Jordan Davis recalls being blown away by Chris Stapleton at CMA Fest

If you’re headed to CMA Fest, be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for the next big superstar. Because, as Jordan Davis knows from experience, “You never know who you’re going to see.”

Jordan recently recounted to ABC Audio one of his most indelible CMA Fest memories, which involved then-newcomers Chris Stapleton and Sam Hunt.

“I was at Rippy’s on Broadway. Me, my dad, my brother [and my wife] Kristen, at the time we were just dating. And they had the Bud Light stage right in front of Bridgestone. I was sitting at the bar drinking a beer and I heard this guy singing behind me that I was like, ‘Holy smokes, who is that? That’s, like, unreal.’ Paid the tab, walked out, it was Chris Stapleton. I had never heard him before. And I was like, ‘Oh, my God, this guy’s amazing,'” Jordan recalls.

“We watched the rest of the Stapleton set, and then after that, Sam took the stage. It was early Sam Hunt. I think it was the first time he’d ever play ‘Break Up in a Small Town,'” Jordan continues. “I still remember those two performances back to back just as a fan, man. It was special.”

If you’re headed to CMA Fest this week, be sure to join Jordan for his fan club party and performance at Universal Music Group Nashville’s Music Is Universal event at the Skydeck on Broadway on June 8 at 11 a.m. Jordan will also take the Nissan Stadium that night at 8:30 p.m.

However, if you’re not going to be in Nashville this week, fret not. CMA Fest, a three-hour primetime concert special, airs July 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Carly Pearce announces new song “We Don’t Fight Anymore” with Chris Stapleton

Carly Pearce announced her new single, “We Don’t Fight Anymore” (featuring Chris Stapleton) will drop on June 16. “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” written by Pearce with frequent collaborator Shane McAnally and Pete Good, was produced by McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Pearce. It’s the first new music since Carly’s third studio album 29: Written In Stone.

Pearce said of the song: “I’ve always wanted to write music that makes people feel something—whether that is feeling seen, less alone, happy or even uncomfortable. ‘We Don’t Fight Anymore’ felt like I was writing one of those stories that, whether or not we want to include it in our social media highlight reel, we’ve either been there or are living there right now. Having Chris Stapleton join me on this song was a dream come true and he unlocked an element to the story that I didn’t even know it needed.”

Lewis Capaldi cancels all engagements through June 24 to ‘rest and recover’

Lewis Capaldi is canceling all shows and engagements through June 24th due to struggles with his physical and mental health.

The singer shared in a statement posted to Instagram: “I’m going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th. It’s been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all the support from everyone has been beyond I could have ever dreamed of. That said, the last few months have been full on both mentally and physically, I haven’t been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I am struggling to get to grips with it all. I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.”

Capaldi said he wants to spend the next three weeks spending time with friends and family, and do “normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better,” and apologized to fans who’ve spent money on travel and hotels already: “The fact that you’re willing to come out and spend your time, money and love on these shows is beyond comprehension and I feel incredible lucky. I’m getting all the help and support I need from the incredible people around me who I’m so grateful for. I take none of this for granted and I can’t wait to be back doing it again.”

Taylor Swift shares ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ tracklist ft. Hayley Williams, Fall Out Boy

Taylor Swift shared more details and the full track list for her album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), featuring collaborations with Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Fall Out Boy. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is a re-recorded version of the 33-year-old singer’s 2010 album Speak Now, and is her third re-recorded album following Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version), both released in 2021.

Swift wrote on Instagram: “I’m VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with @yelyahwilliams from @paramore and @falloutboy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can’t wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th.”

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will drop on July 7. To pre-save/pre-order, head here.

Chris Janson shares how Lee Brice's dad offered him a helping hand

It’s not every day that a country singer in the most dire of circumstances runs into another country singer’s dad. But, that’s exactly what happened to Chris Janson.

Chris recently recounted to fans how he happened upon Lee Brice‘s father and uncle after his truck broke down. Of course, the odds of that happening were slim, but it did.

“A few days ago, I ran out of gas in the middle of downtown Main Street in my old 86.’ Traffic everywhere.saw these two men across the way on a park bench, and frantically asked if they’d help roll me out of the street. They helped, and we did. Within 30 seconds we had made friends, and as crazy as the world turns..this is @leebrice and @lewisbrice dad, Kenny and their uncle,” Chris shared on Instagram.

“Two GREAT American men, who lent a helping hand to a complete stranger on a random Thursday. I’ll never forget the kindness they both showed me that day. It was awesome,” the “Buy Me a Boat” hitmaker adds. “I say all that, to say all this: There are Good People in this world, and kindness MATTERS. Always try and do something nice for someone, and it will repay you when you least expect it. Love y'all.”

Check out Chris’ Instagram for a photo of Chris and Lee’s Father and uncle, and to read the story in full.

Chris’ latest single, “All I Need Is You,” is currently in the top 30 on the country charts. The track is the lead single from his upcoming album, The Outlaw Side of Me, which drops June 16.
