Chris Young stops show to help fan with gender reveal: “I've never done one of these before”

There’s a first time for everything, even for Chris Young.

The country star recently stopped his show to help a pregnant fan with her gender reveal.

“Good Lord, I’m sorry to the people in the back of the crowd. Hang on, I got to do this. Are you serious?” Chris asks the fan who was at the front of his concert.

“So this says, ‘Chris, will you do my gender reveal?’ I’ve never done one of these before,” Chris reads the sign she made, before asking her if she’s hoping for a boy or girl.

He then hands the sign back to her to open the envelope, which contained the sex of the baby.

“It’s a girl. I’m so glad,” Chris announces to the crowd. “For everybody who can’t hear what’s going on, I was like, ‘What are you hoping for?’ She goes, ‘A girl.’ Oh cool, no pressure.”

“It’s a girl. She’s having a girl,” he shares as the crowd erupts in excitement.

You can watch the full video now on Chris’ social platform X.

Chris is currently approaching the top 10 of the country charts with “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” the title track of his latest album.

Wisconsin AG charges three Trump associates in fake electors case

Three associates of former President Donald Trump associates, who were allegedly tied to Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, have been charged with forgery in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul filed felony charges against Kenneth Chesbro, former Dane County Judge Jim Troupis, and Mike Roman in Dane County Circuit Court.  Chesbro is accused of hatching the plan, Troupis represented Trump in Wisconsin and Roman delivered the paperwork of fake electors to a Pennsylvania congressional staffer to hand them off to then-Vice President Mike Pence on Jan. 6. All three were working for Trump in 2020 during Trump’s effort to take the state’s electoral votes.

Wisconsin is one of five states that have charged individuals for taking part in an elaborate scheme to approve fake electors for Trump in states where Biden won the vote.  The fake elector’s plan is one of the foundations for charges brought against Trump by special counsel Jack Smith in his Washington, D.C., case. That case is currently on hold while the Supreme Court decides if Trump’s claim of absolute immunity is warranted.

Cheseboro and Roman are also named as co-conspirators in similar election cases in Arizona and Georgia, while Troupis has been cited in Wisconsin only.

President Biden signs executive order banning migrants who cross southern border illegally

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden signed a new executive order on immigration that bars asylum to migrants who cross the southern border unlawfully, and temporarily shut down asylum requests once the average number of daily encounters tops 2,500 between official ports of entry.

The White House announced online: “These actions will be in effect when high levels of encounters at the southern border exceed our ability to deliver timely consequences,” saying that the policy change “will make it easier for immigration officers to remove those without a lawful basis to remain and reduce the burden on our border patrol agents.”

Biden’s executive order suspends entry of non-citizens who illegally cross the southern border and makes it easier to remove those who cross when the southern border is “overwhelmed” and to remove respective migrants who “do not have a legal basis to remain in the United States.” The executive order limiting the unlawful daily crossings to an average of 2,500 “will be discontinued when the number of migrants who cross the border between ports of entry is low enough for America’s system to safely and effectively manage border operations.”  The president’s order would come under the Immigration and Nationality Act sections 212(f) and 215(a) suspending entry of noncitizens who cross the southern border into the United States unlawfully. Humanitarian exceptions will be made, including for unaccompanied children and victims of trafficking.

Biden’s executive order comes a day after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reported rising injuries and fatalities among migrants due to heat and dehydration as summer approaches and temperatures recently topped 100 degrees in the El Paso, Texas, sector. Border Patrol agents responded to several emergencies involving migrants suffering from “severe heat related illnesses,” which claimed four lives over the past weekend.

Lainey Wilson is confident 'Whirlwind' is “the best stuff that I've ever done”

“Whirlwind. That’s what it’s been. Seems like it comes up in every conversation. Anytime I open a book, I see the word ‘whirlwind,'” shares Lainey Wilson.

That’s why she’s naming her forthcoming fifth album Whirlwind

“It’s like, this is it. Way too many signs have pointed to it,” Lainey tells ABC Audio.

Beyond the whirlwind of her life and career, the reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year says Whirlwind will be the best project she’s released – and she’s very confident of that.

“It’s weird because I actually told somebody the other day, I said, ‘If this record right here never wins a thing, I still know it’s the best stuff that I’ve ever done, and I can lay my head down at night knowing that a 100%,'” Lainey recalls.

“I mean, truth is, I didn’t start writing music … to win awards. It’s just something that has a nice thing that’s come along with it,” the “Hang Tight Honey” singer says. “So I think you got to make sure that you’re writing for the same reasons, and that’s what we did with this stuff.”

Whirlwind arrives Aug. 23 and is available for preorder and presave now.

If you’re going to be in Nashville for CMA Fest, you can catch Lainey performing at Nissan Stadium on Saturday before her sit-down interview at the CMA Close Up Stage on Sunday.

Not going to be in Nashville? Fret not, you can livestream Lainey’s interview on TalkShopLive.

Lainey Wilson invited by Reba McEntire to join Grand Ole Opry

Lainey Wilson will become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry after receiving a surprise invitation to join the Opry family from longtime Opry member Reba McEntire.

McEntire extended the honor after Wilson after she performed her latest single, “Hang Tight Honey” on the finale of NBC’s, sharing: “Lainey, I am so proud of you. You did a wonderful job. I have heard that I’ve inspired you and what you’ve done so far, and I am thrilled to death if I had anything to do with your career, ’cause you are blowing it up.” I was so proud of you at the ACMs the other night, and I couldn’t be more proud to be the one that helps you continue to bridge the gap between our generations, keep ’em all goin’. I’d like to be the person who invites you to be an official member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

Wilson tearfully accepted, hugging McEntire on stage and sharing: “somebody pinch me. This is the moment little Lainey dreamed about ever since her first trip to Nashville. My family’s over here tonight, and I will say, they took me to Nashville when I was nine years old and we went to the Grand Ole Opry, and we saw Bill Anderson and Crystal Gayle and Little Jimmy Dickens, and I knew that I wanted to play there, I wanted to do it. It is so crazy that you’re asking me to be a member ’cause I look up to you so much. I’m not talking about just musically, but the way that you carry yourself and your work ethic, you inspire me every day.”  She ended by thanking McEntire for “the surprise of a lifetime.” McEntire later presented Wilson with a gift commemorating the occasion, a custom-made belt buckle reading “Opry” and “Lainey” with “2024” emblazoned on its reverse side.

Wilson will be inducted into the Opry family on Friday, June 7th.
