The American Music Awards are happening tonight live on ABC, starting at 8 p.m. ET, but ahead of the show, winners in 26 categories have been announced.

So far, the big winner is Taylor Swift, who’s captured three trophies, as well as Beyoncé, rapper Kendrick Lamar, Latin superstar Bad Bunny and country star Morgan Wallen, each with two.  Other winners include Ghost, Elton John, Nicki Minaj and Coldplay.

Swift is nominated in an additional three categories tonight, and if she wins them, she’ll become the most decorated artist in AMA history.

The American Music Awards, hosted by Wayne Brady, will feature performances by Pink, Imagine Dragons, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Wonder and more.

Keith Urban just released the music video for his newest song, “Street Called Main.” It was filmed in Portland, Tennessee.

The deluxe version of Scotty McCreery's Same Truck album arrived on Friday. The new release adds six songs to the original track list.

Blanco Brown and rapper T.I. are planning to release a collaborative album. They put out a new song off the upcoming project called “Trap Still Bumpin'” on Friday.

Brian Kelley released a new song Friday called “Florida Strong.” It's a tribute to his home state, and through the end of this year, 100% of the royalties from the song will be split equally between the American Red Cross and the Florida Disaster Fund in support of hurricane relief.

Stagecoach Festival has announced its 2023 Palomino Stage lineup, featuring performances from Americana and roots acts like Tyler Childers, Turnpike Troubadours, Marty Stuart and more. The festival – headlined by Luke Bryan, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton – will take place in April.

Dierks Bentley leans into his rootsy side in “High Note,” a duet with Grammy-winning bluegrass star Billy Strings.

Billy provides raucous vocal harmony on this twangy barnburner, and that isn't all: He also demonstrates his famed guitar chops with a special instrumental feature. In fact, the song doubles as an all-star bluegrass jam session, with the legendary Jerry Douglas on dobro, Sam Bush on mandolin and acoustic flatpicker Bryan Sutton furnishing another guitar line.

It was Bryan who first introduced Dierks to Billy's talents about seven years ago, the country star explains in a statement, saying that it started with a comment from Bryan that “the future of bluegrass was in good hands.”

Dierks continues, “I've cut songs like this since my first record, and I knew I wanted to have [Billy] on this one, I'm such a huge fan. It was a lot of fun to have him, Jerry, Sam and Bryan all passing licks around — having them all on this record means a lot to me personally.”

“High Note” follows “Gold,” the first single off of Dierks' upcoming new album.

Shania Twain is getting a special honor at the upcoming People's Choice Awards.

The superstar will receive the Music Icon Award in recognition of her historic, four-decade-long career as the best-selling female country-pop artist of all time.

“I'm so incredibly honored to be named Music Icon,” Shania says in a statement. “I have some of the greatest fans in the world. They have supported me since the early days, and it's their love and passion that keeps me going. I'm thrilled to go back on tour and bring my new music and fan favorites to them, and what better way to start than at the People's Choice Awards!”

Shania is gearing up to launch her Queen of Me Tour in 2023 after her new album — of the same name — drops in early February.

In addition to getting a special honor at the People's Choice Awards, Shania is also planning to perform a medley of her greatest hits at the awards show.

The show will take place December 6 at 9 p.m. ET in Santa Monica, California. It will air simultaneously on NBC and E!, with a special pre-show red carpet broadcast airing on E! at 7 p.m ET.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means that lots of country stars are headed home for the holidays and, of course, a big family meal.

But if you're planning to bring cranberry sauce to your Thanksgiving party, be warned — it's a pretty polarizing dish. Dinner guests tend to either love or hate it, and country stars are no different.

If you're headed to Conner Smith or Gary LeVox's house for Thanksgiving, you better come prepared with a green bean casserole or a pumpkin pie instead, because neither of them are fans of cranberry.

“Cranberry sauce doesn't do anything for me. I've never looked at that and wanted to eat it,” Conner says in an interview with his record label.

“I could just care less about the cranberry sauce, I really could,” Gary agrees in a separate interview.

Brett Young's not a fan either — though it's a “tradition” for his family, he tells CMT, so it's usually on the table. 

Thomas Rhett admits he's just confused about why the dish is part of Thanksgiving dinner at all. “I need to probably go back into the history books to understand why, but that is one item that I skip over every time,” he says.

But don't throw out that can of cranberry sauce, especially if Carly Pearce is your Thanksgiving dinner guest. She says it's always on her “perfect Thanksgiving plate” along with turkey, dressing, gravy, sweet potato and pie.

And if you're anything like Trisha Yearwood, maybe you'll just update your cranberry sauce into something a little more refined. Check out her cranberry relish recipe for a fresh twist on a holiday staple.
