“Your Heart or Mine”: Jon Pardi releases new single to radio, reflects on end of Ain't Always the Cowboy Tour

Jon Pardi is looking ahead to his next single.

Jon has released “Your Heart or Mine” to country radio, serving as the second single off his new album, Mr. Saturday Night.

The edgy, fiddle-heavy number has the singer finding love in the neon lights of a downtown bar with a woman he keeps going back to, the lyrics referencing whiskey and wine and late night phone calls.

“Girl, we’re playin’ with fire/Love ain’t too far behind/It’s just a matter of time ’til it finds/Your heart or mine,” he sings in the chorus.

“Your Heart or Mine” follows the album’s lead single, “Last Night Lonely,” which became his fifth #1 song.

Jon shipped “Heart” as a single days after concluding his three-month Ain’t Always the Cowboy Tour at Ascend Ampitheater in Nashville, calling it “a tour i'll never forget.”

“What a show in Nashville to celebrate the final night.thanks to everyone who was a part of it!!” he remarks, giving a shout-out to tour openers Lainey Wilson, Priscilla Block and Hailey Whitters. “So proud of these girls, their talent and all the hard work they put in!”

Mr. Saturday Night was released on September 2 and reached the top five on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Kelsea Ballerini is on an “active healing journey” after filing for divorce from Morgan Evans

Kelsea Ballerini is opening up about the mixed emotions that come with divorce.

In August, Kelsea announced that she and husband Morgan Evans were divorcing after nearly five years of marriage. In an interview on CBS MorningsKelsea alludes to the fact that the separation was a long time coming.

“I think that when there’s a big life decision like that, it’s not a sudden one, and there’s a lot that happens before that becomes public,” she says.

The 29-year-old describes herself as a “peacemaker” and “people pleaser,” adding that it was “really difficult” to go against those traits during the divorce. Though “rough,” she says the situation is “not chaotic” or “volatile,” and she’s “really proud” of herself for how she’s handled it.

“It just didn’t work and that sometimes is a difficult narrative to get your head around,” she explains. “This is a good person and I’m a good person, and this is just no longer good anymore.”

Despite the pain that comes with a divorce, Kelsea says this is also a “celebratory” time in her life as she continues to share her new album, Subject to Change, with fans. Its lead single, “Heartfirst,” is climbing up the top 30 on country radio.

“I’m on my active healing journey and a big part of that is showing up for this album and showing up for myself like I never have,” she says. “It’s easy to shame yourself and it’s easy to want to hide. I just want to be proud of myself in 10 years on this season of my life.”

Kelsea is currently on her headlining Heartfirst Tour through October 14.

National Archives tells House committee it has not yet retrieved all records from Trump administration

The National Archives and Records Administration told House Democrats that it has not yet retrieved all the records from officials in the Trump administration that it should have under federal law, and would consult with the Justice Department on further action.

Debra Steidel Wall, the acting archivist of the United States, said in a letter to House Oversight Committee chair Carolyn Maloney that some White House staff used “non-official electronic messaging accounts” for official business that were not copied or forwarded into their official accounts, which is required under federal law.  She told Congress: “While there is no easy way to establish absolute accountability, we do know that we do not have custody of everything we should.  The Archives has been able to obtain such records from a number of officials and will continue to pursue the return of similar types of presidential records from former officials. As appropriate, NARA would consult with the Department of Justice on whether ‘to initiate an action for the recovery of records unlawfully removed,’ as established under the Federal Records Act.”

Committee chair Maloney responded to Wall’s letter, saying it’s “outrageous” that the records, which are property of the U.S. government, are unaccounted for 20 months since the end of the Trump administration.  She wrote in a statement: “Former President Trump and his senior staff have shown an utter disregard for the rule of law and our national security by failing to return presidential records as the law requires.”

The Archives recovered 15 boxes of records from Mar-a-Lago in mid-January and records marked classified were found in 14 of them, according to the Justice Department. The documents included: 184 documents bearing classification markings, including 67 marked confidential, 92 marked secret and 25 marked top secret. Trump turned over an additional 38 unique documents with classification markings to the Justice Department in June and, after the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago in August, roughly 100 more documents with classification markings were uncovered.

HARDY injured in tour bus crash

HARDY is asking for prayers after his tour bus was involved in an accident.

“Following last night's show, our tour bus was in an accident on our way home from Bristol,” he tweeted on Sunday afternoon. “There were just four of us, including myself, on the bus, however we were all treated for significant injuries.”

“Our friend, and bus driver, needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital,” HARDY continued. “His family is with him while he is being treated and we're all pulling and praying for him.”

The “wait in the truck” singer added that he’s been released from the hospital but was “ordered by doctors to recover for the next few weeks which may cost us at a couple of shows.”

“My team and I will keep the fans updated on that as I rest in the coming days,” he shared.

“Please keep our road family in your prayers and I promise to keep you updated in the days to follow,” he concluded. “God bless our medics and local and state officials for their quick response and incredible service.”

HARDY and his team were traveling from Bristol, Tennessee to Nashville early Sunday when the incident occurred. His next scheduled appearance is on October 8 with Morgan Wallen. It’s unclear if that will still happen.

Death toll from Hurricane Ian reaches 87 as search-and-rescue operation continues

As of Sunday, the number of fatalities in the wake of Hurricane Ian has climbed to 87, and federal emergency management officials launched their largest ever search-and-rescue effort. The number of fatalities was expected to continue to climb as additional deaths were investigated after last week’s storm. The deaths so far have include 83 in Florida, and four in North Carolina, where Hurricane Ian ended up after striking the coast of South Carolina on Friday. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden announced they will travel to devastated areas on Wednesday.

Federal Emergency Management Administration chief Deanne Criswell said that search and rescue efforts were underway and that the U.S. response was likely to be unprecedented. FEMA will work with Florida officials to search for people who remain unaccounted for after Hurricane Ian, which brought catastrophic floods, according to Criswell.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said during a news conference that at least 1,100 rescues had been made in Florida since the storm struck, telling reporters: “There’s been a great outpouring of support and I’ve seen a lot of resilience in this community of people that want to pick themselves up and they want to get their communities back on their feet. We’ll be here and we’ll be helping every step of the way.”  Even after Ian was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone, it left flooding and power outages across the Carolinas. At least four people died in North Carolina, Gov. Roy Cooper announced Saturday.

Meanwhile, Puerto Rico is still dealing with the fallout from Hurricane Fiona, which has resulted in 25 fatalities since it hit the U.S. territory last month. The White House announced late Saturday that the Bidens will visit Puerto Rico on Monday.  Hurricane Fiona struck the island on Sep. 16, flooding towns and leaving residents with collapsed bridges. Fiona was the second storm since Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico five years ago, from which the island still hadn’t fully recovered. Biden said: “To the people of Puerto Rico, we’re not gone away; I am committed to you and the recovery of the island. We’ll stand by you for however long it takes to get it done.”

On Sunday, portions of multiple Florida counties, including parts of Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, St. Johns, and Sarasota, remained under mandatory evacuation orders. The number of utility customers without power in Florida and in other South Atlantic states remained well under 1 million Sunday.

“Baby's coming fast” for dad-to-be Scotty McCreery and he can't wait

Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, are gearing up to welcome their first baby — a boy — this fall, but it's hard for Scotty to believe it's almost time for his son to arrive.

“Baby is coming fast, I tell you,” the singer remarks. “It seems like just yesterday that Gabi showed me the pregnancy test, and she was like, We're having a kid.'”

The couple is busy setting up and preparing to welcome a child into their home. “We've got to build a nursery and get all this stuff ready,” Scotty continues, but says that he couldn't be more excited for the challenges ahead.

“It's going to be the biggest blessing,” he says. “I can't wait to teach this kid things. Get him on the ball field, play him some music, teach him guitar. We've already got a little music stand for him to play with. So yeah, we're pumped.”

But there's one thing about the impending new arrival that excites Scotty even more than the prospect of becoming a dad. “I'm so excited to be a dad, but probably more so excited to see Gabi be a mom, because she is going to absolutely crush it,” he continues.

“Just how caring and thoughtful she is — she puts everybody's needs in front of her own,” the singer notes. “She's just going to be the best mom.”

Scotty and Gabi's bundle of joy was originally due in early November, but after a growth scan this summer that showed the baby measuring ahead, their due date was moved up to October 31 — aka Halloween.
