Beartooth and HARDY team up for “The Better Me”

Hardrockers Beartooth shared the release of their collaboration with country artist HARDY on their new song, “The Better Me.”

Beartooth lead singer Caleb Shomo shared the meaning behind the track in a press release saying: “There are times where we feel like there is a way better version of ourselves somewhere deep inside that we need to find and bring back to the forefront of our lives. This song is about going through the things that brought me to that conclusion. Simply put, I made a choice to be a better me.” Said HARDY: “I’ve always been a Beartooth fan. I’m excited we finally got to do something together and I’m honored to be part of their new record.”

“The Better Me” follows Beartooth’s previous releases “Riptide,” “Sunshine!,””Might Love Myself,” and “Doubt Me” off the band’s upcoming fifth studio album, The Surface, which features 11 tracks. HARDY is no stranger to the rock genre; in 2023, he released a half rock half country album entitled the mockingbird & THE CROW, which topped the US Billboard Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts. The album also debuted in the Top 5 in all genres on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

Chris Stapleton teams up with Snoop Dogg to cover Phil Collins’ ‘In the Air Tonight’

Chris Stapleton and Snoop Dogg have teamed up to cover Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” for this season of ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football.’  The duo’s reimagined take on the song premiered during the special “Two Games, One Night” presentation. The cover of Collins’ 1981 hit song was announced with a teaser video starring all three stars that features a clip of their version, featuring Cindy Blackman Santana on drums.

In a statement provided by ESPN, “In the Air Tonight” has a “long history” with football, “having been cited in the past and present as a song that helps players shift their mindset to prepare to compete.” Per a press release, the official new opening to Monday Night Football will also include “NFL stars, game highlights and dramatic moments” alongside the three performers. “Heavy Action,” the longtime Monday Night Football theme song, will also remain in the broadcast.

“In the Air Tonight” first appeared on Collins’ debut solo album, Face Value, in 1981, reaching No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100. “In the Air Tonight” was later featured on NBC’s hit show Miami Vice in the fall of 1984, and after the song was included on the Miami Vice soundtrack it topped the Billboard 200 for 11 weeks in 1985-86.

The new version of “In the Air Tonight” will air before all Monday Night Football games as well as ESPN’s week 18 Saturday doubleheader, super wild card and first divisional playoff game. Take a listen to the reimagined version of the classic song: here.

Taylor Swift reveals five ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ vault song names

Taylor Swift has shared the titles of the bonus tracks that will appear on her re-recorded album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”.  Swift recruited Google, who instructed Swifties to solve puzzles in order to reveal the “From The Vault” tracks. Google announced the collaboration on Tuesday, writing on their official blog post: “You’ll be helping Swifties around the world get out of the woods (or unlock the vault) as everyone collectively solves 33 million puzzles. And that’s how it works, that’s how you get the vault track titles!”  Google later tweeted: “Swifties, we made it out of the woods! Bridges, built ✅ Codes, cracked ✅ Vault, opened ✅ #1989TaylorsVersionVault”

“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” will be released in October with the surprise tracks: “Is It Over Now?,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Now That We Don’t Talk” and “Suburban Legends.” Swift revealed the songs on social media on Wednesday (September 20): “It’s a new soundtrack. Here are the back covers and vault track titles for ‘1989’ (my version). I can’t wait for this one to be out, seriously. Thank you for playing along, sleuthing, puzzling, and making these reveals so much chaotic fun (which is the best kind of fun, after all).”  The fifth “Vault” track (that was not previously shared by Google) is titled “Slut!”

Swift shared during a performance on Aug. 9 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles that she would release a newly recorded version of 1989, and wrote on social media at the time it would feature five vault songs: “To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

1989 was originally released in 2014 and featured 13 tracks and 16 songs on a deluxe edition. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will feature 21 songs, including the five previously unreleased songs. The original 1989 album, which was co-written with Max Martin, went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned Swift 10 Grammy nominations, with Grammy wins for Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood.”

Nashville notes: Charlie Worsham + Kip Moore's video, Sam Williams covers Hank

Charlie Worsham and Kip Moore have dropped a music video for their new song, “Kiss Like You Dance.” “I've never had more fun making a music video than I did with my buddy Kip Moore for ‘Kiss Like You Dance.’ It's even cooler to me that we shot the whole thing in East Nashville,” shares Charlie. The track is off Charlie’s Compadres EP, due out October 13.

Up-and-comer Sam Williams has released a cover of his grandfather Hank Williams‘ song “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.” “This song is special to me in many ways. I have always been hesitant to touch recording my grandfather's songs, as there's a sacredness to them. I wouldn't want to do them injustice. ‘I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry’ has always been one of my favorites of his catalog,” shares Sam. His rendition arrives in celebration of Hank’s 100th birthday.

Reba McEntire is set to perform on America’s Got Talent on Wednesday, September 20, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
