Tyler Hubbard drops more details on his self-titled, solo, full-length debut

Tyler Hubbard has more details to share this week about his full-length album debut as a solo artist. The former Florida Georgia Line band mate is readying a self-titled project stacked with 18 songs.

Some of those fans have already heard, as Tyler released his Dancin' in the Country EP this fall ahead of his opening stint on Keith Urban‘s tour. The track list includes “5 Foot 9,” his first single as a solo act.

Now, Tyler's rounding out the project with a selection of several brand-new tracks, all of which he co-wrote. He's a co-producer on the album, too.

As an artist who's already a seasoned veteran in the country music industry, Tyler is aware of how important it is to make an artistic statement with a debut album.

“I know the importance and the value of this first album and really setting the foundation for what's to come down the road,” he explains in a statement. “I'm really proud of this music, and first and foremost excited for everyone to get to know me.”

Tyler Hubbard is due for release on January 27. The singer also shared the cover art for the album this week: It's a simple portrait of him wearing a white tee against a gray backdrop.

Luke Bryan is “Prayin' in a Deer Stand” in his sentimental new song

Luke Bryan finds God in an unconventional place in “Prayin' in a Deer Stand,” a new song about how slowing down and getting outside in nature can sometimes feel more spiritual than going to church.

“This is such a personal song to me,” the singer says. “The world can be a busy place and I, like a lot of people, have a ton of different things going on, but getting to be outside, it grounds and reenergizes me. There is just something about it that never gets old.”

The new song is a moment of reflection before a very busy couple of weeks for Luke. On Monday, he's hosting ABC's On the Road to the CMA Awards special, a collection of in-depth interviews exploring the highs and lows of touring life for country artists.

Next up, he'll head home to Nashville for the 2022 CMA Awards, which he's co-hosting with Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.

The 2022 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena November 9 on ABC.

Indiana doctor who performed abortion on 10-year-old rape victim sues state Attorney General

The Indiana doctor who provided an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim is suing Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita for using what her attorneys say are “meritless” complaints to justify subpoenas for medical records.  AG Rokita attempted to gain access to the medical records from Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Indianapolis, after a number of individuals filed complaints against Bernard that her attorneys call “frivolous.”  Lawyers for Bernard and her medical partner, Dr. Amy Caldwell, say Rokita filed “broad document subpoenas” to a hospital system for “the entire medical file” of the victim. The lawsuit alleges the complaints in question were without any legitimate basis.

The abortion case involving Dr. Bernard became national news after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, which allows for states to individually enact their own abortion laws. The 27-year-old Ohio man accused of raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl, Gerson Fuentes, was denied bail after being charged with two counts of rape of a child under 13.  The lawsuit claims many of the complaints against Dr. Bernard were made by people who do not live in Indiana. There was also a complaint that Bernard failed to report the rape of the victim to the authorities, which was found to be untrue. Rokita issued a statement on July 14, which questioned whether Bernard reported. However, termination of parental rights forms confirmed Bernard properly reported the rape.

FBI warns of ‘credible and broad threat’ to New Jersey synagogues

The FBI in New Jersey warned on Thursday that they were investigating a “credible and broad threat” to synagogues in the state, asking that they take security precautions to protect their communities and buildings.

Officials with the Newark FBI announced the threat in a statement and told the public to stay alert: “The FBI has received credible information of a broad threat to synagogues in NJ. We ask at this time that you take all security precautions to protect your community and facility. We will share more information as soon as we can. Stay alert. In case of emergency call police.”

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said in a statement his office has been in contact with the state attorney general’s office, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the FBI: “We are closely monitoring the situation and are working with local law enforcement to ensure that all houses of worship are protected,”

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said in a statement Thursday his office has been in touch with federal partners and is also working with New Jersey State Police and law enforcement across the state to coordinate a response: “Some of these patrols will be in marked vehicles and others will not — but please do not be alarmed if you observe an increase in police presence as we are taking these steps in an abundance of caution. We also call upon New Jersey residents to be extra vigilant and if you see suspicious activity please report it to your local authorities without delay. We continue to work together to keep New Jersey safe, and let those who would bring harm to the residents of this State know that New Jersey will not be home to hate, intolerance or violence.”

Russell Dickerson explains why his new album is self-titled: “It's just me, man”

On Friday, Russell Dickerson unleashes a 15-song set of tracks that perfectly represents his musical identity and evolution as an artist.

The new album — his third full-length release — is self-titled, and Russell tells ABC Audio that deciding on the title was a no-brainer.

“These are the top 15 songs that I played over and over and over in my demos folder, that I just couldn't stop listening to,” he says. “It's just me, man. That's why it's self-titled.”

The singer took careful stock of his memories in order to create the songs on the project, all of which he co-wrote. Russell's a co-producer of his new album, too, sharing those duties with six other in-demand industry members, including Dann Huff, Zach Crowell and Alysa Vanderheym.

“Just having the brain space in all of last year to dig back in — like, in the first song, Blame it On Being Young,' to dig back into what it felt like being 16, 17; all that dumb stuff we used to do as teenagers,” Russell says, explaining his creative process for this album cycle.

“Figuring out what stories I wanted to tell, and then after I figured that out, how do I turn those into 15 songs that I can't stop listening to?” he goes on to say.

As Russell releases his new album, he knows he accomplished the goals he laid out for the project.

“It's Russell Dickerson. Album three. Here it is,” he concludes. “Fifteen of my favorite songs I've ever written.”

Russell's new album includes his single “She Likes It,” a collaboration with Jake Scott.
