn said at a press conference that seven of the train’s eight cars derailed.  He added that two of the victims were on the train and the other was in the truck. It’s not clear if the train victims were passengers or crew members. All passengers have been transported from the scene, Dunn said. As many as 50 people were injured with many of the minor injuries being treated at a nearby school.

Amtrak did not provide any additional information about the crash or the condition of the train and its passengers. Missouri Governor Mike Parson said he’s “saddened” to hear of the derailment, adding that “Missouri Department of Public Safety, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, and other emergency management personnel are responding.”

The Missouri derailment is Amtrak’s second train crash in two days. An Amtrak train and passenger car collided in Northern California Sunday, killing three people in the car; no one on board that train was seriously injured.

Kip Moore recorded a song with Ashley McBryde: “It came out amazing”

Kip Moore just dropped his new single “Fire on Wheels,” but it sounds like he has another potential hit in his back pocket.

Following the release of the fiery track that he co-wrote with The Cadillac Three‘s Jaren Johnston, Kip reveals that he’s also teamed up with Ashley McBryde on an unreleased song. The two singers were performing a show in Alaska last year when Ashley heard him play a new song he’d written and asked to be a part of it.

“We were in Alaska and I was playing a song and it was before she was about to go on and she grabbed the headstock of my guitar and she said, ‘what in the world is that?’ I said, ‘something that I wrote hanging out in Maui last winter.’ She says, ‘is there any way I can sing on that with you?'” Kip recalls of the conversation. “I was ecstatic about it because she’s probably my favorite singer in the business. So we did it and it came out amazing.”

Though the track is complete, the Georgia native admits that he’s “hesitant” to release it to the masses, as he feels there have been numerous collaborations being released as of late. But he’s not opposed to sharing it when the time is right.

“I don’t really like going with the pack, but she did sing her butt off. I thought that our voices blended really well together and we’ll see what happens with it,” he notes. “We’ll see what we’re going to do with it.”

Kip Moore will head out on his headlining Fire on Wheels Tour in the fall, traveling across the U.S. and Canada with opening act Boy Named Banjo beginning on September 8.

Walker Hayes has a new song coming next month and he’s giving fans a teaser.

On Monday, Walker shared a video of himself playing the guitar riff of an unreleased new track titled “Y’all Life” that’s slated to drop July 15. Sitting in the dark with only his hands and guitar illuminated, Walker offers a listen in to the country-meets-rock melody. He also informs fans that this is one of the rare instances where the melody came to him before the lyrics.

“Still got a lil bit before this drops July 15th but imma let y'all go ahead and get hooked on this lick..Lots of people ask if I write songs lyrics or music first.I'm usually a words first guy but with this one began with this guitar riff,” he teases in the caption, adding #YallLife.

The hitmaker is working on new music as his current single, “AA,” is making its way up the top 20 on country radio.

Walker kicked off 2022 with his headlining Fancy Like Tour and has a series of festival dates throughout the summer. He’ll then embark on his first arena tour, the Glad You’re Here Tour, September through November.
