Brett Young's offering an invitation to “Dance With You”

Brett Young has dropped new track “Dance With You.”

Co-written by Brett, Jordan Minton and Jimmy Robbins, the autobiographical song’s about a lifetime commitment to “dance” with one’s significant other through the good and bad.

“Just pick out a song I can hold you to/ Go on, let down your hair, baby, kick off your shoes/ They say, ‘Life’s a dance,’ and if that's the truth/ I only wanna dance with you,” he sings in the chorus.

“It meant so much to release a little bit of my own love story,” Brett says. “My wife and I have a bond that's hard to put into words. This song and video let us relive the events of such a special day and the start of our journey. Getting to share it with the world made me even more thankful for what we have.”

The aforementioned “Dance With You” lyric video features footage from Brett and his wife’s wedding day, including their very special first dance.

Brett’s current single, “You Didn’t,” is number nine and rising on the country charts.

There are plot twists in Michael Ray's “Get Her Back”

Michael Ray has returned with a brand new song, “Get Her Back.”

Written by Dallas WilsonJordan JamesLalo and Michael Tyler, the midtempo track boasts triple entendre lyricism and a midtempo production that amplifies the narrator’s heartbroken yet bitter sentiments.

“I was raised on country songs that turn what you think on its head. You think you know what the song's all about, then you hear the hook – and it's something completely else,” Michael tells the press.

“That's what the greats like HaggardCash or Conway were all about. So, when I heard this, the way it flipped the script twice, I knew I had to cut ‘Get Her Back.’ The way it's written is so tight, and then what Michael Knox did in the studio? The track is so sexy, he really intensifies that sense of what's going on here,” he adds.

Additionally, Michael has teamed up with director Spidey Smith for a dramatic and cinematic music video for his new song.

“Get Her Back” is the first preview of Michael’s forthcoming EP, Dive Bars & Broken Heart, arriving June 23. While you wait for it, watch the “Get Her Back” video on YouTube.

Air National Guardsman arrested by FBI suspected of leaking classified documents

FBI agents surrounded a Massachusetts home on Thursday in the arrest of 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, suspected of leading highly classified U.S. intelligence documents. U.S. officials had been searching for the source of the leak, which exposed potentially hundreds of pages of intelligence about Russian efforts in Ukraine and spying on U.S. allies.

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced in brief remarks at the Department of Justice that FBI agents took Teixeira into custody Thursday afternoon without incident, adding: ‘Today, the Justice Department arrested Jack Douglas Teixeira in connection with an investigation into alleged unauthorized removal, retention and transmission of classified national defense information. Teixeira is an employee of the United States Air Force National Guard.’

The FBI bureau office in Boston said in a statement that agents arrested Teixeira at a residence in North Dighton, Mass., more than an hour away from the military base where he worked.  The statement said: “The FBI is continuing to conduct authorized law enforcement activity at the residence. Since late last week the FBI has aggressively pursued investigative leads, and today’s arrest exemplifies our continued commitment to identifying, pursuing, and holding accountable those who betray our country’s trust and put our national security at risk.”

According to military records, Teixeira holds the rank of airman first class and has been in uniform since entering the Air National Guard in September 2019. He has been based at Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod and holds the title of cyber transport systems journeyman. The classified documents from the Department of Defense were found online last month, revealing details of U.S. spying on Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine, secret assessments of Ukraine’s combat power, as well as intelligence gathering on America’s allies, including South Korea and Israel.

AG Garland said that Teixeira will have an initial appearance at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Department of Justice to appeal ruling that limits use of abortion pill

Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday that the Justice Department will take an emergency dispute over medication abortion drugs to the Supreme Court. Garland’s announcement came after a federal appeals court froze parts of a Texas judge’s order on Wednesday, that would have suspended the FDA’s approval of a medication abortion drug, mifepristone. Mifepristone manufacturer Danco Laboratories also plans to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court

The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals only partially granted the request by the Justice Department and the drug’s manufacturer to put the ruling from US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk on hold, effectively making the drug harder to obtain by leaving in place aspects of Kacsmaryk’s ruling that will reverse moves by the FDA that expanded access to medication abortion pills. A federal appeals court said Wednesday abortion drug can remain available but placed restrictions.

AG Garland indicated that the Justice Department will ask the Supreme Court to intervene now in the emergency dispute over how the FDA has approached mifepristone: “The Justice Department strongly disagrees with the Fifth Circuit’s decision in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA to deny in part our request for a stay pending appeal … We will be seeking emergency relief from the Supreme Court to defend the FDA’s scientific judgment and protect Americans’ access to safe and effective reproductive care.”

The appeals court ordered a return to the stricter FDA regime around the drug, which prevents mailing the pill to patients who obtained it through telehealth, or virtual visits with their providers rather than traveling to a clinic or hospital in person to obtain the drug. The restrictions also affect the instructions on the label for the medication, shortening the window of obtaining the pill to seven weeks into pregnancy as opposed to 10. The 5th Circuit said the current FDA rules around the drug “chose to cut out doctors from the prescription and administration of mifepristone … in fact, as far as the record before us reveals, FDA has not structured the distribution of any comparable drug in this way.”

Megan Moroney's advice to her younger self? “Dream bigger”

Hot on the heels of her Breakthrough Female Video of the Year win at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, Megan Moroney has earned her first ACM nomination for New Female Artist of the Year at the 58th ACM Awards.

Growing up, Megan never envisioned herself receiving these accolades and nods, let alone winning awards. After all, she was on track to be an accountant, not singing in front of thousands of fans.

“When I watched the CMT Awards, it was like, ‘Oh, Carrie Underwood is so pretty. I love her outfit.’ It was never like, ‘That’s going to be me one day,'” she tells ABC Audio. “Because I was like, ‘No, you’re going to college like your brother did. You’re going to be an accountant and you’re going to go do those people’s taxes.’ It was just not something that I ever thought was a thing.”

That’s why, looking back, Megan knows the one piece of advice she’d give her younger self.

“I wish I could go tell my younger self to dream bigger,” the “Tennessee Orange” singer reflects, before adding with gratitude, “This just means a lot to me because I never expected to be here on any circumstance.”

“Tennessee Orange” is the lead single from Megan’s debut album, Lucky, which drops May 5.

The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, streams live on Amazon Prime Video May 11 at 8 p.m. ET.

Nick Carter sued for sexual assault by former member of pop group Dream

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has been sued for sexual assault and sexual battery by Melissa Schuman, a former member of the pop group Dream. Schuman first made these allegations on her blog in 2017 and filed a police report the following year. The lawsuit is now being filed after a recent bill amended the statute of limitations for civil actions.

The lawsuit alleges that Carter, now 43, raped Schuman, now 38, when she was 18 and he was 22, and states that Carter used his status and platform as an “international multiplatinum recording pop star” to “groom, manipulate, exploit, and sexually assault” her. It’s the second suit filed against Carter in the last six months — another woman, Shannon “Shay” Ruth, also alleged that Carter assaulted her on the Backstreet Boys’ tour bus during the band’s 2001 ‘Black & Blue’ tour when she was 17.

Carter’s attorney Liane K. Wakayama said in a statement that her client denies the allegations, stating that “Melissa Schuman has been peddling this tale for many years, but her allegation was false when she first made it back in 2017 —and it still is. A judge in Nevada recently ruled, after reviewing the extensive evidence we laid out, that there are strong grounds for Nick Carter to proceed with his lawsuit against Ms. Schuman for plotting to damage, defame and extort Nick, his associates, his friends and his family … in light of our progress in Nevada, this kind of response is at once both predictable and pathetic. But this PR stunt won’t shake Nick from his determination to hold Ms. Schuman and her co-conspirators to account for the immeasurable pain and suffering their extortionate conduct has caused.”

Celine Dion releases ‘Love Again’ from upcoming movie soundtrack

Celine Dion has released new music, just months after she was forced to postpone a world tour after being diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder. Dion released the track “Love Again” from the upcoming film ‘Love Again’, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan and Dion herself, in her first ever film role. Dion’s new music is her first since releasing her 2019 album, “Courage.”

‘Love Again’ features 11 songs from Dion, that are woven into the narrative of the film and its characters. The film’s soundtrack will be released May 12, which features five new Dion songs and six of her past hits — including “That’s The Way It Is” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” — as well as three of the film’s score selections.

Dion said in a statement: “I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that I will cherish forever. I think it’s a wonderful feel-good story, and I hope that people will like it, and like the new songs too.”

Dion announced in December that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder with features of other autoimmune diseases. In her announcement, the singer said she was canceling her 2023 tour dates to focus on her health: “For me to reach you again, I have no choice but to concentrate on my health at this moment and I have hope that I’m on the road to recovery. This is my focus and I am doing everything that I can to recuperate.”
