Take a listen to Charli D’Amelio’s debut song ‘If You Ask Me To’

18-year-old TikTok star Charli D’Amelio released her debut single “If You Ask Me To,” a ‘piano ballad about relationships and romantic jealousy.’

In a press release, Charli detailed the inspiration about breaking into the music scene: “I’ve always loved music and performing. Once my online following started growing I was able to showcase my passion for dance, but I felt that with so many other people entering the music space there wasn’t room for me. However, with my dad’s encouragement I got into the studio at the beginning of this year just to pursue singing as a hobby  With each writing and recording session my love for the process grew, and I became incredibly proud of the music we were making.”

Charlie said that “If You Ask Me To” was written and recorded quite early in her first few songwriting sessions: “I tinkered with it and changed up some lyrics and production over the last several months and got it to a place that made me truly happy. I’m very proud of the work the team and I did on this song, and am so excited for the world to finally hear it.”

The music video for “If You Ask Me To,” directed by Andrew Sandler, can be viewed here.

'So Help Me God': Brantley Gilbert readies new album, teases collab with Blake Shelton + Vince Gill

Brantley Gilbert is back with another collection of new music. The singer announced his next album, So Help Me God, this week; it drops November 10.

Some of the songs on the 10-track collection will be familiar. The track list includes previously-released tunes like “How to Talk to Girls,” a Jason Aldean duet called “Rolex on a Redneck” and “The Worst Country Song of All Time” with Toby Keith and Hardy.

But the album also includes several songs fans haven't heard before. There's one more big collaboration on the project: Brantley's next single, “Heaven by Then,” a duet with Blake Shelton that also features Vince Gill.

The singer acknowledges that it's been a while since he had a new record out; his last project was 2019's Fire & Brimstone.

“I've always taken a little longer than most artists, especially in this genre, to put an album out and that's partly to do with me being a perfectionist,” he explains. “But we've been looking forward to getting this album out for a long time.”

He adds, “I've been blessed to sit down with some of the best writers in the country, and I feel like we've written some wonderful stuff.”

Brantley is a co-writer on all 10 tracks of So Help Me God. The album is available for pre-order now.

“I am extremely proud to share the stage with such a diverse and gifted group of musicians,” Caroline states, vowing to “give my whole heart and soul to contributing to the music that we all know and love, and the music that is yet to be made.”

In addition to their busy schedule of releasing and touring their music, ZBB has recently been dedicating time to supporting another member, John Driskell Hopkins, who is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease.)

Kelsea Ballerini to host the 2023 CMT Music Awards, Carrie Underwood named as first performer

The CMT Music Awards is making a big move in 2023: After more than two decades of taking place in Nashville, the show is moving to the Moody Center in Austin, Texas for its 2023 event.

News of the location change arrived on Wednesday night, along with the show's date: April 2, 2023. A couple of the stars associated with next year's show have been named, too. Kelsea Ballerini will return as co-host for the third consecutive year, sharing those hosting duties with an as-yet unnamed star.

Kelsea broke the news in a slightly unconventional way. She crashed Carrie Underwood's Denim & Rhinestones tour stop at Moody Center, announcing the new details from the stage, plus one other tidbit — Carrie is the first-named performer to join the 2023 CMT Awards lineup.

It's fitting that Carrie's the first performer to join next year's bill: She’s the winningest star at the CMT Music Awards overall, taking home 25 career trophies.

The 2023 CMT Music Awards will once again air on CBS. Ticket prices, nominees, performers and other details will be announced at a later date.

Federal Reserve hikes interest rates another 0.75 percentage point

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by another 0.75 percentage point — or 75 basis points — citing continuing upward pressure on inflation as the reason. The Fed said in a statement: “Inflation remains elevated, reflecting supply and demand imbalances related to the pandemic, higher food and energy prices, and broader price pressures …As a result, it anticipates that ongoing increases in the target range will be appropriate in order to attain a stance of monetary policy that is sufficiently restrictive to return inflation to 2% over time.”

The Fed said that recent indicators point to modest growth in spending and production. Job gains have been robust in recent months, and the unemployment rate has remained low. They added that Russia’s war in Ukraine is “causing tremendous human and economic hardship” and the war, together with related events, is creating additional upward pressure on inflation.

Wednesday’s hike is the fourth consecutive 75-basis-point hike this year and would bring the federal funds rate to the range of 3.74% to 4%. The Fed said it will continue to closely monitor economic conditions and is “strongly committed to returning inflation to 2%. The last interest rate hike by the Fed was in September.

U.S. stocks opened lower Wednesday in anticipation of the Fed interest rate hike announcement.
