Brian Kelley reflects on Florida Georgia Line's journey: “We've had a blast”

Brian Kelley is reflecting on Florida Georgia Line‘s journey before their hiatus.

Over the weekend, the duo performed in Woodstock, Illinois, as part of a contest T-Mobile held to provide a $3 million “tech makeover” to a small town in America. It marks one of the final shows on this year’s calendar before going their separate ways.

Bandmate Tyler Hubbard is working on a solo album and prepping to go on tour with Keith Urban, while Brian is preparing for his residency at Tribe Kelley Surf Post, the Florida clothing store he owns with wife Brittney. He says he’s looking to the future with gratitude for what they’ve accomplished.

“Every step of the way, we’ve had a blast. Even in the hard times where we were driving in a van and not sure if anything’s going to happen,” Brian shares with ?E! News“We love creating and we’re super grateful that our music resonates to so many different people in so many different locations. It really is a dream come true every time we get to play our songs live. When we live them out with everybody, you get to see the power of music and it’s so much bigger than just us onstage in that moment. It’s bringing everybody together and that’s a feeling that you can’t really replicate.”

FGL’s last show this year is on August 31 at the Minnesota State Fair.

Gabby Barrett says it's “getting difficult” to perform while pregnant

Gabby Barrett is opening up about the reality of performing live while pregnant.

Gabby is currently on the road opening for Jason Aldean‘s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour. She’s also pregnant with her and husband Cade Foehner‘s second child, who is due in early November. She recently sat down with fans for a Q&A on her Instagram Stories and was asked how she was feeling touring while being pregnant with the baby boy. She admitted that it poses a series of challenges.

“I love performing. It is getting difficult, though. What people don’t really see is a lot of sitting around all day before the show, which makes everyone groggy,” she explained. “I struggle with very low blood pressure almost every day in this pregnancy, which makes it hard to have energy to perform.”

The “I Hope” hitmaker also revealed that when she was pregnant with their first child, Baylah, she came down with a “bad case” of PUPPP rash that covered her whole body until after the baby was born. She also experienced postpartum preeclampsia, which includes having high blood pressure and excess protein in urine after childbirth.

“I had to get on blood pressure medication when I was 20,” she said. “Thankful God provides doctors for help!”

Gabby’s last day on tour with Jason is August 27.

Olivia Rodrigo to induct Canadian Songwriters Alanis Morissette into Hall of Fame

Olivia Rodrigo will get to pay tribute to one of her influential musical icons on September 24 when she inducts Alanis Morissette into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. As part of the induction, Alessia Cara and JP Saxe will perform some of Morissette’s most beloved songs along with Ruby Waters.

“I remember hearing Alanis for the first time when I was about 13. I was in the car with my parents when Jagged Little Pill came on,” Rodrigo said in a statement about the galvanizing impact of Morissette’s music on her. “I heard ‘Perfect,’ I was like, ‘Oh, my God … You can write songs like that?’ I just looked at music and songwriting in a completely different way.”

Rodrigo and Morissette first worked together for the cover of Rolling Stones’ “Musicians on Musicians” series in October 2021, and in May of this year, Rodrigo surprised fans at her Sour tour stop at L.A.’s Greek Theater by bringing Alanis out for a duet on “You Oughta Know.”

The event will take place at Massey Hall in Toronto, and also include induction ceremonies for Bryan Adams, four-time Juno Award-winning songwriter Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams, Aerosmith), songwriter David Foster (Celine Dion, Whitney Houston) and and beloved singer-songwriter Daniel Lavoie (“Ils s’aiment”).

Blake Shelton brings back the mullet for his new single, “No Body”

Blake Shelton is going back in time with his new single.

On Friday, the country superstar will drop “No Body” alongside a ’90s-themed video that features line dancing and sees the singer donning a mullet wig, a nod to the famous hairstyle Blake had back in the day. On Instagram, Blake teased a clip of the video, which was filmed at a country bar in Los Angeles.

“Had to bring back the mullet just for y’all,” Blake writes in the caption, adding in a statement. “I get excited and feel like a kid every time we release new music. But this song in particular takes me back to the 90s when I was in high school and first moved to Nashville, because it feels like what the music sounded like at that time.”

“No Body” follows Blake’s 2021 single, “Come Back as a Country Boy,” which reached the top 20 on country radio.
