Luke Bryan will be “Prayin' in a Deer Stand” this Thanksgiving

The man behind “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day” is waxing philosophical with his latest tune.

Luke Bryan‘s follow-up to his top-ten-and-climbing “Country On” takes his love of the outdoors and adds a spiritual element.

“I wrote a song a couple of years ago called ‘Prayin’ in a Deer Stand,'” he explains. “And we always wanted to release it kind of during deer season. It’s out now and I love it.”

“It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” he continues, “and [I] really love the story that it tells. And I think, you know, if you’re really into deer hunting and even being outdoors, I mean, so many times, whether you’re hunting or fishing or whatever, [it’s about] just kinda get[ting] to be out there and spend a little time with the big man upstairs.”

And that’s exactly what Luke plans to do over the November holiday.

“I’ve not hunted as much as I want to yet,” Luke tells ABC Audio, “but Thanksgiving week, I’m ready to go. I’ve got all my hunting plans in order.”

Luke doesn’t have too much time to play, though. He resumes his Sin City residency at Resorts World Las Vegas on November 30.

Carly Pearce promises to keep showing fans “how I see the world” in her next album

Carly Pearce's life these days looks a whole lot different than it did when she was writing songs for her last album, 29: Written in Stone.

And that's a good thing: Much of that project was inspired by her highly public divorce from fellow artist Michael Ray, and the grief she experienced after the unexpected death of her longtime producer, Busbee.

Now, a few years later, Carly's in a happier place. She's got a new man in her life, and her career has skyrocketed to the tune of accolades, number-one hits, hosting gigs and even an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry.

As she looks ahead to her next musical chapter, Carly says that there's one big thing that hasn't changed.

“I think what fans have shown me is they want to see how I see the world,” she explains in an interview with her record label. Though life may be “much fuller and richer now,” it's still not without its challenges.

“You don't just wake up one day and say, Everything's great, and yay!'” Carly goes on to say. “So I think this one is more…navigating, to me, the best season of my life, honoring what I have been through, honoring that some of those things will live on with me as I carry through my life. And celebrating that I made it through in such a wonderful way.”

Carly recently shared some in-the-studio snapshots with fans on social media, revealing that she's started cutting her new album.

Thomas Rhett thinks it's “absolutely insane” that “Half of Me” is his 20th number-one hit

Thomas Rhett's career is coming full circle.

2022 marks a decade since the release of his debut single, “Something to Do With My Hands,” and just before the end of the year, he notched another big accomplishment: his 20th number-one country single as an artist, “Half of Me,” a duet with Riley Green.

“It's pretty quick, you know?” TR marvels in an interview with his record label. “I'm 32 years old. I feel so blessed to just have accomplished what we've gotten to do in the last 10 years, which is absolutely insane.”

The song is special, too. Not only is it a collaboration with his buddy Riley, but he also co-wrote it with his songwriter dad Rhett Akins, who's been writing songs with Thomas since the very beginning.

“It is nuts,” the singer continues. “This is one of the simplest songs about beer that I think has ever existed.”

Dan + Shay's Shay Mooney jokes that his kids are “pretty devastated” about getting a baby brother

Dan + Shay won Favorite Duo or Group at the 2022 AMA Awards over the weekend, but back home in Arkansas, band mate Shay Mooney is working on growing another group of his own: He and his wife Hannah are eagerly anticipating the arrival of baby boy number three.

However, on the AMAs red carpet, Shay admitted to ET Online that his two sons — five-year-old Asher and two-year-old Ames — aren't exactly thrilled that the new addition to the family will be a baby brother.

“They were more excited at the thought of a baby sister. They were pretty devastated whenever they found out it was another brother,” Shay laughed. “But it's funny, man. They're gonna be great big brothers, and we'll have a lot of fun.”

Asher and Ames were watching the AMAs from home, Shay said, but added, “They don't know why dad's on TV.”

As for the singer and his wife, they're just excited to expand their family, and are bracing themselves for the chaos ahead.  Or, as Shay put it, “We're about to be outnumbered!”
