Kenny Chesney shares video for ‘Take Her Home’ off upcoming LP ‘BORN’

Kenny Chesney will release his latest album, titled ‘Born’ on March 29.  Said Chesney: “You never want to think it’s all about you, or that in this crazy world, it’s all about your music … I’m just trying to find songs that continue the story of who we are…how we live, breathe, work, rock, kick back and sometimes get tangled up in feelings that are anything but simple. Then you see people react the way they have to the news, and you go, ‘Well, okay…’”

Chesney added:  “As for the title, well, we’re still not quite done deciding what’s going on here, but one thing’s for sure: ‘Born’ is absolutely the title track. It’s got a lot of heart, a lot of soul — and it speaks the truth about living, life and what we’re all doing here. Banjo out front, a great big pocket that rocks back and forth, it feels great. But more importantly, it’s a lyric that throws out all the options, never tells you what to do and throws out the one existential truth no matter what you choose: ‘One thing’s for certain, we’ve all been living since the day we were born.’”

Chesney has shared the first single from ‘Born,’ titled “Take Her Home,” along with an official music video.  He shares of the visual: “When you can see yourself, your friends or someone you know in a song, that’s when a song will last long after it’s done playing. To me, this song has that potential for all of us… and as much as I like making videos, I also know the power of [No Shoes Nation]’s ability to live in my songs .. Every now and then, you find a song that just feels right. There’s an honesty about life that you can’t just churn out. That’s what [‘Take Her Home’] is to me. When I got the demo, I immediately knew it was the first song I wanted to release from my next project.” See the video for Chesney’s “Take Her Home” – here.

Chesney will also kick off his headlining “Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour,” including special guests Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker. The tour kicks off in Tampa, Florida, with stops in North Carolina, Texas, Ohio and more before wrapping-up with three nights in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Chris Stapleton rides his “White Horse” to #1

Chris Stapleton has notched his fourth career #1 with “White Horse.”

Chris wrote the song with Dan Wilson, and it came about after they were tasked with penning a track for 2013’s The Lone Ranger.

“I walked in the room to write with Dan at his house, and he said, ‘Hey they're looking for songs for this Lone Ranger movie.’ I said, ‘Cool. Let's write something. What do you know about it?’ He goes, ‘Well, we don't really know anything.’ I was like, ‘Well, let's just make a song that might sound like that,'” Chris recounts.

“We got to talking about how it would be cool to have a rock-driven-western-themed song, and that's kind of where the song came from and we built it around a guitar riff, really,” he shares.

“White Horse” is the lead single from Higher. Its follow-up single, “Think I’m In Love With You,” hits country radio February 12.
