Miranda Lambert and Lone River Beverage Company have teamed up for a multiple-year partnership.
The foundation of Lone River’s premium brewed drinks, which were inspired by traditional tequila cocktails, was established by Katie Beal Brown, an entrepreneurial fourth-generation Texan.
“I don't do a ton of partnerships, but I was drawn to Katie's story, and found so many similarities with my own, so working with Lone River is really special for me,” Miranda shares. “I'm a storyteller first and foremost, and that's exactly what Katie set out to do with this brand. Lone River was built on honoring her family's roots and sharing an authentic way of life in West Texas. I'm excited to see what kind of noise us Texas women can make together!”
“Miranda Lambert is the kind of person that makes me proud to be a Texan and I am so honored to have her as a partner on this journey as we continue to grow Lone River,” adds Katie. “She is the embodiment of the trailblazing spirit that built our business, and it is a dream to have the opportunity to see our brand through her eyes. Through her iconic career in country music and beyond she's played such an important part in modernizing the ideals of the American West. I am so grateful to be a small part of this through Lone River.”
Through a series of upcoming luncheons, networking events and other activities during the course of the collaboration, Miranda and Katie will work together to inspire and support like-minded businesswomen (aged 21 and up) in different cities. More information will be shared in the coming months.
Parker McCollum‘s “Handle On You” has been certified Gold by the RIAA.
“Another Gold record – what an awesome thing to be able to say,” Parker shares. “I can't thank the fans enough for always showing up. Y'all keep this whole thing going and I couldn't do it without you.”
“Parker McCollum is a redefining, culture shaping artist,” adds UMG Nashville President Cindy Mabe. “At a time when star power is being undervalued and streaming metrics are crowned king, Parker proves that you can have, and be, both. Parker is a very important artist for the future of country music and we are beyond blessed that he is helping define our next era of country music at Universal Music Group Nashville.”
Cindy and RIAA SVP of Artist & Industry Relations Jackie Jones also presented Parker and his management team with a plaque on March 28 to celebrate this accomplishment. A picture of this milestone moment is on Parker’s website.
“Handle On You” is currently top five and rising on the country charts. It also serves as the lead single from Parker’s forthcoming album, Never Enough, which arrives on May 12.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the approval of over-the-counter sales for Narcan, an overdose-reversing nasal spray. The FDA green light marks the first naloxone product approved for use without a prescription (only the 4-milligram dose of Narcan has been approved; other formulations, including higher dosages and injectable versions of naloxone, will continue to require a prescription.) Naloxone rapidly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, including in situations where fentanyl is involved. According to the FDA, in the 12-month period ending in Oct. 2022, the United States recorded 101,750 overdose deaths, primarily from opioids including fentanyl.
FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said: “Today’s approval of OTC naloxone nasal spray will help improve access to naloxone, increase the number of locations where it’s available and help reduce opioid overdose deaths throughout the country. We encourage the manufacturer to make accessibility to the product a priority by making it available as soon as possible and at an affordable price.”
The decision allows the drug to be made available at drug stores, convenience stores, grocery stores, gas stations, and online shops. It’s not immediately clear when Narcan will be available for over-the-counter sale. The FDA said this timeline will be determined by the product’s manufacturer, Emergent BioSolutions, who said it will be available “by the late summer to account for manufacturing changes that will be implemented to support nonprescription packaging, as well as supply chain modifications.”
Emergent BioSolutions CEO Robert G. Kramer said in a statement: “Today’s landmark FDA OTC approval for Narcan nasal spray marks a historic milestone as we have delivered on our commitment to make this important emergency treatment widely accessible, given the alarming rates of opioid overdoses occurring across the country.”
Walgreens spokesperson Zoe Krey said it would offer Narcan later this year in stores and online: “Delivering access to this lifesaving medication that can reverse the effects of an overdose if administered in time is imperative, and Walgreens is already working with suppliers to bring this OTC medication to shelves.”
The Vatican said Wednesday that Pope Francis has been admitted to a hospital in Rome after complaining of breathing difficulties in recent days, and have cancelled his meetings for the next two days. The Pope had appeared in relatively good form during his scheduled general audience Wednesday, though he noticeably grimaced while getting into and out of the “popemobile.” Francis’ audiences through Friday were canceled, and questions remained about the pope’s ability to participate in the Vatican’s Holy Week activities.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said the pontiff is being treated at the Gemelli hospital, where Francis underwent surgery in 2021. Bruni said in a statement: “In recent days Pope Francis has complained of some breathing difficulties,” adding that Covid-19 had been ruled out by the tests but the pope would “require a few days of appropriate hospital medical therapy.” Bruni confirmed that testing at the hospital had determined that Pope Francis has a respiratory infection, and concluded: “Pope Francis is touched by the many messages received and expresses his gratitude for the closeness and prayers.”
Francis had part of one lung removed when he was a young man due to a respiratory infection; and he spent 10 days at the Gemelli hospital following the 2021 surgery for an intestinal narrowing, which included the removal of 13 inches of his colon. He had also been using a wheelchair for over a year due to strained ligaments in his right knee and a small knee fracture. The Pope has said he resisted having surgery for the knee problems because he didn’t respond well to the general anesthesia during the 2021 intestinal surgery; but. now has said the knee injury was healing and he has been shown walking more with a cane of late.
Francis is due to celebrate Palm Sunday this weekend, kicking off the Vatican’s Holy Week observances: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and finally Easter Sunday on April 9.
Hot off her latest appearance on the Rachael Ray Show, Hannah Dasher‘s premiering her new track, “Cryin’ All the Way to the Bank,” exclusively with ABC Audio.
With her first new music since 2021’s The Half Record, the Georgia-born force of nature tells a classic country cheatin’ story of marriage gone wrong and divorce gone right. She jokes it’s loosely based on her own family.
“It was one of those hooks that kinda fell out of the sky, and it was too obvious,” she tells ABC Audio. “I can’t believe no one else had ever written it before.”
“And my father’s been married three times,” Hannah continues, “and let’s just say he’s done well for himself. But my stepmother is also on her third husband, and she took the last two for all they were worth.”
“Anyhow, she and Daddy didn’t sign a prenup, so I just knew that I had to put those fears into song,” she laughs.
The Stand By Your Pan viral phenomenon adds the new track’s definitely one for the ladies.
“I felt like there were women out there who have been done wrong and I’ve been cheated on,” Hannah confesses, “and I always fall for the poor boys. But in this case, he’s a rich boy.”
“It was kinda my ‘Buy Me a Boat’ or my ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’,” she reflects. “It had that kind of an energy to it as we were writing it.”
You can also check out Hannah’s Wednesday appearance with Rachael Ray, discussing her weight loss journey and making her biscuits that became a TikTok sensation.

Sheeran revealed that he wrote “Eyes Closed” after experiencing the loss of a close friend. “This song is about losing someone, feeling like every time you go out and you expect to just bump into them, and everything just reminds you of them and the things you did together,” said Sheeran. “You sorta have to take yourself out of reality sometimes to numb the pain of loss, but certain things just bring you right back into it.”
