Carly Pearce drops surprise new song, “Heels Over Head”

Carly Pearce‘s love for good ol’ wordplay takes centerstage in her sassy new track, “Heels Over Head.”

Carly, who wrote and produced the song with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, doesn’t hold back from calling a spade a spade as she candidly reflects on an ex’s new lover.

“I bet you’re head over heels this time/ You love the way that she blows your mind/ Now I see why you’d leave me/ ‘Cause she makes easy look so easy/ All over town, all over you/ She’s good at the things good girls don’t do/ Knows how to wear red and her way around a bed/ Bet you’re head over heels ’cause she’s heels over head for you,” she sings in her kiss-off tune’s chorus.

“Heels Over Head” follows “Country Music Made Me Do It” and the Chris Stapleton-assisted “We Don’t Fight Anymore” as previews of Carly’s forthcoming new album.

Carly’s currently on the road on her headlining Country Music Made Me Do It Tour. For the full tour schedule and tickets, visit carlypearce.com.

Take a trip down 'Memory Lane' with Old Dominion

Old Dominion‘s hotly anticipated new album, Memory Lane, has arrived.

The expansive 18-track project follows their EP of the same title and includes collaborations with Megan Moroney (“Can’t Break Up Now”) and Blake Shelton (“Ain’t Got a Worry”).

“We always knew this was going to be a full album, but we wanted to give our fans the opportunity to absorb it completely,” says lead singer Matthew Ramsey.

“Over the years, we’ve developed a conversation with fans, bad days, big moments, I'd like to think our songs make both better. We wanted to make an album that takes our songs and looks a little deeper into what happens between two people,” he adds of the new record. “Just because it's deep, though, it doesn't mean the music can't feel good.”

Memory Lane was first introduced in January with its chart-topping title track. The band’s new single, “Can’t Break Up Now,” is currently making its way up the country charts.

Here’s the full track list for Memory Lane:

George Santos’ former campaign treasurer pleads guilty to federal conspiracy charge

The former treasurer for embattled Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., Nancy Marks,  pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal conspiracy charge. Marks resigned from Santos’ team in January amid reports of multiple controversies revolving around his campaign finances. Santos pleaded not guilty in May to a 13-count indictment accusing him of fraud, money laundering and theft of public funds.

Federal prosecutors said that Marks allegedly filed the names of false donors to Santos’ congressional campaign, in order to inflate the amount of campaign donations Santos appeared to have amassed so he could qualify for national party support. Prosecutors stated that the names of Marks’ and Santos’ family members were among those falsely reported to have lent his campaign $500,000, despite not having the financial means to do so. Federal prosecutors said Marks told them: “these reports were created to artificially inflate his funds to meet a threshold.”

United States Attorney Breon Peace said in a statement: “with today’s guilty plea, Marks has admitted that she conspired with a congressional candidate to lie to the FEC and, by extension, the public about the financial state of the candidate’s campaign for New York’s Third Congressional District, falsely inflating the campaign’s reported receipts with non-existent contributions and loans.”

Marks has been prominent in Republican politics on Long Island for decades. She was a treasurer for Lee Zeldin’s unsuccessful campaign for governor and she worked for several political committees, including God, Guns, Life, Veterans for MAGA and Defend the Constitution. Marks’ attorney, Raymond Perini, said his client does not have a cooperation agreement with the government in place, but “if they subpoena her, she’ll do the right thing.” Marks is scheduled to be sentenced next April.

Armed man seeking Wisconsin governor arrested at state capitol, returns with assault rifle

A spokesperson for the state of Wisconsin said on Thursday that a man who illegally brought a handgun into the Wisconsin Capitol on Wednesday, with demands to see Gov. Tony Evers, later returned that night with an assault rifle after posting bail.

State Department of Administration spokesperson Tatyana Warrick said that the man approached the governor’s office on the first floor of the Capitol around 2 p.m. Wednesday, shirtless and carrying a holstered handgun. The man was demanding to see the governor, who was not in the building at the time. Warrick said that the man was taken into custody for openly carrying a firearm in the Capitol, which is against the law; weapons can be brought into the Capitol if they are concealed and the person has a valid permit. The man arrested did not have a concealed carry permit.

While the man was booked into the Dane Count Jail and posted bail, he later returned to the outside of the Capitol shortly before 9 p.m. with an assault-style rifle and demanded to see the governor (the building closes to the public at 6 p.m.). Madison police reported Thursday that the man was again taken into productive custody and brought to the hospital.

Warrick said no immediate changes to security in the Capitol or for the governor were planned. The public has free access to the Capitol daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are no metal detectors.

Chayce Beckham talks “23” + reflects on post-'American Idol' journey

“Two years and ’23’ has finally made its way to country radio,” Chayce Beckham notes with a laugh.

His self-penned “23” helped catapult him to being crowned the winner of American Idol’s 19th season. Beyond that, the reflective, autobiographical track is rooted in real-life events he had faced.

“It’s a song about my life and it’s just something that I wrote just trying to talk about what I had been through up until that point and some of the hard lessons I’d learned,” Chayce tells ABC Audio.

“It just made me feel better to write it and that’s why I did it,” he says. “So I never in a million years would have thought that we’d be sitting here right now talking about it.”

The journey “23” has taken since American Idol is something Chayce doesn’t take for granted.

“It’s just really been such a big deal for everything that I’ve done at shows, radio [and] live concerts,” he shares.

Chayce is currently out on the road with Luke Bryan on the Country On Tour. For a full list of dates and tickets, visit Chayce’s website.

“23” is currently approaching the top 20 on the country charts.

Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood to host 2023 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are hosting the 2023 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project in North Carolina, which gathers volunteers together to repair and build homes for those who need shelter most. Brooks and Yearwood both began working with Habitat for Humanity after Hurricane Katrina hit back in 2005.

Over five days, future homeowners will work alongside Brooks, Yearwood and hundreds of other volunteers from Charlotte and around the world to build 27 single-family affordable homes. With seven homes already under construction, the entire 39-home project is expected to be completed by early 2025.

Brooks said in a statement that “Habitat for Humanity is about human rights, providing for others and ensuring that no human is left behind … We can differ all we want, but the one thing is we are all humans.”  Yearwood added that the homeowners who will receive these homes work alongside everyone in building them: “They are not given these homes, they earn them and they paid for them. They have a low mortgage so they can afford the houses that are subsidized by donorship … We’ve seen it work and we’re honored to be a part of it.”

President and Mrs. Carter, Habitat’s most renowned volunteers, will not attend the 2023 project as the former president continues hospice care. Brooks said in a statement: “Though we could never fill their shoes, we are so incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to carry President and Mrs. Carter’s legacy forward through the continuation of the Carter Work Project.”
