Luke Combs cheekily teases tour setlist

Luke Combs has teased his upcoming tour’s setlist – and it only has one song on it: “Fast Car.”

The country star took to Instagram recently to jokingly share a glimpse of the list of songs fans can expect.

“We just finished our run-through of the set. Feeling really good. Tour starts next week, which is unreal to me,” Luke said in the video after rehearsals. “So thought I’d give you guys a little sneak peek of one of the nights, not both nights, one of the nights of the set so you know what to expect for Fridays.”

Luke then showed the setlist sheet, which listed “Fast Car” from one to 25, alluding to the potentiality of his cover of Tracy Chapman‘s hit being performed 25 times.

“Pause it if you need, check it out, tell me what you think. See y’all next week,” Luke continued with a straight face, not missing a beat of his prank.

“HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH I AM DEAD…. DEAD PAN AT ITS FINEST,” fellow country singer and Sony Music Nashville labelmate Nate Smith commented.

“Ok but how can you skip Fast Car?” Dan + Shay‘s Dan Smyers also said in the comments.

Luke’s upcoming Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour kicks off April 12 and April 13 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For tickets and a full list of dates, visit lukecombs.com.

Watch Chris Young perform “Young Love & Saturday Nights” on 'GMA'

Chris Young was on ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday to perform his latest single, “Young Love & Saturday Nights.”

Before taking the mic, Chris chatted about his new album, tour and the David Bowie-inspired song.

“It always me cracks up because people are like, ‘That sounds like the lick to “Rebel Rebel,”‘ and I was like, ‘It’s because it is,'” Chris shared. “David Bowie’s actually on the song credited as a writer, and they just wrote a new song around that lick.”

“I’m very excited to get on the road and start this tour and kick it off, and so happy the album’s out there, too,” he added.

Chris then joined his band onstage to perform the uptempo love song while donning a black leather jacket and his signature slicked-back hair.

Chris’ Young Love & Saturday Nights Tour kicks off April 25 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will conclude May 18 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tickets are available now at chrisyoungcountry.com.

Alex Murdaugh sentenced to 40 years in prison on federal financial charges

A federal judge sentenced Alex Murdaugh to 40 years in prison in connection to his federal charges in April 2024. According to NBC News, a district judge is allowing Murdaugh to serve his prison sentences for state and federal crimes simultaneously; Murdaugh was previously sentenced to 27 years in prison, imposed by South Carolina for related crimes, and was also ordered to pay more than $8 million in restitution to his financial victims. At his sentencing hearing, Murdaugh apologized to the victims of his scheme, saying he felt “guilt, sorrow, shame, embarrassment, humiliation. There’s not enough time and I don’t possess a sufficient vocabulary to adequately portray to you in words the magnitude of how I feel about the things I did.”

Murdaugh, 55, pleaded guilty in September to the 22 federal charges (which included bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering) for stealing millions of dollars from his South Carolina law firm. Prior to sentencing, federal prosecutors said in a filing last week that Murdaugh failed a polygraph test that he agreed to undergo as part of a plea deal, and identified 11 new financial victims and another $1.3 million in stolen money. Murdaugh has admitted to his financial crimes, saying he was in the throes of opioid addiction for many years.

Murdaugh was convicted last March for the double murder of his wife, Margaret, 52, and their younger son, Paul, 22, who were found dead at the family’s hunting lodge with gunshot wounds in 2021. He is already serving two consecutive life sentences without parole for those murders.  Murdaugh has never admitted to the killings, which prosecutors say he carried out to divert attention from the financial wrongdoing he believed was about to be revealed. He is attempting to appeal those convictions.

Went to a Tyler Hubbard show in 2023? You probably inspired his upcoming album, 'Strong'

As Tyler Hubbard readies to roll out his sophomore album, he’s reflecting on one of the project’s cornerstone inspirations: fans who were at his 2023 shows.

“I think being on tour last year highly influenced the album. You know, I wrote 11 of the 13 songs out on the road, out on the tour bus with writer friends of mine that I had taken out, and a lot of weekends I had writers with me,” Tyler shares.

“It was a lot of fun really getting to pull from the energy of the fans, really getting to pull from the inspiration of the live show and really looking at the setlist from a different perspective and seeing what's working, what's connecting and resonating with the fans and what's missing,” he says.

“What else do I want to do? What kind of feels or emotions do I want to put out there and do live?” Tyler recalls of his earlier thoughts. “It was a lot of fun to really directly – not only me but my songwriting buddies – [watch] the set, [watch] the fans, [see] how they're engaged and [be] able to take that inspiration back and pull from that.”

Tyler’s sophomore album, Strong, is available for preorder and presave now. Its lead single, “Back Then Right Now,” is #6 and ascending the country charts.

Beyoncé’s new country-inspired album, “Cowboy Carter” has broke the Spotify record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far, with Spotify posting on its social media accounts: “This is also the first time a country album holds the title this year.” The 27-track album was released last Friday.
