The “Heart Like a Truck” hitmaker walked home with five awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year, her first win in that category.

“The ride just keeps getting wilder,” Lainey captions an Instagram carousel shared after her celebratory night. “Country music has wrapped its arms around me in ways I could've never imagined. This is the dream y'all.”

Kenny Chesney announces new single, “Take Her Home”

Kenny Chesney is ushering in a new music chapter with his upcoming single, “Take Her Home.”

Slated to drop November 10, Kenny says the track captures “everything life is made of in less than four minutes.”

“Every now and then, you find a song that just feels right. There's an honesty about life that you can't just churn out. Finding songs that ring true? When you hear one, you grab it – and that's a lot of how this song happened,” shares Kenny.

“We were trying to decide what to lead with, and someone sent me this demo… and I knew. No more discussion. We had the song – and a great time turning it into a record real life? There's nothing like it,” he continues.

“It's amazing how simple figuring life out can be. I look around, and I see people in every state of this song every day,” Kenny adds. “I can't wait to hear people singing this one back to us, because it's going to be one of those moments. I just know.”

Most recently, Kenny and Mac McAnally performed “A Pirate Looks at Forty” as a tribute to Jimmy Buffett at the 57th CMA Awards.

Kenny’s latest album is 2020’s Here And Now.

Brothers Osborne did not expect to win their CMA award

Brothers Osborne walked home with their sixth Vocal Duo of the Year win at this year’s CMA Awards.

While they’re grateful for another nod, the “Nobody’s Nobody” singers weren’t certain they’d snag this victory again.

“I did not expect us to win. I felt that way every single year, and it has always felt like it was this close to slipping away from us,” TJ tells the press backstage. “I don't know if it feels that way for other artists, but I do think what happens to all of us in our heads is mostly not reality when we're thinking about if we're cool, if we're still gonna be relevant.”

“It's something that I think of regularly and I'm like, ‘I wonder if this is the last year that we get to feel like we're on top of the world.’ And then it keeps happening,” he continues. “I think the thing I need to change is probably just wake up and realize that we're gonna be here for a while, at least I hope, and probably get a better therapist.”

For John, it’s all about living in the present and being appreciative of every achievement.

“You really try to relish these moments that happen because some people are like, ‘Oh yeah, you did it again.’ It's like, ‘No, this is our moment, this is our year,’ because at some point, it will pass, and you've got to relish it,” he says.

“There will be a time when we aren't even nominated. There will be a time when we can't even get in the damn building, and we'll look back and wished we would have relished it more,” John adds. “So, I definitely don't want to miss any of this.”

The not-so-old meets the new, backstage at the 2023 CMA Awards

Backstage at the 2023 CMA Awards, it was a mix of the not-so-old guard meeting the almost-new.

Lainey Wilson scored the upset of the night, winning Entertainer of the Year the first time she was nominated, in only the second year she was ever eligible. Moments later, she was already thinking about her vision for the future.

“I think that we are in a very pivotal time right now in country music,” she told reporters backstage. “I’m very proud to be a part of this generation of country music. They all look different, they all sound different, they all have different stories, they all come from different places, and I think it’s really important for that to be a thing.”

HARDY, who started the day winning two trophies alongside Lainey for “wait in the truck,” was simply happy to be part of country’s new direction.

“There is, in fact, a new era of country music that is making a really big footprint,” he proclaimed.

Jelly Roll, always grateful and always humble, knew he’d want to relive the day he was officially welcomed into the fold, joking he could always watch it on Hulu in 4K.

Two-time Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs — who’d taken Lainey out on tour earlier in the year — was transported back to his beginnings by the two wins for Tracy Chapman‘s “Fast Car,” recalling how he used the song to teach himself to play guitar when he was 21.

Meanwhile, Chris StapletonBrothers Osborne and Old Dominion, with 21, 7 and 6 career trophies respectively, seemed to welcome the night’s new wind with open arms, with a determination to never take their own recognition for granted.

House Oversight Committee issues subpoenas for Hunter Biden, president’s brother James Biden

Chairman James Comer of the House Oversight Committee announced that President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden; his brother, James Biden; and Hunter Biden’s business associate Rob Walker were subpoenaed, demanding they appear for depositions. Other Biden family members were asked to sit for interviews Wednesday in the House Oversight Committee’s ongoing presidential impeachment inquiry.

The subpoenas are in relation to the panel’s ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Biden; the committee had previously subpoenaed banks for records belonging to Hunter and James Biden. Biden’s son, Hunter, was called to appear for a deposition on Dec. 13. Biden’s brother James and business associate Rob Walker are scheduled for Dec. 6 and Nov. 29, respectively.

In addition to the subpoenas, the committee is requesting transcribed interviews with other Biden family members and associates, including both Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen, and the widow of Beau Biden, Hallie Biden. Also asked for transcribed interviews were James Biden’s wife, Sara; Elizabeth Secundy, the older sister of Hallie Biden; and Tony Bobulinski a former business associate of Hunter Biden.

Comer said: “The House Oversight Committee has followed the money and built a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his family’s influence peddling schemes. Now, the House Oversight Committee is going to bring in members of the Biden family and their associates to question them on this record of evidence.”  The committee said: “The Biden family, their business associates, and their companies received over $24 million from foreign nationals over the course of approximately five years — including millions of dollars from China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Kazakhstan. The Bidens and their associates made complicated financial transactions to conceal the source and total amount of money they received from foreign nationals and companies.

White House spokesman Ian Sams said the ongoing inquiry has “turned up no evidence to support their outlandish allegations of bribery and ‘high crimes and misdemeanors .. Instead of using the power of Congress to pursue a partisan political smear campaign against the president and his family, extreme House Republicans should do their jobs.”
