Kelsea Ballerini borrows Shania Twain's 1999 Grammys dress for the ACM Honors

Shania Twain was one of the artists being celebrated at the ACM Honors ceremony on Wednesday night, and Kelsea Ballerini paid homage to the country legend in a very special way: by giving second life to one of Shania's most memorable looks.

Kelsea turned out for the show wearing the very same long-sleeved white gown that Shania wore at the Grammy Awards in 1999. That was the awards show where Shania picked up Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song for her enduring hit ballad “You're Still the One.”

Glittering and floor-length with a turtleneck cut, Shania's Marc Bouwer dress typically resides in the Grammy Museum these days, but it came out of retirement for the ACM Honors carpet. Kelsea even posed with it next to the living legend herself.

“She looks stunning. She looks like an absolute angel,” Shania told ET Online of the experience of seeing Kelsea wear her dress. “It's very flattering to see her in the dress, and that she even wanted to wear it. I said, I hope it's not too dusty after being in the [Grammy Museum].'”

Kelsea and Shania teamed up in 2020 for a duet version of Kelsea's single “Hole in the Bottle.”

“Beer with My Friends”: Kenny Chesney wraps the Here and Now Tour with an Old Dominion duet

Kenny Chesney's headlining 2022 Here and Now Tour may be coming to an end, but the good memories will live on with a fun new duet.

Tour openers Old Dominion join Kenny for a rendition of “Beer with My Friends” that comes out Thursday at midnight. The song was originally put out by Shy Carter, whose version features Cole Swindell, and Kenny's pal and collaborator David Lee Murphy.

“It doesn't matter if it's four years or yesterday, there's nothing like hitting that local bar with your friends,” Kenny says of his decision to cover the song. “That's what this whole tour has felt like — every city, every face, every song — as we've taken it back out to No Shoes Nation.”

He adds, “It's so much more than a show or a concert, it's really letting go — and I wanted to capture that in a song. Beer with My Friends' is all of it.”

Kenny's been friends with the guys from Old Dominion for years, and they've toured together several times, making them the perfect duet partners for this new tune. But most importantly, he's hoping the duet will serve as a keepsake for fans who came out to the Here and Now Tour in 2022.

“I've never seen anything like this summer,” he adds. “Before it's over, I wanted to give everyone something to remember it by, a song that we can all sing wherever we are — and know there's nothing like these moments we've shared.”

The Here and Now Tour will wrap this weekend with two stops at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

President Biden announces three-step plan to forgive $10,000 in student loan debt for millions

On Wednesday, President Biden announced his plan to tackle student loan debt, cancelling up to $20,000 of debt for those who received Pell Grants. The president’s plan includes $10,000 in loan forgiveness for borrowers who earn less than $125,000 annually and did not receive Pell Grants. The plan also extends the pause on federal student loan payments to Dec. 31, and allows undergraduate debt holders to cap repayment at 5% of their monthly income.

Biden said in his announcement Wednesday that the plan will fully cancel student debt for 20 million people: “That’s 20 million people who can start getting on with their lives,  All this means that people can finally start to crawl out from under that mountain of debt.”

Biden’s three-part plan includes giving aid for COVID-19-related hardships, making the student loan system more manageable and reducing the cost of college and holding schools accountable when they hike tuition. Biden said the plan will help as many as 43 million borrowers and entirely wipe away loan debts for 20 million people.

The $10,000 figure would fulfill a campaign promise from Biden and mark the largest forgiveness of federal student loans per individual to date. It’s believed that canceling the debt will cost the government about $300 billion.

Florida Democratic challenger Maxwell Frost on track to become first member of Gen Z elected to Congress

Democratic candidate Maxwell Frost won his primary in Florida on Tuesday, potentially becoming the first member of Generation Z to hold a seat in Congress. Those born between 1997 and 2012 are considered members of Gen Z; Frost was born in 1997.

The 25-year-old Frost is the projected Democratic challenger in Florida’s 10th District after defeating party establishment candidate and state Sen. Randolph Bracy among a field of eight other candidates. Frost tweeted: “We won! Thank you so much to all of our supporters, endorsers, volunteers and staff. We won because of our message: Love. That no matter who you are, you deserve healthcare, a livable wage, and to live free from gun violence. We made history tonight.”

Frost just meets the requirements to run for a seat in the House; lawmakers in the lower chamber must be at least 25 when they are sworn in.  If he wins in November, he will become the youngest member of Congress. Presently, the youngest is 27-year-old Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., who lost his primary earlier this year.

Frost will face Republican military veteran Calvin Wimbish for the Orlando-based seat, in a predominately Democratic district. Frost has a number of key national endorsements from progressive leaders, including Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Russell Dickerson's bringing back the fun, “over-the-top” energy of his debut project for album three

Even though he's the artist who recorded it, Russell Dickerson isn't sick of listening to his new single “She Likes It” — if anything, the opposite.

“It's just kind of a bluesy, funky love song. You know, like, date night kind of song,” Russell says of the song, which is a collaboration with singer-songwriter Jake Scott. “I love it. I freaking, I can't stop listening to this song.”

And “She Likes It” is just the beginning: According to the singer, his next album will be packed full of fun, addictive earworms reminiscent of the kind of music he made at the beginning of his career.

“I feel like my first album was full of, like, just young energy … and funky songs and whatever,” Russell reflects, going on to say that his second album, Southern Symphony, found him focusing more on his country songwriting skills.

“And I just feel like there's another level of my personality that's coming back with this album three,” he says. “You know, the fun, over the top, crazy — all that stuff is definitely going to be on album three, for sure.”

As he gears up for new music, Russell is also keeping busy on the road. His She Likes it Tour — the second headlining trek he's mounted this year — kicks off in November.
