Kenny + Kelsea shared epic moment on final I Go Back 2023 Tour stop

Kenny Chesney concluded his I Go Back 2023 Tour with back-to-back shows in Orange Beach, Alabama, on May 26 and May 27.

For the final show, on top of performing his timeless hits, Kenny surprised opener Kelsea Ballerini with a video montage of her life when he joined her on “half of my hometown” while donning his high school jersey.

“Part of why Kelsea drunk texted me to sing ‘half of my hometown’ was because we went to rival high schools, but basically come from the same place,” Kenny explained with a laugh. “When it was time to get something to remember the I Go Back Tour by, what better gift? Hard to believe mine still fits, but it did. So, for one night in Orange Beach, the Gibbs Eagles and Central Bobcats represented for a whole lot of people.”

Of his recently wrapped tour, Kenny reflects, “People hear it's not stadiums and they think it's smaller. But it was intense, intimate, fun, wild, free – and it could change from night-to-night. Plus, with the people who were out this year, it was a blast from start to finish. What an amazing way to start summer!”

“What a way to start my summer,” adds Kenny. “Some really great memories were made.”

Man arrested after shooting spree leaves 4 killed, 1 injured in Arizona

Authorities confirmed on Monday that a man has been arrested and charged with killing four people and injuring another during a shooting spree over the holiday weekend.

Police announced in a statement that Iren Byers, a 20-year-old Arizona man, was located on Sunday afternoon and took him into custody in Mesa, Ariz.  Court documents show Byers is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder. Mesa Police Detective Brandi George said that Byers admitted to the shootings during questioning, and is cooperating while in police custody. He told them that in each of the five slayings he did not call for medical help because he believed his victims “did not deserve it;” adding that most of the victims were homeless and that Byers was “angry toward people who used drugs.”

Police first responded to a 911 call of shots fired around 3:40 p.m. Friday in downtown Phoenix, where they discovered a 41-year-old man dead at the scene. A second call came in around 10:30 p.m. in the Beverly Park neighborhood in northwest Mesa, where officers located a second 41-year-old victim who had died from gunshot wounds. While still at that scene, police located a 36-year-old woman nearby who had also been shot shortly after midnight. The woman was taken to the hospital to undergo surgery, and was listed in stable condition early Sunday.  At around 1 a.m. another call to police was made, where they found another 41-year-old man that had died from his injuries. Nearly one hour later, investigators found the final victim, a 40-year-old man also killed by gunfire, located in Mesa around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Investigators said they identified Byers using surveillance video collected from public transit, as well as a home and businesses. Later, investigators preliminarily matched the same 9mm handgun to all five shootings using shell casings, and they later recovered the gun at Byers’ residence along with other evidence.

Search of apartment wreckage in Iowa building collapse is called off amid safety fears

After 24 hours, the search and rescue effort taking place after part of an apartment building collapsed in Davenport, Iowa will transition to its recovery phase. A section of the red brick building on the city’s Main Street came down at around 5pm on Sunday, with at least one-fourth of the structure’s units destroyed. The cause of the collapse has not been determined but some residents described the sound it created as an “explosion”. Residents living in the area reported that the building was known to have problems, including visible water damage.

As of Monday morning, a total of eight people had been rescued from the wreckage and the number of people missing remains unclear. K-9 units left the scene on Monday afternoon after authorities said there was no sign of residents trapped under the rubble. However, at least one resident of the apartment complex is unaccounted for.

In an update on Monday evening, municipal council member Kyle Gripp said that the building is not salvageable and will be torn down on Tuesday. No residents will be allowed back into the building before demolition begins due to its unstable condition. The Davenport Development and Neighborhood Services Department will oversee demolition operations.

Jelly Roll gets candid in upcoming documentary: “I struggle with imposter syndrome a lot”

Jelly Roll is not afraid to get brutally honest with fans in his ABC News Studios-produced documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me.

“I’ve been in and out of jail my whole life, man. I’ve hurt so many people along the way, and I still feel that guilt. And that still comes from that place of worthlessness,” Jelly Roll reflects in an exclusive clip previewing his documentary. “I struggle with imposter syndrome a lot. I struggle with survivor guilt just as much.”

The music superstar’s checkered past is no secret. He battled addiction, spent time behind bars and struggled with mental health issues prior to ascending to stardom. And some days, those memories and early demons still haunt him.

“At what point also do you make peace with? And you quit apologizing, you actually move on? At what point do I not feel like I have to carry the sins of my past anymore, that I’ve finally been redeemed of them, or I’ve done enough to justify that I don’t have to live back here for much longer?” Jelly Roll asks, before remarking, “Who’d have thought I can help people? I needed help. You know, I still need help, God.”

Jelly Roll: Save Me premieres on Hulu May 30.

Dierks Bentley + Lainey Wilson join for sultry Hot Country Knights duet, “Herassmeant”

Dierks Bentley‘s parody band Hot Country Knights have returned with two new songs: “MidKnight Rodeo” and “Herassmeant.”

Featuring Lainey Wilson‘s alter ego Darla McFarland, “Herassmeant” is a tongue-in-cheek play on “harassment” and Lainey’s behind.

“Yeah, seems like everybody is talking about harassment these days and the Knights do not tolerate that stuff,” lead singer Doug Douglason (Dierks Bentley) says. “You gotta treat your lady right, tell her how you feel about her, respect her, love on her.”

“My old flame Darla McFarland, who most people will remember from Teazers down in Murfreesboro, was itching to sing on this one,” adds Dough. “She knew she was the inspiration, so how could we say no? Darla is the best damn country singer of the last three decades, in my opinion. Everybody better get down to Tower Records before the CDs are sold out.”

“Nothin' hits better in country music than authenticity,” shares Darla. “Seeing how I was the inspiration behind this song, I thought I’d help Doug make a good song great.”

This is the first set of new music Hot Country Knights have released after their 2020 debut album, The K Is Silent.
