Dustin Lynch swaps his cowboy hat for a Santa cap in heartwarming, charity-focused new music video

Dustin Lynch's “Something That Makes You Smile” is all about finding joy in life, and in the music video for the song, the singer brought joy to kids all across Tennessee.

The first scenes of the clip show Dustin stocking up at a Nashville toy store before heading out to play Santa for kids in Music City and beyond. His first stop is the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital, where he hangs out with the patients – with his sack of Christmas gifts, of course.

Elsewhere in the music video, Dustin heads down to his hometown of Tullahoma, Tennessee, for his annual Dustin Lynch and Friends Benefit Concert, which raised over $30,000 for Shepard's House, Tullahoma Sports Council Inc. and Hands-On Science Center.

The best part of the video is watching the kids open their gifts and meet Dustin.

“Something That Makes You Smile” comes off the track list of Dustin's Blue in the Sky album.

Blake Shelton says he'll keep making music “until…the fans fire me”

Blake Shelton is stepping away from his coaching role on The Voice after the show’s upcoming 23rd season, and he has said that a big part of that decision comes from wanting to prioritize his family life with wife Gwen Stefani and her three children.

“I love all the cool things I get to do with my job. But those things all take a back seat now to Gwen and the kids,” the singer explains to ET online. “It's just a new phase of my life.”

But that doesn't mean Blake’s saying goodbye to his career in country music. On the contrary, he says he'll keep performing and putting out music for as long as fans want to hear from him.

“I wanna keep my music side of what I do alive from now til they fire me, fans fire me. You know?” the singer goes on to say.

With his long career on the Voice now under his belt, Blake says he's drawn in a wider fan base than he had before his TV spot. “It's actually helped pour over into my music,” he points out. “I've pulled an audience from TV that maybe didn't even know who I was.”

He adds, “At the end of the day, having songs on the radio, being able to go out and tour and play — that's what I do. I'm a country singer.”

Jelly Roll's mom broke her ankle and missed his Nashville show, so now he's bringing the concert to her

Family has always been important to rising star Jelly Roll, so after his mom suffered an injury and wasn't able to make it to his recent headlining Bridgestone Arena show in Nashville, her son decided he had to do something to make it up to her.

As she continues to recuperate, Jelly says he's bringing the party to his mom’s nursing home for a stripped-down set this week.

“My mother fell and broke her ankle right before the Nashville show…she's been sad she missed the show,” the singer explained to his fans on Twitter. “So this week I'm going to the nursing home with the guitar and putting on a show.”

Jelly's early-December Bridgestone date was more than just a show: It was a marquee, sold-out performance in the singer's hometown, punctuating a career rise that the singer described to Billboard as a “Cinderella story.”

It was also a reflection on how far he's come. Proceeds from that show went toward Jelly's $250,000 donation to a new recording studio at the Davidson County Detention Center, the facility where he was incarcerated as a teen and where he first discovered his love of music.

Over the course of his short but impressive career, Jelly's made it clear that family is priority number one. During an October show in Houston, the singer brought his wife Bunnie and daughter Bailee Ann to the stage, the latter of whom even performed a duet with her dad.

This fall, the singer also grieved the loss of two close family members: His wife's mother, and his nephew, the latter of whom was shot and killed in Nashville.

Pres. Biden and Ukrainian Pres. Zelenskyy meet at White House as U.S. pledges $1.85B in aid

President Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met the White House on Wednesday for a meeting and presented a united front against Russia, with Biden announcing an additional $1.85 billion in support for Ukraine with more military aid to bolster Ukrainian forces and repel Russian airstrikes.

At a press conference, the U.S. president said he would continue to support Ukraine “as long as it takes,” and denounced Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure as the brutal winter cold sets in. Mr. Biden said, standing next to Zelenskyy in the White House East Room: “We should be clear about what Russia is doing — it is purposefully attacking Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, destroying the systems that provide heat and light to the Ukrainian people during the coldest, darkest part of the year. Russia is using winter as a weapon. It’s important for the American people and for the world to hear directly from you, Mr. President, about Ukraine’s fight and the need to continue to stand together through 2023.”

Zelenskyy’s visit to Washington was his first known trip outside Ukraine in the 300 days since the Russian invasion began. After his meetings at the White House, Zelenskyy left for Capitol Hill, where he met with congressional leaders and addressed a joint meeting of Congress.

One 5-month-old twin found, other twin missing after kidnapping by homeless woman in Ohio

Police in Columbus, Ohio, have located one of two twin infants abducted from a parking lot on Monday night, but are issuing an urgent plea for the public’s help in locating the suspect, a homeless woman, and the missing twin baby.  Authorities have released a picture of suspect, Nalah Jackson, 24, and are asking for the public to be on the lookout for the stolen black 2010 four-door Honda Accord that had two 5-month-old twins inside at a Donatos Pizza around 9:45 p.m. on Monday. The stolen vehicle has a ripped temporary tag and a bumper sticker that says Westside Toys on the back.

The mother of twins Kason and Ky’air Thomas was working as a DoorDash delivery driver at the time and had run inside the restaurant to pick up an order at 9:45 p.m. EST Monday, leaving the two infants in their car seats inside the running vehicle. When she returned, the car was gone, leading to an Amber Alert for the missing twins. Ky’air Thomas was found on Tuesday outdoors sitting in a car seat in a hotel parking lot at the Dayton International Airport, but Kason Thomas remains missing.

Police confirmed on Wednesday they interviewed witnesses who saw Jackson near the airport parking lot on Tuesday. An AMBER alert was issued for Ohio, while a BOLO alert was also issued for several surrounding states. Police have not speculated on what prompted Jackson to abduct the children; during a joint news conference with the FBI Wednesday, they appealed for Jackson to return the missing child unharmed. Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said at a news conference: “You can return him to any safe location. Fire department, hospital, shopping center, any public place where someone will find the baby. We are begging you. Please return Kason…We are exhausting every tip.”

Anyone with information pertaining to the search can call the Columbus Division of Police Special Victims Bureau at (614) 645-4701.

The Christmas favorite that creeps into Brett Young's music year-round

There’s one Christmas song Brett Young loves so much that he says it actually creeps into most of his music: “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” which was originally introduced by Judy Garland in the 1944 film Meet Me in St. Louis.

“Before you dig too deep about the lyrics, it’s the ballad that I try to put out with every single song I ever put out,” he reveals. “So that is obviously what I gravitate towards.”

“But there’s something about the lyric matched with the music that makes – it’s even in the lyric, ‘Let your heart be light.’ It just literally makes me feel that way,” he says.

Most of all for Brett, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” evokes what he loves most about the holiday.

“For me, Christmas is always about being with family,” he reflects. “And whether it’s said that specifically or not in the song, everything about the lyric makes me feel like I’m sitting in the living room with my family. And that is the holidays for me.”

The Californian recorded his version of the song for 2021’s Brett Young & Friends Sing the Christmas Classics. It’s a duet with Australian pop star Sam Fischer, though Brett originally intended to record it with his CMT Crossroads partners Boyz II Men.

Garth Brooks surprises Mitch Rossell at his Grand Ole Opry debut

Country singer and songwriter Mitch Rossell got an unexpected surprise during his debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage when his friend and mentor, Garth Brooks, came out to give him an official Opry introduction. Rossell co-wrote Brooks’ 2017 hit “Ask Me How I Know,” and recently collaborated with Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood on the 2021 single “Ran Into You.” The 29-year-old Rossell shared a video of the moment on Instagram.

Said Brooks during his introduction of Rossell:  “Tonight I’m getting to introduce a guy for the first time ever on this stage … Try to understand that in Nashville, people, it’s regular that the guy that’s waiting on your table plays better guitar than you, sings better than you, writes better than you. There is a level that, once you get to, nobody’s better than anybody else. What I’m saying is, this cat is on that level. There might be somebody that’s as good of a songwriter, but they’re not better. There might be somebody that’s as good of a singer, but they’re not better.  This guy also is one of the greatest men I’ve ever gotten to be around in my life. Great father. Great husband. He’s got his head on straight. But the favorite thing about this guy that you’ll love, and I love, you’ll get it immediately how much this guy loves country music. This guy is a dream. It is my honor to introduce a great talent and an even greater friend.”

Rossell said: “I was not expecting that … I can’t tell you what an honor it is to stand here … I am just really grateful to be here.”  He went on to perform his 2019 single “All I Need To See” and “Son,” the title track off his 2022 album. He also shared on Facebook: “Last night, I made my Grand Ole Opry debut, and let me just tell you it was perfect. I had so many family and friends there, and it was overwhelming how many of y’all drove and flew from all over to come watch my set … I can’t believe I got to live last night. I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and the people I’ve been able to share it with.”
