Conner Smith on the success of “Creek Will Rise”: “That song has changed my life”

If there’s a song that’s taken Conner Smith‘s career to new heights, it’s “Creek Will Rise.”

“It’s been crazy. That song has changed my life,” Conner tells ABC Audio. “It was really cool to watch the song as it was growing at radio. First top ten single that we’ve had and still going. But as it would go on at radio, you could feel it growing in the live set.”

“There was like a moment where it just took over and it became the biggest song of the show,” he says.

With crowds singing along to “Creek Will Rise,” Conner’s also realized the relationship radio and live shows share.

“There’s that line at the end of the bridge, ‘Radio won’t even let me tell you the rest,’ that the fans just scream and it’s like, undoubtedly the best part of every show,” shares Conner. “So, it’s fun to see the way that fans and radio kind of correlate. That song has definitely moved the needle for us.”

You can find “Creek Will Rise” on Conner’s debut album, Smoky Mountains.

Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood to star in ‘Friends in Low Places’ docuseries

Country music supercouple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are starring in a new docuseries for Amazon Prime Video, titled ‘Friends in Low Places.’

Brooks, 62, shared in a press release: “This was so much more than I bargained for! With that said, what we have built is far more than just a business. This is by far, the craziest ride I have ever been on.” Yearwood, 59, added: “We started down this road fueled by passion, dedication, and a shared vision. I’m really proud of the team that has built the Friends Bar and Honky-Tonk. We are excited to share the culmination of everyone’s efforts. It’s even bigger than we dreamed!”

‘Friends in Low Places’ follows Brooks, Yearwood and friends “as they set out to build the ultimate oasis, a honky-tonk in the heart of Nashville.” An official synopsis reads: “Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood embark on their most personal journey yet to build the honky-tonk of their dreams in the heart of Nashville. Paying tribute to his roots, Garth enlists the help of his friends, day-one tour team, and an all-star hospitality group to open the epic, four-story bar on Lower Broadway. This is a labor of love and his thank you to the community of Music City.”

In a teaser for the docuseries, Brooks, 62, explained how he wanted the bar to capture the feeling of his live shows: “When you walk into Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk you’re in that stadium show, you’re at that dive bar. Try and remember, at the Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk, there’s the construction of it, but there’s also the building of the entertainment. That’s what a bar and honky-tonk is. At the same time, these people that come to a Garth Brooks spot, they expect what they see at a Garth Brooks concert, and so you bring in the best of the best, which also happens to be that family that you’ve been touring the world with for the last three decades.”

‘Friends in Low Places’ premieres March 7 on Prime Video; you can check out a preview: here.

The “Drink in My Hand” singer recently gave Choir members a deed to the bricks of his bar’s physical building and the first rollout of a series of digital collectibles, including a digital version of their brick that offers exclusive content and fan perks.

“You've helped me build my career brick by brick, and I want the whole world to know that the building is yours,” Eric told fans. “This is not just another club downtown. This is our house.”

He continued, “I've been involved in every step of restoring this historic building into a place we can call our own and, because you've been with me every step of my career, I'm proud to dedicate a physical brick of the Chief's building to each and every one of you.”

“Once Chief's opens, it's not mine anymore. It belongs to the Choir. It belongs to the fans. It belongs to the patrons,” Eric added of his downtown Nashville bar. “It belongs to the stories they create there. It belongs to the music they listen to there and share from there.
